Great picture, questionable quality.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok so I've had this tv for about 2 1/2 months. Last night it just powered down flashing red light. After being on hold with sony for almost an hour I'll be getting a replacement unit it sounds like. Still more hoops to jump through tho and not at all what i expected from this pricey sony OLED. Picture was great while tv lasted and sound was decent. I have no faith in this now tho and wish i had bought another LG. Time will tell but I'm not impressed.

Burn in less than a year old
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I dont know what's worse the support from Sony or the reliability of this tv. I have had this tv for less than a year and its already showing signs of burn in. That is unacceptable when I have barely used the Tv as I work in Alaska half the year. Didnt think burn in could happen with so little run time on the Tv when Sony has settings like pixel shift. Its disappointing to see that Sont wont stand by their own manufacturing warranty. Always been a Sony Tv guy but LG might be the way to go.

Posted .Hi BrandonS,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand your concern about screen image retention or burn-in. We're sorry that you had to experience all of these inconvenience with your Sony BRAVIA XR TV. This is not the news we want to hear.
Image retention occurs due to the degradation of screen uniformity as a result of continuous display of the same screen for a certain period of time. To reduce image retention, we recommend that you turn off the TV on a daily basis for more than four hours using the remote control or the power button on the TV. Images that include clocks and bright colors easily cause image retention. Avoid displaying these types of images for long periods of time, otherwise image retention may occur.
The good news is that we have equipped this TV with functions that automatically adjust the screen conditions, to protect the TV from screen image retention. Respectively: Panel refresh and Pixel shift to name a few. These functions automatically run according to your TV’s condition or you can run them manually. For more on "Notes on using OLED TVs (about image retention)", please visit the link below.

Display failure within 30days
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The display on the TV went out and the LED at the bottom of the panel began flashing red and orange. This occurred after less than a month of usage. The TV was no longer functional after this. I’m glad that I had a warranty. I have a replacement due in soon; I’m hoping for a better outcome.

Poor Quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this on Thanksgiving sale with lot of excitement. Sony products was my family's dream from childhood. Used the TV for barely 20 days , TV Doesn't have good sound system of its own. Good image quality but inbuilt sound system is pathetic. it started giving problems when you hear it in high volume. Started malfunctioning when 25 days and used to take lot of time start ir the screen used to get black out when you pause the TV. Would recommend people to buy other brand rather giving their hard earned money to his brand. Best buy executive were very helpful with me in getting it returned as the product was in return period. Would recommend people to test the performance or compare the quality in stores prior buying it. Had a Samsung frame TV earlier which is quite better i feel. As the service/repair process etc are costly in USA, its better one take this decision judiciously.

Beautiful Picture, Until the TV Breaks
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV broke with electronics failure 9 months in. Picture was gorgeous before that and I loved this TV. I'm guessing the great reviews on here are from people who have owned this TV for less than a year. I bought extended warranty from Geek Squad based on reading reviews about this TV's reliability, but Sony won't let Geek Squad service it if it's still on factory warranty. Waiting to see if I can get it fixed by a Sony authorized repair person (I'm far from a city).

TV won't Turn on
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, i bought TV in November 2023... here we are in January 2025. So a little over 1 year of owning the TV and it won't power on. The TV has not even been moved. It worked last night, now this morning it won't power on. Just lovely. Waste of money. Buy a Samsung. My last TV was a Samsung and it lasted 10 years.

Zero stars
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the first year the t.v seemed great. Occasionally having issues with it turning on but didnt think too much of it. 1 year and 1 week later it stopped working. Tv would not turn on. Flashing red light indicating power source issue or main board issue. Conveniently it was a week too late to make a warrenty claim. So now either pay $300+ for someone to fix it or attempt a DYI on a $2k tv. These are not made like the old ones, would not recommend. If you do decide to buy, get the extended warranty like we have to on everything made now days.

Not worth the money
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned many Sony TV's in my many years and this tv by far ranks as having the worst picture quality, I have an entry level 65 inch Sony LED that displays much better color accuracy and picture clearness than this much, much more expensive OLED. I have spent countless hours and every adjustment combination without matching my other tv picture quality. Same signal and side by side comparison, The only way this tv displays a great picture is when I use the retail demo mode. After the demo is run its course the subpar picture returns. Would be great if it would stay in the retail mode all the time but it always resets. Just a good way to sell the more expensive tv's no doubt. Maybe I have a lemon but the bottom line is this tv is not up to par for the cost.

Heartbroken bureaucratic nightmare
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Heartbroken and disappointed. Loved the TV while it worked. Will not turn on and flashing red lights after 10 months, still in warranty. Sony is horrible with their warranty process. Few generic emails saying my tv will be fixed under warranty. Parts have been ordered and delivered to a horrible local TV repair company. Ghosted by the repair man and my Sony TV set representative. I call customer support to let them know neither party is responding to my emails or voicemails only to be told it is out of their hands; the TV set department is their own entity. bureaucratic nightmare. Never purchasing from this brand again.

Warranty is a Scam
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this and within days started noticing grain and artifacts when viewing content. Nothing we tried would fix it so we contacted Geek Squad. They came out and tested the tv and said it needed a new Motherboard, and emailed Sony stating as much. Despite this and spending hours on the phone with them they refuse to honor their warranty and say it 'must be our wifi'. DO NOT TRUST SONY WARRANTY

Nightmare
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spent $1800 on a TV just for it to fail in less than 2 years! It is only warrantied for a year and Sony wouldn’t do anything to help me at all. The quality was immaculate but if I knew it would be this short lived I would have never purchased it. You can get similar quality for much cheaper elsewhere I do not recommend!

The WORST
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Complete garbage. This tv failed catastrophically in the first few months and they had to replace most of the parts internally. Then it catastrophically failed again two months out of warranty. Why is Sony so bad?

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased another Sony Bravia 65 inch to replace our old Sony Bravia 65 inch. Posted .Hi Sassy, We're sorry to hear that the TV died twenty minutes after plugged in and setup. This is definitely not the experience we'd like you to have. We'd love to help you troubleshoot your problem and turn this into a better experience.
Several conditions may cause a power issue that prevents your TV from turning on. If you experience power fluctuations, such as brownouts, blackouts, or temporary power loss, these conditions should be resolved before troubleshooting the TV.
Make sure the AC power cord is securely connected to a working wall outlet.
Make sure the power cord is securely connected to the back of the TV.
Try turning on the TV by pressing the POWER button on the TV, then try turning on the TV by pressing the POWER button on the supplied remote control.
Unplug the TV power cord from the electrical outlet for at least 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the TV.
Turn on the TV.

Never worked since day 1. Best Buy sold a lemon
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does not work.bought an excellent condition open box version of this tv. Ever 30 seconds no matter what you’re watching streaming or over air or dvd or video game the tv constantly switches to HDMI 2 input and says “input 2 has low signal please check connection) and it stoos And pauses whatever you were doing before that and makes it very Hard to find how to go back to where you were but it’s futile because it happens every 30 to 90 seconds. Best Buy won’t accept the return unless I transport the tv by hand back to the store but it does Not fit in my car and it never has that’s why I had it delivered so now I’m stuck with a piece of useless garbage and keep in mind I’m a total tech member and have been since day one but they still treat me like I’m worthless chattel.

Posted .Hi Kale1986, Thank you for sharing your experience with the XR48A90K. We are truly sorry to hear about the issues you are facing with your TV. It sounds incredibly frustrating to have the input switch to HDMI 2 every 30 to 90 seconds, disrupting your viewing experience. We understand how inconvenient it must be, especially given the challenges with returning the TV to Best Buy.
We recommend checking the HDMI connections to ensure they are secure and trying a different HDMI cable to see if that resolves the issue. Also, make sure that the firmware version is up to date. Additionally, you might want to perform a factory reset on the TV to see if that helps.

Faulty Product or Faulty Installion
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Either the TV I got is a lemon or Best Buy installed it wrong. It hasn't worked properly since it was delivered and installed by Geek Squad. Settings are constantly erased, soundbar constantly stops working.
