Buy at your own risk
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My TV has an issue where the screen displays a 3mm bar down the left hand side. Sound still works. Sony is aware of the problem, but their is to do a hard reset. Best Buy is no help either. The Best Buy protection plan is worthless !!!! The Sony warranty is worthless. Been 6+ months waiting for an solution.... Buyer remorse...

xr65a80l Sony
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV looks very nice and everything you see looks very good. It was purchased back on December 2023 and has only been on for about 60 days at most averaging 4 hours per day being on. Now on July 2025 it stopped working out of nowhere. I only use it with my personal computer to game and nothing more. I also have other tvs of different brands and are on like 16 hrs a day everysingle day and have never had an issue with the other brands and are cheaper. This time I decided to spend more for a better looking one and happens it is more delicate and has been used a few times only for gaming. It is very disappointing to pay for something more expensive and better looking tv so that it stops working while I was about to start playing a game. I personally do not recommend this tv. And now I had to call service to get it repaired. Never had problems with an LG or Samsung tvs for gaming and those are years about 6 years old. The picture quality is expectional for the sony tv I bought and was expecting for it to last years, but it came to be very delicate for gaming for what I see, so not worth it.

||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 1.25 years it broke and flashes 4 red blinks. Was a nice TV. Going to see how much to repair. Not happy! Wish it lasted longer. Had a nice picture.

BEST BUY SUPPORT IS HORRIBLE IF EARLY BREAKAGE!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had the tv for 29 days and critical failure of internal board or power supply or LED backlight (not important). Issue is unless you pay Best Buy for their preferred member yearly program which is a shake down, the tv has a 14 day return policy. BEWARE OF THIS EVERYONE, as this is a real issue. They don’t seem to care or decipher the difference between not wanting and LEMON for their return policy. Therefore, had to make appointment with Nerd Squad to come and fix!!! Really, new parts in a 1 month old tv….get outta here. Called Sony support and A++, wanted photos and proof of my 4 blink error code. BOOM, new tv with white glove service being shipped. The TV picture is very nice and maybe this is a freak failure but my overall thoughts of spending $3k at Best Buy and them to turn a blank eye at a failed product and not an impulse buy is enough to change my mind for purchasing from them ever again. THANKS BEST BUY!!! See you in the future with the extended warranty I purchased or will you find a way to snake out of that somehow also???? BUYER BEWARE. BEST BUY = D-, Sony product = C (A for picture, F for failure, C average) , SONY SUPPORT= A+, maybe Best Buy should learn a thing or two from the companies they promote.

Excellent picture but downgraded on sound.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m a big Sony TV fan for such a long time. My first Sony OLED was when the A8H model came out which was my first OLED. I still have that tv and still working great. So finally decided to purchase another TV which was this OLED A80L the picture is good but my only complain is why is the sound not as good as the previous years? I looked at specs and it shoulda have better sound according to the specs but it may be cheaper components. I tried fiddling with the setting for sound but I can’t get the same quality sound from my older A8H Sony that I bought years back which is a bit disappointing. Im curious if the higher a95L model has better speakers. I’m on the fence about returning the unit because this is my living room unit. I was very excited for this TV until this issue. It sucks that Sony took a step back instead of making premium sets

Not worth it compared to other manufacturers
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first 6 or so months were great. The picture especially is incredible. But, it stopped recognizing my soundbar (also Sony) after about 6 months. So, I would have to turn the soundbar off, wait a bit, then turn it back on for the TV to connect to it. Not a huge deal, but for sure annoying. Then, it randomly started turning itself on and off when it wasn't in use. After spending over an hour on the phone with customer service clearing cache and resetting the TV, that stopped. Finally, about 350 days after I bought it, the power board went out. It's been such a disappointment.

Great picture - buggy firmware/software
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this 10 months ago and i loath to recommend this product to anyone. The picture quality is supurb but the Google interface is unreliable and unintuitive. Even with gig speed internet it is slow and unresponsive. I am never going to adjust to spinning icons and lockups. At times the only solution is to unplug the set to force a reboot. I have also reached the point that i despise anything Google or Android. It really sucks as the cheap open source product it is.

Sony so sad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Find a store where you can play with the settings and run a 4K BluRay into the machine. You will find that the LG C3 does a much better job but the LG G3 is the one to buy if you're looking at OLED It is far better in all respects! Also will more likely prove to be more reliable in the long run.

LACKS A A KEY FEATURE
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good picture. But I deeply regret buying this tv. I watch lots of broadcast tv and love sports. All the other tvs I’ve owned have had a return to last channel button. This tv does not. It requires at least four more keystroke steps to go to another channel.

Inconsistent Playback with Sonos System
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.About every third viewing session I get stuck in an endless loop where the tv switches back and forth between external audio (Sonos Beam 2, Mini Sub, 2x One surrounds) and built in speakers every 5 seconds or so. The only way to get out of it is to power cycle everything, then it mostly corrects itself until a few hours later. Add to that the constand electrostatic clicking when toggling between apps (AppleTV 4k). None of this happened with my A8G and Beam 1, it was flawless, bit i upgraded the whole system to fain Atmos. Lesson learned. I did buy this open box so maybe its defective. Also not nuts about the picture. This one’s going back.

Where are the other 2 2.1 HDMI ports?
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Why sony limited the 2.1 hdmi ports to just 2 one of which is the ARC port is a mystery. A lot of people looking at this type of TV have multiple consoles/Devices and not just a PS5 and they have to use the ARC port for the AVR. 4 hdmi ports total only 2 are useful to me. If i had realized this in the store I would have made a different choice. TV could be a little brighter also but the HDMI issue is the big issue for me. Even on sale the amount of money I paid for the TV sony could have updated all HDMI ports to 2.1 120Hz. Bad move sony. Looking to return and purchase another brand.

Posted .Hello Crap,
Thank you for your purchase. We are sorry to hear that two HDMI ports are not enough for your needs. If you are looking to increase the ports, you could upgrade your Receiver to support your needs and connect to eARC HDMI 3 port and let the new receiver provide the highest signal quality to the TV. The Sony STR-AN1000 would be a great option.
We always strive to deliver the best picture and sound quality with our TVs. Your opinion matters and we take this seriously as a way to improve our future products.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will still consider Sony in your future purchase.
Regards,
Marco
