Sony x90j 65” Excellent TV

Love the 65” size. I bought this TV in August of 2021 and I’ve been very impressed. The 120Hz/4K ultra HD with my Sony Bluray is 100% more noticeable than on a standard “high definition” or 1080p. I highly recommend getting all hdmi 2.1 cables to get the most out of your next gen consoles, devices, etc.

A good tv with little wrong.

Some light blooming in dark scenes, but not distracting. Standard mode and Cinema mode are fantastic. Custom mode is also fantastic and requires little to no tweaking. Really the only disappointing thing about this tv (and all Sony LED tvs apparently) is turning on VRR switches off local dimming, causing games to look washed out. There are ways to may the games look better with VRR on, but you are going to have to work to make it look good. As with most tvs, the built in speakers are okay, you will definitely want a soundbar or home audio system.

I wasn’t ready to spend a bunch of money on the oled TV’s but I wanted something with a great picture. This Sony caught my eye and when I saw it at the store I was hooked. The picture quality is so clear and detailed. Even watching it in the dark the black was crisp. You will need a sound bar because the speakers are pretty basic. But overall a great tv for the price.

Solid Sony HDTV with all the bells and whistles

It's has good colors, contrast and brightness and requires very little calibration out of the box. It has native 120hz panel and HDMI 2.1 on 2 ports perfect for those who own a PS5 and Xbox Series X. It does lack VRR but there's a promise of it coming in a future update but don't buy it for that reason alone. Google OS is smooth which I use for YouTube TV and Kodi. My only complaint is the sound it not very good. lots of mids and little to no bass. And I wish I waited a few months because it dropped $200 in price..oh well

At the end the screen went black - really black, not gray like other TVs. My chair is about 30 degrees off center, we had a color washout problem at that angle in Movie mode. Switched mode to Vivid - problem fixed. We compared this to the Bravia X95J at the store. The X95J is just a bit clearer/sharper, but the cost was $800 over this X90J. Very happy with it.

I love the colors and the sound with my sound bar especially, in the ease of how it is to use. My last large screen was a Samsung, and I like the Sony a little better for my situation because it seems as though the colors on the set are a bit more natural. I would highly recommend this TV, and Sony in general, because I feel the quality is the best you can get when it comes to TVs.

The color is accurate and the picture is bright and is ready out of box, however i did a cnet calibration and the picture is now perfect. I highly recommend this t.v.

Great TV for all conditions

The arrary backlighting makes for an amazing experience when it's movie time and on the other end get really bright to be seen during the day. Smart features are great. Universal remote is a bit finicky with my cable box.. it'll try to turn it on even when it's already on resulting in it being turned off. Aside from that, everything about this TV is great.

Excellent picture, perfect sound, great size, love the features! Only 2 things would like to see changed/improved: The feet are too wide/deep and too wide apart, so wont fit a standard console table. Not a problem if hanging the TV on the wall. And wish the remote wasn't black or had the option to be a bright easy to find color. Otherwise this is the TV you want!

The blacks are extremely dark maybe not as good as an OLED but an extremely good VA panel. I also think the local dimming does so well with popping colors. Watching movies is a theater experience. The 120hz is supposed to be supported at some point but not at the time of the review that I have noticed for the PS5. But it seems to work for the Xbox Series X. I do recommend a soundbar.
