Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good product for the price, however the first TV I bought had some manufacturing defects that looked like dirt between the glass and the backlight, appearing as small dark splotches stretching over a region of pixels. I exchanged that one for another one that looked better, but in certain cases when the backlight is on and the screen is largely the same color, there appears to be some sort of cloudy effect where some regions of the screen are brighter. This is mostly only noticable when switching between apps, and isn't really noticable when playing back any video unless you're really looking for it. The picture itself is nice, and the zoned backlighting region lends itself quite nicely to producing deep black color. It does have some noticable haloing effect when a very dark scene has a small bright spot lit up, which is very noticable when you change the volume for instance. For the price point and lack of burn in as compared to current oled displays, the small bit of haloing is perfectly acceptable in my opinion.

Great Google TV software, remote, and picture!

Of course, I'm also happy with the bright, beautiful picture -- a nice upgrade from my 2016-model 4K. But truly, I purchased this Sony over competing models from LG, Samsung, and others, because Google TV is so good I don't feel like I need a separate streaming device anymore. I use Youtube TV, Netflix, PLEX, Paramount+, and during the day, I put on over-the-air broadcast television for my dogs. All are working flawlessly. There's even a first-class program guide for the broadcast stations. I hope Sony & Google continue working together to keep things up-to-date. Based on my experience so far, I would strongly recommend this TV and the excellent Google TV software.

Nice TV, OS could be better

The screen is nice and the refresh rate is better. The down side is I am not fond of the Google OS compared to the Andriod OS. When I power on this TV it takes me to the home screen with an Ad vs right to the TV.

I upgraded from a 13 year old Samsung device and my goodness… technology has changed significantly!!!! I love all the features such as the google OS, which now have most of all my apps that I use all in one place instead of having 3 different streaming boxes!!! THANK YOU FOR THAT!!! For all of you gamers it does have HDMI 2.1 ..the (VRR)update is coming soon to Sony television!!!! The TV has a great picture right out of the box. The smart interface is excellent and all apps are running smooth. The remote is sort of big, but very intuitive and works great. The only negative is the amount of reflection this TV screen has.

I’ve had several Sony TV’s with no problems so I got this one as the replacement for the X900F. Basically, I took it out of the box and started watching it. I use the ARC with my Sonos system and it has excellent sound quality. I prefer the Google TV more than the Android version which I found irritating and pretty useless. Yes, the picture is great, now if only there was more 4K content available. I’ve finally got around to playing around with the settings and fine tuning some optional features I like. I’m happy with my purchase no regrets, yes it’s pricey but the value is there.

I gave it 2 stars and posted pictures on what was wrong. That review was done on a defective TV. I decided to return that TV. I showed the employees at Best Buy the pictures and videos I had. Every one who seen them said it shouldn’t be doing that and they no problem taking back the TV. After having a problem with that TV I spent a little more time asking some questions and decided I would get another Sony TV but I went up one model to the X90J. When I got home and hooked up the TV what a difference a properly working TV makes. No more pixelating in the black parts no more image trailing. The picture is great. I now see why it’s getting good reviews.
