I received a replacement TV under warranty after 3 1/2 weeks after jumping through all the hoops but we had to remove the failed TV from its mount and carry it down stairs for the delivery person to pick up. This is the first item of electronics ever that I have purchased in the past 20 years that has failed relatively quickly. The person delivering the replacement said he had done the same for a number of Sony TV's. The picture quality was quite good until it failed. Surprised that a premium priced product like this would fail.

Backlight dying

Contacted Sony support they had me restart the tv, that obviously did nothing. And they couldn’t help me because my tv was out of warranty by not even 2 months. So it lasts the 1 year then might die on you right after. Forcing you to spend money on repairs or a new tv.

I have it on the wall with a mounting dream full motion mount with a sonos arc soundbar with a sanus mount to the tv along with the sonos sub gen 3 and sonos one sl's.

Better than the tv was the salesman. He showed us several different ones and explained the differences. We went to buy a DVD player but due to his expertise and friendliness we purchased the TV and the DVD.

Very disappointing quality control

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.MAIN TAKE AWAY: if you choose to but this tv, immediately run a blank light colored screen (easily found with a quick YouTube search) to check for screen defects. Check for small clusters of shadowing or obvious black specks (pictures attached)… this tv is $1300+ and the screen should be flawless!! Hopefully, if you get one like my THREE attempts, that were unjustly pushed through quality control by Sony, you can exchange or return it before it’s too late! Good luck!! MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: Bought this tv on a Labor Day sale. Had everything I wanted for specs, had great reviews, and google tv built in. I was very excited. Unfortunately, it came, I set it up and the minute any kind of blank or light screen was displayed, there were several black specks or bits of dust or debris that were on full display. I got closer and noticed that what I was seeing were shadows between the backlight and the actual screen. I figured it was just one that slipped through quality control at Sony… maybe someone on the factory floor spilled or coughed on this tv while the screen was being assembled; who knows? I just exchanged it at Best Buy a couple days later. Then set up my new replacement… only to find the same exact defect. So I exchanged it for a third one… same problem, but worse and even more prominent. I contacted Sony directly to discuss this matter and all they wanted to do was have me run power resets, check for software updates, and fiddle with settings on the tv, even after I explained that it was clearly a physical object causing the shadowing defect; completely worthless response from Sony customer service. I’ve given up on this tv and exchanged it for a different brand all together. I used to love Sony and really hoped to love this tv, but these ridiculous Sony quality control and customer service standards are unacceptable and I must move on. I will most likely never buy a Sony tv again :(

First 4K TV and it’s a knock out!!!

Seemed to be high quality TV without being too high of a price. Have run many 4K HDR videos on it and the image quality is outstanding. Also have run standard TV channels through it and it’s still a great picture. Have hooked up a standard Blu-Ray player and the 1080p video quality is fantastic. Played a PS5 on it and the TV now supports Variable Refresh Rate for high quality 120hz refresh rate so games look amazing. Have a friend of mine who owns a high quality Samsung 65 inch and have compared the two and I feel like my Sony more then holds it’s own in quality. You can’t go wrong with this unit!!!

Screen lighting fails.
