We had it only 6 months before it started to get a dark spot in the middle of the screen. Sony sent a “tech” to our house to bring a new tv. The second tv lasted only 6 days.

If you are watching from an external output like a cable box, please make sure that you have enabled the Enhanced Format setting on the TV. When you watch 4K picture with High-Quality, use a Premium High Speed HDMI Cable(s) that supports speeds of 18 Gbps.

The quality of the source is also a big factor in getting an excellent picture and sound quality. Having said that, picture mode settings provide preset adjustments for the type of picture you are viewing. Picture settings also allow a wide array of changes to color, contrast, motion settings, and brightness that can improve the viewed content on your Google TV.

I find this disappointing because I watch a lot of sports and it can be quite distracting. It's as if some of the led strips are brighter than others. Wish there was a fix.

The LCD screen is made with high-precision technology to achieve a high level of performance and picture quality. To achieve this level of performance, the backlight setting of the TV is set to maximize the screen brightness. However, you may notice uneven brightness on the TV when watching in a dark environment or when the screen is blank. This condition is normal and not a malfunction of the TV. My X90J is making me mad...

To isolate the issue, you will need to set the TV HDMI Signal Format to Enhanced format for your source device to recognize the 4K 120Hz capability of the TV. Make sure your device is connected to the HDMI 3 or HDMI 4 input on the TV using the supplied Certified Premium HDMI cable.
1. Select Settings → Watching TV → External inputs → HDMI signal format.
2. Select the input the device is connected to (either HDMI 3 or HDMI 4), and then change the setting to Enhanced format.

WiFi Issues Makes This TV Unusable

This TV and many other newer model Sony’s intermittently disconnect from WiFi and the issue can only be resolved by hard resetting your TV in the middle of whatever you are doing. In my case, every five minutes. This makes the TV completely unusable unless you are using an external streaming / gaming device. Don’t buy this TV - if you do - return it ASAP. Sony customer service told me there’s nothing they will do for me until a software update on some unspecified date is released, and who knows if that will even work. Until then, they advised me to keep doing what I have been doing. The real kicker is: I BOUGHT A 2 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY. Don’t buy this TV unless you plan on not using it.

Sound needs work

We’d love to help you troubleshoot your problem by isolating your sources and understanding your connections. To make sure your TV runs as smooth as possible, we highly recommend downloading and installing the latest software for the TV. The software update improves the performance of the TV and includes key features, applications, bug fixes.
Some of these issues can be fixed by simply restarting the TV. To do that, simply press and hold the Power button until Restart appears on the TV screen, and then press Enter to restart it. Sound quality also depends on the signal and content. As a suggestion, you can configure various settings related to the TV’s sound such as sound quality and sound mode. Select the appropriate sound setting for your Android TV which best suits you. For more information on how you can enhance your listening experience check the Adjust Sound Settings on your Android TV. Also try playing a different source to confirm the issue.
The sound quality may improve if you change it in [Sound] under [Settings].
Press the HOME button, and select [Settings] — [Display & Sound] — [Sound] — [Sound mode], and adjust [Sound mode] or [Sound customization].
