Perfect for pretty much everyone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this TV for 2 weeks and couldn't be happier. The setup was a piece of cake. There was no problem connecting to WIFI and the TV asked me to sign in to my google account so I did that and everything was set up in minutes. The picture seemed just great to me right out of the box so I didn't change any settings so far. I upgraded from a 2009 Panasonic Plasma which I thought had a great picture but it's nothing compared to this Sony. It's awesome for watching sports with no motion blur at all. There's not much 4K programming available but I watched some 4K videos on Youtube and was just blown away. I watched a couple videos about Machu Pichu and Dubai and the picture is so crisp and crystal clear that it almost looks fake. Like it's a perfect artists rendition of these places but nope, that's the actual real picture. I don't use it for gaming, only watching sports, movies and premium channels but so far, I don't see any flaws at all with this TV. I see some complaints about the speakers but I just cranked it up while watching Game of Thrones and the speakers sound great to me. I planned on getting a soundbar but now I don't think I'll bother. This Sony should be just about perfect for anyone looking for a 65" TV.. You can spend $2500 or more for a 65" TV but I just can't imagine it being all that much better than this $999 TV

Sony's standards have gone down
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wouldn't let the Sony brand fool you. Problems: motion glare and the "soap opera effect" despite the fancy advertising.

Picture went out
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had the tv less than 3 years and picture officially went out this week. We only purchased this to upgrade size from our Sharp we bought in 2007 that still runs great. Will probably go back to Sharp in this size.

Perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first i was going to buy the 810C model but then i realized that that model was over a year old and about to be discontinued. Then i saw the 900C model but the 'light bleed' reviews just scared me to death. Then i saw the newly released 750D. This 750D model had no reviews so i had nothing to go on. Seeing as it was a newly released TV, i can only assume they learned from the mistake of the 900C fiasco. And i can confirm that it is perfect! Now i've only had it for two days so I'm just giving my first impressions. It's a giant TV with a beautiful picture. The TV communicates flawlessly with my Sony Blu-ray player and Sony 4K receiver through HDMI ARC. i can actually control the receiver settings (not just volume, power), through the Sony TV remote; settings like Night Mode, receiver input, etc... I can control the blu-ray player through the remote as well. Netflix is also just one touch away with the 'Netflix' button on the remote! I also installed HBO GO, Amazon Video and Showtime from the Play Store. I haven't tested the sound but if you're spending this much on a TV then you probably have at least a sound bar already. I like the default settings for the picture so i just left it as is. So far i give this TV 10/10 score. I will update this review later if any issues come up.

Best of its class, except for 3D
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first purchased the Sony Bravia 750D but shortly returned it due to lack of brightness. My living room has a lot of natural light coming in which is important for our newborn baby. I exchanged the 750D with this 65" 930D after much research. This TV is spectacular! to those short of time, here is a quick glance of my impression for this TV PROS: - Its very bright! My living room has large windows facing opposite to the screen and the TV is potentially a mirror when turned off. however the TV's brightness can fight through the reflections making it an awesome TV both day and night -speaking of night, black levels are superb. Like I said, its not OLED quality but very very close. in a pitch black room, blacks are still deep blacks. -the way this TV upscales 1080p content is amazing! lets face it, theres still limited 4K content out there but the TV does an amazing job making full HD content close to looking like 4K. it even simulates HDR to non-HDR content! -Ive never had a voice enabled remote before. the voice command control is pretty accurate. my four year old neice was able to stream "My Little Pony" from the home menu to hulu just by using the voice remote. -its DirecTV ready! if you have Direct TV you can setup the TV to receive your shows without a receiver. -unlike the sony 750D, all HDMI ports supports HDR content straight from the box (although it needs to be enabled on settings) -HDR performance is amazing! bright scenes are extra bright! scenes that showed the sky and sun is so bright that on full brightness you would have to squint (not recommended but its an impressive feat) while dark scenes remain dark. the contrast here is amazing. CONS - the 3D. I purchased this TV as an upgrade from my Samsung 2010 3DTV. I still have quite an extensive collection of 3D blu-rays so I wanted a TV that could still put them to use.the 3D here is "so so" on this model. there are some crosstalk but to me its still very watchable. a lot of reviewers say it unwatchable and I purchased this tv already knowing that and I was prepared to be very disappointed, but when I tried it out myself, its actually not that bad! I've noticed the crosstalk between left and right eye becomes less and less frequent the longer you use it. I watched Captain America Civil War in 3D and after around 40 minutes the crosstalk seemed to become less apparent as the movie progresses.Still, hopefully this issues gets resolved through firmware update. The TV also DOES NOT COME WITH ANY 3D GLASSES at all. you'd have to purchase them separately. -the speakers are bad... its probably the worst feature from this TV. Everything sounds like its coming out from a metal can. but its not an issue if you have external speakers hooked to it. I have mine connected to a 5.1 surround system so I'm good. Still, they could've done better here. - the remote is hard to navigate without constantly looking. everything feels rubbery and hard to make out the buttons by feeling them alone. I would've preferred a backlit remote than this. the voice commands are a nice touch though. Overall I gave it five stars because the pros really outshines the cons. Sure 3d is bad, but that not a daily use thing. Sound is easily remedied with a good sound bar or surround setup and remote problems can be solved if you have a universal remote that you already familiar and love.

Not worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Not knowledgeable but acting knowledgeable sales kid was selling this tv hard. I should've trusted my gut and stuck with Samsung. Sony has always been underwhelming and over priced.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually went to purchase a LG, as that is all I've owned for years, and was shocked that I walked out with a Sony. The picture is great. The size for the price is outstanding and I am totally happy with everything about it. Sports really do come to life on this TV! When installing the set, it didn't update as I expected it too, so I worked with an online Sony tech and did the update(great experience as well). perfect with NO adjustments.

Great TV, Cable HD Lacking
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this TV for over two weeks now, and have gone through much searching to get the perfect picture. Cable TV is just simply hit and miss when it comes to HD channels. Going from a 46 inch 1080p Insignia TV to this larger Sony, I really notice the lack of proper HD broadcasting that Comcast provides. With that said, this TV handles true HD content wonderfully. Netflix, YouTube, and BR/4K movies look great. Gaming is a sight to see, I bought the new Xbox One S with this TV and it handles fast games like Forza Horizon 3 like a champ. This is my first smart TV and I am very impressed with all the features it has, but Sony screwed up on one detail. Although this TV has a voice command option, the included remote does not. This goes out to Sony, I know you watch this review section and would appreciate a free replacement for the proper remote that should have been included with this TV in the first place, thank you.

Years of Free Cold One's & Popped Corn
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a month of reading and rereading reviews online and doing due diligence at sites such as rtings.com, I walked into my local Best Buy with my mind made up that I was going to buy a TV in the $2000 price range; probably the Samsung 8000 series. Possibly the Sony 850D... What I didn't expect to happen, was my attraction to a bargain priced TV that had me repeatedly, time and time again, coming back to try to figure out what was the heck was wrong with it, because the price was so darn reasonable compared to all the others. That TV was the XBR65X750D. First off, among a sea of mirror-like screens that reflected every image in front of them in full detail, the 750D's semi-matte screen stood out as being far more comfortable to watch than the TVs with the high gloss screens. Also, the semi-matte screen appeared to make the colors look more natural, as opposed to being at times, synthetic looking. Yes, very vibrant color is nice to look at in still photos sometimes. But when watching TV, seeing things appear as they naturally look in real life is something that appeals to me a lot more. For me personally, the 750D seemed to offer very natural looking colors in it's picture. I could go on for a few paragraphs about reasons the other TVs I was planning to buy, just didn't seem to warrant a higher price as compared to the 750D, but in all honesty, the best way for me say it is this... Taking price out of the equation and simply judging things based on my personal tastes and preferences, I honestly liked the 750D better than anything else that I saw on display at Best Buy and that is why I purchased it. I feel that for the price I paid, I purchased a TV that was a genuine bargain. With the 750D going on sale for an additional $100 off for a holiday sale and being that I just bought the TV a few days ago,I was able to go to the store today and get that money applied back to my card. So in my mind, a great bargain has now become a point blank, honest to goodness, can't beat it, kind of deal! The videophiles of the world, controlled-conditions review site contributors, and video forum experts, will undoubtedly present a hundred technological reasons while the 750D just isn't as good as other similarly priced, or more expensive TVs. But when it comes right down to it, if you're an every day kind of person that logically approaches things based on your own observations and your own personal judgement... I personally feel that the Sony XBRX750D is a TV that you would probably end up thoroughly enjoying in your home. Not to mention the fact that based on the money saved when purchasing it basically means that not only would you get a great TV, but a lifetime of free popcorn, or a few years of free beer for Monday Night Football. 4.75 Stars based on what you get. (nothing is ever perfect) 5.25 Stars for what you pay to get it. That's a 5 star average overall and that's the personal score I give the Sony XBR65X750D taking everything into consideration... _________________________________________________ Side note: Sosa, the representative that took care of me at the Best Buy in Staten Island, NY is a Best Buy TV department rock star. His easy going demeanor was unintimidating. His professionalism and knowledge of every product offered in his department -- as well as all of the financing products offered by Best Buy-- was nothing short of outstanding. In fact, I can honestly say he was the most attentive, knowledgeable and impressive representative that I have dealt with in any box store in the past decade. Sosa of Best Buy Staten Island is a genuine credit to the Best Buy franchise and name.

Great Smart 4K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was researching TVs for at least a month before I finally made a decision. I was back and forth, posting choice on reddit to see what people thought. I had a rather large room with a wide viewing angle with multiple skylights and windows (so a bright room). The Sony x750d checked all of these boxes. Wide viewing angle, good in a well lit room, all of it. And boy did it deliver. I am so glad I made this choice. I originally bought the Vizio M65 but before I went to pick it up I cancelled it and ordered this one one instead. Best decision ever. The no TV tuner was a huge turn off of the Vizio for me. This TV is great and I havent even really explored the 4k aspect of it. We do not have cable and only use Netflix, Kodi etc. This is the perfect TV to access all of that and cut the cord! Great picture right out of the box and great having Android TV. Paired this with the SB3621 and it kicks!!!!

Can't wait to hook this thing up to the X Box One S Santa is bringing the kids. Love all the apps you can download to the TV. Downloaded the Plex app and it will stream all the media from my PC over my network. Been a flawless device so far, very happy.

Beautiful picture!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vibrant, rich picture and a great size for many size rooms. Easy hookup to my wireless signal, and then easy to access Netfilx. Sturdy stand. Elegantly thin border. Couple of annoyances: no owner's manual, not even online at Sony's website. There are probably lots of features I might like but will only know about them if I accidentally stumble upon them. I can't imagine why a fairly complex device does not have any explanation of its features. Also, TV does not easily sense when a flash drive is inserted; I have to do it 2 or 3 times before it recognizes the flash drive. And it doesn't recognize a flash drive as an "input" on an ongoing basis. You have to extract and reinsert the flash drive each time you want to use it. Also, after a certain period of time, the bottom third of the TV flashes a message: "TV appears not to be watched; do you want to keep watching? If so, press OK". I press ok and nothing happens. To get the enormous message to go away, I have to switch to another channel and then return to what I was watching. Very annoying.
