I love my Sony products! They have never let me down. This tv is no exception.

Outstanding TV quality and design. I compared the x900e against Samsung QLED and the Sony 930e series, in my view this is the better TV. Picture quality is so good that you keep on searching for HDR content to see how Sony can produce so high quality images on a TV. The image processors from Sony surpassed my expectations. When you see how this unit can upscale regular TV channels to beautifully high quality images you understand that it was built with the best hardware and software in the market today. I searched for weeks, read all the reviews out there, and compared at Best Buy against the Samsung QLED's. It was a close call with the x930 but I kept coming back to the 900e since it has the same contrast ratio and it's a better dollar value proposition There is some extra magic done by the Sony processors against competitors so that the picture contrast, depth reality, motion, and image details are noticeable a bit better. I really wanted the Samsung QLED but the blacks tend to collapse and the picture looses details when compared against the Sony. In my opinion the Sony reveals details with a near 3D effect. The picture won't tired you of falling in love with what this TV is capable of producing. The blacks are deep and tend to reveal details that sometimes look even better than what you see in the LG OLED's. As for the brightness, it is so powerful that I had to adjust the setting down below 20, or your retinas will hurt the rest of the day. The more I explore what the TV processor can do I realized that this is a unit designed with professional grade hardware. As for the sound, it's fine for everyday use. I would only consider a sound bar if you are a cinema sound enthusiast and need the added effects. An optical cable connected to your stereo would do a good job without the added expense. I can't say enough about how good this TV turned out to be. The setup was easy with no complaints. The remote is a good unit vs. what some reviews say against it. I do like the remote of the Sony Blue Ray player better (the UBP-X800) but you can tell that TV remote was designed with practicality and functionality in mind. It's very intuitive, the right size so it won't get lost in your furniture, and against other remotes its the one remote design that stand out as if telling your "grab me". Once you take it in your hands it's hard to let go, as if designed to invite you to keep exploring settings and options until your realize that the picture quality is just amazing. As for settings, leave the picture quality in Standard mode since you can tell that Sony put all its engineering effort in producing the best picture on this hardware out of the box. The same goes for color and sharpness, there are no adjustments needed. Overall, the XBR65x900e will amaze you. Any 4K HDR blue ray DVD will re assure you that is is a fantastic buy and that it strikes a better picture quality balance against the QLED'd. I purchased Planet Earth 2 in 4K HDR and I can't stop re playing it to see how the TV shines in all its ultra high definition capability. Wow!

No other picture comes close to the clarity and the availability of a vcr port was perfect.
