It stopped working in less then 90 days. And they wanted to replace with a refurbished. When you pay this much money for a TV you don't expect a refurbished replacement

Have had the TV for about a year and a half and don't really use it a lot, since it's the basement TV used mostly for movie watching. This weekend I ran into an issue where when I try to turn it on it flashes a red light at me 4 times and then repeats that. After checking online I find that this happens often with modern Sony TV's in general, with one video I watched commenting it seems to happen soon after the 1 year mark. I tried the hard reset method and that did not work, so it sounds like possibly the Power Board or possibly Main Board are having problems. The TV was too expensive to just toss, so now it's time to spend some money trying to get it fixed I guess. I loved it while it worked, but I didn't get to enjoy it a lot because of how relatively infrequently it was used before having issues.

    Great Job Sony!

This review is for the XBR65X900E. I recently tried a couple of Sony edge lit models (850D and 930D). They both had a nice bright picture, but the flash lighting and clouding on those sets was too distracting. I would rather have a good 1080p set over those models. I don't really get the attraction for ultra thin edge lit TVs (like the 930D). I'd much rather have a better picture. When I saw this new full array Sony set was available, I was surprised. It's well made, solid and not overly thin. Sony really got this set right. There is no clouding or flash lighting at all. The black level looks amazing even when bright white lettering is displayed. The processing speed is so responsive. The voice feature is cool and works great. The brightness, color, contrast, and sharpness is perfect even without any adjustments. I can't find any negatives about this set. Here's a message to Sony...keep making sets like this with full array technology. You will save money in the long run because people will be satisfied with them and keep them. Good job Sony! Also, Best Buy is your best choice for purchasing a new set. They have been very helpful, and they very reasonable.

    Built in Chrome cast SUCKS

The main thing I was looking for a Tv when I purchased this one was the ability to connet with other devices I have all my movies on my computer so I would need to buy a chrome cast or simmilar device to connet via wifi. The rep at best buy recommended this TV because it has built in Chrome cast so i wouldn't have to buy the extra device... BUT THIS TV SUCKS AT CONNECTING WITH ANY OTHER DEVICE. IF IT CONNECTS THE LAGGING IS HORRIBLE even with a strong wifi signal. I have another sony first generation samart Tv i bought a crhome cast and I HAVE NEVER HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH IT.

    Best non-OLED

Wow this TV is amazing! I was going back and forth from an OLED to an LED and this TV won. After extensive research and seeing the specific features of this set, it got my money. I couldn't justify paying that much more for OLED and I was concerned over real brightness and burn-in. I know the burn-in issues can be overblown but why take the risk when these new gen LED's are so much bomb. The Android system isn't perfect but there are videos out there that can help you tweak it to its best. Besides, I'm an Android guy and love the fact I can get my Google account on there. Picture wise, super customizable. From a silky smooth cinema experience to the soap opera look, you can make it do anything. Blacks are very decent thanks to the local dimming tech built in. Truly an incredible TV, you will not be disappointed.

Amazing TV. OS could be better

Overall: This is without a doubt one of the best TVs you can buy right now, especially for the money. The Sony upscaling makes everything you watch look better. Android TV OS is slow and frustrating. Good: The picture is simply beautiful. It seems to be well rounded - almost everything looks wonderful on it: sports, movies, games. It is very easy to set up. It automatically recognized most of the inputs I connected to it. I even love the live OTA TV guide feature. I wasn't expecting that and it has been a nice thing to have as someone who switches back and forth from streaming TV service to OTA TV. Bad: So far I am not a fan of the Android TV OS it uses. It has been very buggy and slow and counterintuitive (to me anyway). I pledged to give it a chance since it is native to the TV, but it has driven me back to using my Apple TV for most things. I will likely invest in the newer 4K version so I don't have to bother with the Android system at all. Everything else about this TV is A+, but this frustrating OS does distract somewhat from the good.

1st Sony TV was defective - would not power up. 2nd Sony TV was not compatible with Sony sound bar, which Best Buy also sold me. Had to buy a special cable for $34.99. Over a month to get a fully functioning set installed. Had to pay a month's cable bill without being able to watch anything. Over $3000 spent on this set-up. Wish I had bought something else.

    Glitchy TV poor service

I've had the tv for about 8 months now. When I purchased the TV, I asked if there was any problems working with AppleTV since I have a collection of movies and TV series on that. Salesperson said absolutely, it'll be awesome. Initially worked ok, then tv started spazzing out. Called applecare, they said it was the tv, called sony and they said I was out of my mind. Had Geeksquad do a visit, they said basically the two items aren't compatible. However, they felt they did a heck of a job on that call. Now the TV randomly shifts from inputs and randomly resets every 30-60 minutes. Sony customer support is a joke. I will not purchase Sony products in the future.

    Power Failure

Purchased this TV new from BestBuy for $1925.99, it lasted approximately 18 months before it failed and no longer functions. The TV is non-responsive, no power, regardless of power outlet, using both the remote and power button to cycle. I contacted BestBuy, "sorry, out of warranty". I contacted Sony, "sorry out of warranty, but here's a number of a local TV repair shop, maybe they can help". Out of warranty, that's on me, I get it, but a $2000 TV that lasts 18 months, Sony or BestBuy should have a minimum level of engagement towards a repair. Again, they gave me a phone number and wished me luck.
