Best TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv to replace a one-year old 60" LG 4k UHD and there is no comparison. The Sony picture is dramatically better - everything about the tv is superior. The appearance is minimalist with very solid stand. Set-up is easy and the voice search option on the remote is very nice. TV has great contrast and handles glare like a champ. This tv's picture looks great even in a living room with lots of natural light. Previous TVs we've had of all makes/models have all either washed out in the bright light or had insufferable glare - not so with this TV. After doing significant research, I opted for this tv as the closet to the high-end OLED models at the most affordable price. The only thing close I found was the comparable Samsung models. This set has the full array local dimming (makes the dark areas darker and deeper) which is much better than edge lit used in similar models.

Best money for a Mid LED 4k TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent picture, good deep blacks, great contrast. Sleek look. Not bulky like most tv's its size. Cords hide nicely in the rear of tv. Remote is easy to use. Settings are easy to read and understand. Picture in 4k looks amazing, Cable and over the air tv is ok. You have to remember your stretching HD to 4k, it will not look as nice as a 4k movie. Android tv is nice, but also confusing. Too many android menus. Easy to set up and love the stand it comes with. TV is also very thin. Only better tv for the price is the 930e 55" Sony. Would diffidently recommend it. Took a long time of tweaking but its common with a high end tv.

Excellent 4K TV for the $
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally dove into the 4K UHD TV market over the weekend. I did quite a bit of research and came to the conclusion that this was the best TV for what money could buy with all the features. I was definitely eyeing the OLED's, but they were almost twice the price still for what I paid for this TV. The packaging of the TV was very professional and easy to take out of the box. I had this TV up and running within half an hour of getting it home. Football looked really good and had no problems at all with the motion. After figuring out how to turn on the HDR, I played a couple 4K enhanced games on my Xbox One X and they looked and played beautifully! Highly recommend this TV if you are a gamer. Lastly, watched a couple episodes of Planet Earth II and even the dog was impressed as he was more atune to this that my son. Black Friday pricing started early, don't hesitate to give this TV a look if you are in the market to upgrade to 4K!

Great Color but Very slow APP, Bad bad remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv support bluetooth, but it does not have bluetooth remote. Remote is very slow and its bulky . Apps are sluggish. When you click something you have make sure you point to TV and wait for 3 seconds to see the effect (Samsung is best even in low tier TVs like MU6300). colors and picture quality are perfect. Can we get better Bluetooth remote that can work instantly ? Do I need to buy Roku or Apple tv ?

Love this TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new TV! I upgraded from a true 240 hz HDTV and am blown away by the quality of the 4K picture on the 900E. It was faily easy to setup and get going. It took me a while to understand when I was actually streaming something in 4k or HDR or if it was only 1080. Figured out my netflix account needed to be upgraded to stream 4k! Movies look great. Netflix streams great from the tv app. My Xbox One S games and streaming look amazing! The HDR picture is stunning. Definitely happy with this TV purchase and I highly recommend this TV.

Broke after 4 months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this in November 2017, in February of 2018 the television broke. I have spent 4 months trying to get Sony to honor the warranty and repair, but they refuse to do anything but troubleshooting, which has done nothing.

Loved it for the 4 days it worked!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Four days later it broke would not get power. Sony sent me a new power box. Still wouldn’t work. Sony wanted to have a repairman come fix it! I return the TV to Best Buy. Best Buy is awesome on the returns and customer service.

Excellent Television
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to buy this TV because my wife and I were looking for a larger TV with a clear picture that didn't blur during sporting events. I read many reviews and ratings and decided on this TV. I usually buy Samsung but this is even better than their 9000 series TVs so I took the plunge. I haven't experienced much 4K content on it yet but football looks amazing and so does XBOX One. Sony really nailed it with the 900's. The good news is that I can get my price adjusted once it drops to $1,499 on black Friday.

Spectacular (except for the remote...)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We upgraded from an 8 year old Samsung 50" plasma that cost $1300 new. We were originally going for the Samsung KU800 but it was no longer in stock and the current model (MU800) was poorly reviewed (not a great value) all over the net. We are thrilled that we decided to stretch our budget on the Sony. Pros: Beautiful picture, really good sound (for a flat panel), great smart functions (it is hooked up to ethernet), great professional reviews (on the web), beautiful construction, thrilled with our purchase. Cons (NOTHING to do with the function or quality of the TV): poor documentation/instructions, weak remote (must be pointed directly at the TV to work), confusing remote function (compounded by the lack of written instructions), nothing explaining the IR repeater included in the package, the remote is not universal (I have a simple system; fios cable, tv, dvr, sound bar) - guess I will continue to use my Harmony. Without any adjustment, it seems a bit too bright. It comes ready to work with wifi. I had to make a menu choice to work over ethernet. I have been able to tweak some of the settings and seem to have arrived at a nice middle ground. Although the off-center viewing is frequently noted in reviews, I believe it is acceptable for occasional use - you can still see everything in the picture, just not as spectacular as seeing it from the front. Love the android apps and they function flawlessly. No buyer's remorse here...

Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The television was a present for my husband's birthday. Once removed from the box and packaging it was discovered the screen had a sizable crack. Arrangements were made for the tv to be picked up and returned.

Best 4K UHD tv for me
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was at Bestbuy trying to decide between this and the LG OLED. Been at the store multiple time. And research on on YouTube for review. Decided to buy this TV and took it home. TV has great clarity and with the right picture setting makes you feel like your in a movie theatre. Speaker is mediocre but that a given on slim TVs . Bought this because of the option headphone Jack or subwoofer output which a lot of newer TVs only have optical output. Have this together with a bose soundbar makes a great combo. The android OS is another plus.. not the fastest but a lot of useable app that I can utilize Have this for over 3 months and still enjoying every moment I use it Would definitely recommend to anyone 900 series rocks

Fantastic Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally chose the curved Samsung 8500 only to be disappointed in some washed out shots. The picture on this Sony is amazing and was the same price! Love it and can't justify spending more on an OLED .

Beautiful Picture and Great Computer Monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned the Sony 65XBR900E for a month and a half and I love it. The picture is stunningly beautiful, it has the right inputs and works well with the remote. I researched several TVs and was leaning toward Samsung but saw that this TV had better picture quality, especially in dark areas of a scene. I run the Netflix app with excellent results. The High Dynamic Range (HDR) is remarkable and you can see all the detail in the picture. The TV can connect by WiFi on both 2.4 and 5 GHz band and I have not had to wait for Netflix to buffer. The IR Blaster was easy to set up with my cable box - the TV guides you through the process including testing. I love that I only need one remote. I like the Sony remote better than Samsung’s minimalist design. Buttons are helpful, especially number buttons. I primarily use the TV as a computer monitor. The Windows desktop is ridiculously spacious at 4096 x 2160 resolution but I mostly run at 1920 x 1080. Setup was a little tricky because I could not remember my Google password and there was nothing on the screen to allow me to go back. Because this is my monitor, I could not look up my password. I called tech support and was quickly guided to the Back button on the remote. The TV has a relatively small rectangular base, which makes it perfect for a shelf. I love all the inputs on this TV. In addition to plenty of HDMI inputs in has a component input for my old DVD player. The newer model gives up the analog inputs. The TV also has Chromecast built in. I use the optical out to my Hi Fi. One complaint: I get a hiss on the headphone output with one pair of my headphones. I don’t know if that is the fault of the TV or the headphones. Overall this TV is just what I wanted and I’m very happy with the purchase.

Excellent TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Samsung 7150 65 inch. That TV had it all, clouding, blooming, flash lighting, terrible black levels. I had that TV for a couple of years. Eventually all sources experienced stuttering and jitter. I could not stand it any longer and decided on this set, Sony X900E. I will never purchase another Samsung again. This Sony is now my all time favorite. Absolutely no flash-lighting, light bleed, clouding or blooming. Colors are vivid, fast moving pictures are smooth, blacks are inky dark, I could not be happier with price. I'm so glad I decided on this set, originally I wanted an OLED. But with all of the reports of burn-in and other problems I decided the OLED cost wasn't worth the potential hassle. This X900E will hopefully last for years come. Also, I purchased the 2 year protection plan and had paid for geek squad to mount the TV. They did a fantastic job mounting this 65 inch over my fireplace. It was absolutely worth it. I'm now seriously contemplating buying the 49 inch version of this TV, which has the same technology as the 65 inch. Also, a note on sound. before I attached my external sound system, I had the pleasure of listening to this TV's audio and it is definitely above average. It has front facing speakers rather than down firing speakers and sounded surprisingly good.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV, Great picture. the OS is VERY slow & the remote is just as slow when it works, which is about 2/3 of the time...and I'm less than 12' away VERY FRUSTRATING! Awesome picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went out on Cyber Monday this year and purchased the Samsung 8000 series because Best Buy associate said the Samsung picture was very comparable to the Sony X900E. Set up Samsung and boy was I disappointed. The blacks were terrible with picture looking pixelated at times and was not as bright as I thought it would be. I returned a couple of days later and upgraded to the Sony X900E. Wow!!!! What a difference in picture. The blacks are great and the picture was just amazing. Bright and vivid!!! Best picture I have seen. I would put this up against a much more expensive OLED screen. If picture is what’s important to you this is the best TV out there for price. Just an awesome TV.
