Amazing TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Exceptional picture, design and quality. for $1500, this TV blew away all others on display and now that it's home it's even better once I set it up correctly. Coming from a 8 year old cheap 49" LCD to this, I knew I should see some improvement, but wow, am I amazed at the quality. the bezel is thin, paired to my AppleTV 4K the picture is exceptional with all sources. at night black level is great. I couldn't be happier! works great with ARC/CEC to make everything just work as one device!

Signs of a slow death
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first 2 days was great. Great picture with the 4K and HDR for gaming. Around the third day, strange things began to happen. TV at times would be extremely unresponsive. Worse of it all, the TV would randomly restart: sound goes out first, then the screen goes blank, and the TV reboots. During the reboot, the TV is unresponsive. This first occurred while watching a movie. The reboot was quick and I thought some button was accidentally pressed. As time went on, the occurrence became more frequent and the unresponsiveness got progressively worse. I contacted Sony support and was recommended to first try a "manual forced factory reset" even though I had already done one via the TV menu. The link I was given mentioned to do a factory reset via the TV menu if you can...and if you can't should you proceed with the "manual forced factory reset". Same issue occurred and now the TV is completely unresponsive. I plan on returning this and getting an exchange for another x900e. Perhaps I got a defective one. At first I figured it was a bad Android OS but now I certainly feel it's defective hardware. If the new one works, I may bump up the rating to another star. If not, I'll see how well Sony does for their customer service. My family largely has regarded Sony as top of the line. I'm not sure Sony products deserves that esteem...I've been seeing so many quality control issues with Sony products.

Great TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a great TV. I bought it as a temporary tv to get me thru a year or two until OLED's got better...but this tv has been so good that I still have it today and haven't felt the need to upgrde it. You can't go wrong with Sony, they are just quality.

Best in class 4K
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Sony Bravia XBR-65X900E, sight unseen. The Best Buy sales rep, told me it was available for purchase, but not out on the sales floor, and they only had one available. I took the hook and ran with it!!! I saw the 2016 floor models and in comparison to Samsung and LG, both of which I've had in the past, this TV took em out of the market for its, everything factor. In other words, Sony thought of everything for this TV!!! Best picture I've ever seen, deep blacks with crisp vivid colors, processing speed is awesome!!! Sony is a leader in electronics and it's obvious!!! 4K at its best!!! Enjoy the future of television!!!!

Great Picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent PQ for the money. I purchased the 75 inch also a few weeks earlier and was so impressed i decided on this 65 for the Master bedroom. Still might be several years before we see alot more 4k content but its coming. Both of the Sony displays depict outstanding Picture Quality with ATT Uverse 1080 content & the 4K played feed from the Sony X800 BD player, & 4k Youtube & Netflix is great. ,

BEST TV EVER
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't believe how good this TV is. I was going to get the LG OLED, which is easily the best TV out there, but apparently, it can get burn in lines. Plus, it's $1500 more than I spent, and only a little better. This TV is so much better than anything I've ever seen before. The 850 model was good, but the store had the 900 model just above the 850 so it was super easy to compare them. The 900 has HDR with much deeper color and contrast. It was a no-brainer. It's so amazing, and we've been watching all the 4K HD shows on Netflix just because it's so satisfying. The remote works just fine and the menu system is adequate for my needs. I love this TV with all my heart and highly recommend it!

Amazing TV with great picture quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My main TV is an OLED, but I had tried a different LED TV for the basement on,y to be plagued by flashing white lines. We got my wife. 55 inch X900E for Xmas, so I was eying the 65 inch version. Sony has had a great reputation in TVs going back decades. When the Suoer Bowl pricing was the same as Black Friday I jumped on this TV. At sale prices this is an amazing TV, sure there are brands that offer more features for less money, but Sony just does an amazing job with video processing. Look at the websites that measure the actual performance of TVs and you will see that this TV is popular for a reason. It gets very bright, has superb colors and accuracy and image processing. So why 4 stars? As great as this TV is there are a few short comings. First a TV of this caliber only has 2 full bandwidth HDMI ports meaning only 2 ports can handle full 4K 60Hz HDR. That alone made me pause because it means I have to give up a device or jump through hoops to set this TV up to use how I want. The second issue is Sony's weak CPU for the built in Android TV and the poor implementation of Android TV. Sony's implementation is an unfair tarnish on Android TV. Slow, bloats and buggy implementation. For me I minimize this by not using the built in OS and use external devices, but this is where the lack of full bandwidth HDMI ports makes it painful. The final short coming is the lack of Dolby Vision. While Sony’s implementation on other TVs has been buggy it would have been nice for Sony to to,have planned ahead. That said most services support HDR10 so at least you are not missing out on HDR. There is still some debate on really how much better Dolby Vision is and I feel it is only an advantage in certain circumstances. This TV delivers and exceptional picture at a great price point, especially when on sale.
