Quality: Above & Beyond
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this gorgeous 4K television one week before Black Friday for the reduced price of $1,500 & I am one happy camper! I upgraded from a 1080p 40-inch Sony Bravia & the picture was immediately apparent! The TV produces an unbelievable picture for ALL my needs: PS4 Pro, upscaled Comcast at 4K quality compliments of my Onkyo TX-656 & the Sony UBPX800 4K player. Like many others, I spent MONTHS researching which 4KTV to purchase & I will admit that I'm biased towards the Sony name for TVs. But the overwhelmingly positive reviews were there on a consistent basis & the price was absolutely right! This television is the centerpiece of my new & improved home theater system. I recommend this revelation of a 4KTV without ANY hesitation whatsoever!

Average at best....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV to replace a Samsung 8000 Plasma. I had the 900E for just over a month and I had to exchange it for an OLED. It wasn't fair to try and compare the black levels from my plasma. The technology just isn't there on LED. Sony has made a great comeback, but coming from a Plasma an OLED is the only way you'll be satisfied. Phenomenal for a $1500 TV, but that is exactly what it is. Great gift for the kids at Christmas with a new PS4 Pro. Cheers!

In 11 months or ownership & Sony unable to repair
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV was purchased with Sony sound bar and surround speakers. Best Buy delivered & set up. We purchased Best Buy's extended 5 year warranty. Intermittent sound problems day 2 of ownership. Sound goes static but you can hear the pitch of static change when someone is speaking. It can sound like someone talking through an echo chamber. Audio drops out when going from commercials to program and from program to commercial. It has dropped out from 5 seconds to approximately 10 minutes. We verified cable signal by recording signal and replaying to the TV. Cable company has replaced the cable to the house twice and the cable box 4 times even though they found no issues. Best Buy exchanged the sound bar which did not fix issue. They recommended that we buy better quality audio cables than provided by Sony, which we did and also tried the optical audio cable recommended by Best Buy. Best Buy recommended that we work through Sony until the end of the Sony 1 year warranty because the extended warranty would only do 1 repair/replacement during the 5 year extended warranty. Every time we contact Sony warranty help desk they give us a long list of things to test/try. Every time we call we update the software and check cable signal prior to trying Sony's recommendations. Nothing has worked. Now we are also experiencing loss of picture. Screen goes black for 10seconds to 15 minutes. The last 3 or 4 calls to them we have been promised that the next time they will escalate it to the higher "warranty resolution". To date they have refused to escalate as we need to try one more thing. So far they have sent repair technicians twice; once when the TV blew the power module and the second time when they sent someone out to replace the connection module. The problems described above continue although the sound issues have become less frequent except for the loud popping noise that has started to happen There is only one more module in the TV for them to replace. They still want us to try more things that might help fix the issue or help them diagnose the problem and we continue to do their trials. This has been going on for 11 months and I keep pointing out that the warranty is coming to an end. I tell them I need the TV fixed or extend the time for the original warranty. They have said that if I don't get it fixed by the end of warranty that ends their obligation. They did say that if they can't fix it in the warranty period and I force them to replace the TV it will be someone else's TV that they reconditioned. I bought a new TV, I want it replaced with a new TV. If they can't fix mine how do I know that they fixed the other TV they had to take back because they couldn't fix it. I would like to get my money back and buy a new TV (different brand name) from Best Buy.

Very happy with purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought an XBR65X850E because my girlfriend didn't want me to spend more than $1000 and still wasn't pleased with me for getting that one. But after a little research I decided I really wanted to greater brightness and local dimming and convinced her by getting her an iPad. So I returned the 850E and got the 900E. What a difference, this thing is awesome. I want a second one now to upgrade the bedroom TV. This was all a few weeks ago and the other day I say to her "admit it, you love this thing" and she says to me "I'm kinda falling in love with this TV". I have nothing bad to say about it.

Glad You Are Back Sony
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am in love with this television! For years, I have waited for Sony to return to it's place at the forefront of electronics and this tv proves that they are back. No other set on the market can provide the quality picture for the price that this one does. Thank you Sony!

Outstanding Picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being a Sony fan for years, for whatever reason I originally purchased a Samsung UN65MU8000FXZA from Best Buy taking advantage of their free delivery. However after 3 days I could not get the picture adjusted to my liking. So I purchased this TV and was able to have Best Buy pick the other tv up when they delivered this one. I turned it on and literally within 5 minutes I had the colors set to my liking. The Samsung seemed washed out - this Sony is clear, crisp, sharp and the colors seem much more true-to-life. Definitely satisfied and would recommend!! And 2years 0% interest was icing on the cake!!!

Mediocre TV experience for a premium price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can honestly say that after 6 years of ownership, this Sony TV has been "meh". I was super excited to get the latest tech and be proud of finally being able to afford an expensive Sony set. Well, I can tell you no more. For such an expensive TV, the menu's were laggy, the updates were few and far between, and the fact that the AC adapter just up and died was just frustrating. Doubly-so because Sony decided to make the AC Adapter completely proprietary connections for what is actually a very standard power supply.

Beautiful TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this tv for about over a week, love playing my ps4 pro on it but i found one dead pixel and the edges and sections around the screen seem to be brighter than they should be. Local dimming helps but i don't know. I would try and return it but my brothers wife used her best buy credit card for me and i rather not bother her again. I got a 5yr warranty so should be good.

Beautfiul TV - Defective Hardware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I reviewed several tv's before purchasing this model, and after about 4 months the signal from the cable box or xbox would be lost. Unplugging the HDMI and plugging it back in would usually fix it, but then it would happen again. More frequently as time went on. Sony customer service required me to call and do a bunch of troubleshooting and then wait to see if it was working properly. When it did not, I had to go through more troubleshooting before they eventually sent someone out to do the repair. The 3rd party repairman shared that he has been fixing a ton of these tv's and they all have the same hardware issues. Sony should have done a recall or just scheduled appointments instead of wasting my time. It is a great tv, but will waste your time.

Best Tv for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Magnificent picture, worth the money. Compared with LG and Samsung this is way better. If you wanna enjoy true colors, this is the TV. No one can beat SONY since they have the best true color picture quality.

Worth the Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a 930d watcher until the screen died after less than 2 years! Cost was as much as a new tv to repair. I am willing to give Sony 1 last shot. All that said, stunning picture and happy with how well this tv has show 4K. Only 1 gripe.... I watch the 4 Major sports and when it comes to NHL content the puck sometime is a blur. (yes I have adjusted picture modes). IF DECIDING 930E AND THIS UNIT, SAVE THE CASH... 900E ALL THE WAY.

Can't Keep up with fast paced sports
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I set up my TV last night with an HDMI box and HDMI cables but when I tried to watch football the players seemed to be breaking up as they moved. I also attempted to watch hockey and the puck would skip or disappeared when passed or shot at high speed. Can someone help me with this?

Best non OLED TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hands down the best picture quality at this price point. I recommend getting the TV calibrated bc it really does get the full potential out of the TV. Football mode is outstanding when watching games on Sundays. Audio is what it is. Anyone that’s purchasing a 4K TV shouldn’t expect to get a true home theater experience without a surround sound. Regardless what TV you have.

Great picture. Terrible audio video sync.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did alot of reviewing before i bought this tv. Awesome picture and hdr. The problem comes in when you connect your home surround system to it. The audio video sync is horrible. After searching for a fix it seems all i can do is return this beautiful display back and find one that will work with a home surround system.

A little glitch, but otherwise good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this Sony to replace a 55 in Samsung that we moved to another room. The picture quality is great. We bought the sound bar that goes with it. The only complaint we have is when you change channels, we get a popping type noise. Going to video it and show it to Best Buy to see what we can do to fix it. Will update this review when we find out what the problem is.

Excellent TV- Question for Sony is Stand/Back Tilt
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent TV, Picture, lots of options to customize picture. Looks fantastic. Only issue that I would like to hear from Sony on, is the included stand seems to be setup to TILT the tv back at the top. We have the TV up high on built in so it is noticeable... Sony- is this supposed to happen?
