We purchased the Sony XBR65X930E. 65 inch with 4k Ultra HDR and it works perfect so far. We have owned it a couple weeks and love the picture. It's so clear and bright from corner to corner. The sound without a sound bar is pretty nice also. Couldn't be happier with our choice.

    Stunning Picture

This is a fantastic TV. The upscaling is very immersive. It does not artifact even with the lowest broadcast resolution while upscaling. it is as if you are looking through a window onto the production set. The blacks and contrast are phenomenal. The colors are brilliant and lifelike. The only thing lacking is the onboard speakers. We went with the Sony HT390 sound bar and wireless bass module which works seemlessly with the remote for the TV. It would also be nice to have the option to add channel apps from the google store.

After 6 years, 2 months & $1600, the $10 IC regulator (insures 12v power) burned out. We used to having to SHOOT TVs decades older than this, just to get rid of them.

So big!!! Upgraded from an 65” Sony XBR that was about 5 hrs old to this 75” unit! The picture quality is amazing and the Google TV is much more refined/easy to use.

First tv that compares to my plasma

Having gone through buying several tvs to try and replace my plasma, i finally found one that can compete. The black levels are not quite a dark but close enough. The motion handling and color accuracy are very good though. A great led tv four the price.

Bluray and streaming 4k are great, cable not

Basically I had bought a un65ks8000 Samsung since I am a Samsung loyal customer. I had it for 10 days and multiple settings and could not stand watching cable, which is 90% what my wife and I watch. I went to local store and told the guys my issue and they said Samsung is no longer the best and to get LG OLED but I couldn't afford that so they were all hyped up on this Sony 900e. I have had it 10 days now and been on forums and Sony help desk and geek squad and Spectrum cable co to try and fix this hard to look at cable picture. I went to the store again and we tried expensive (4K) hdmi cables and multiple settings and the cable is unwatchable. I actually prefer the Samsung over this as far as cable watching and they are about the same in all other aspects. The store would not take it back since I returned the first Samsung for same issue. They say its my issue and not the TV. Bummer So the conclusion is, if you want to buy a new 4K TV but you are used to plasma/LED technology from last 10 years, you will not like the cable watching. It looks blurry, snowy, fuzzy and streaks. 4k viewing is pretty darn close on all TV's so get something cheaper.

Great picture, sound not so much

I read hundreds of reviews on this and similar different brands, on lower and upper models. This Sony model has almost no negative reviews. The picture is flawless! Watching the Olympics on this is so clear, and in slow motion you see everything! The only thing that could be better is the sound. It is good and clear, but a little more bass would give it five stars.

I bought this TV to replace my Samsung 8 series(2017 model) and it was THE BEST DECISION EVER! The Samsung is still a very good tv....but this is a GREAT TV! There is just a huge quality difference.

Overall this is an awesome TV. The picture quality is great, but the menu is slightly laggy (I can totally live with it). The only problem I had (and so not giving a 5 star) is that for a while, the TV refused to turn on occasionally, and I had to unplug it and plug it back again. but it seems after the latest update this issue is fixed.

I like the picture quality but am annoyed with the fact that if you want descent sound you need a soundbar. Regular tv looks and sounds good but when watching a movie a sound bar is needed. I recommend watching "Avatar" when the tv is first set up because the picture quality will blow your mind.

    Great TV, Poor Software

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The only con about this TV is it’s slow response time to inputs on the controller. It takes about 3 seconds or longer to load the menu or access the Input ports menu to switch between your Xbox/PS4 or whatever you have plugged in via HDMI. This Tv uses android TV which is good, but the Tv has a difficult time responding quickly to what you tell it to do. Luckily you can just use a separate device to watch Netflix without needing the smart tv features. My biggest gripe is switching between input ports. The screen is superb and speaker quality is great. Best bang for your buck right here.

Sony TVs are ruined by their OS.

    Posted .

I am a huge Sony loyalist. My family have always had sonys, they always had great picture quality from their very good image processing engines and they lasted many years. We just upgraded to a 4k Smart TV (X900e) and for the price, it was a great value. While researching online through AVS forums, Best buy reviews, and other online forums, I noticed many owners were complaining of a terrible, laggy, buggy, and down-right slow OS. I fell in love with the positives of the TV that I ignored them and purchase anyway. Sadly I had problems from day 1. The TV would be very slow to respond to simple changes like increasing the volume. Sometimes it would take about 3-4+ seconds just for the on-screen display to pop up with the volume. Other times, it wouldn't register what I had pressed on the remote. Navigating the in-built apps was slow and laggy about 70% of the time. Sometimes it would work fine. One of the worst issues was that our X900e would constantly drop the wifi connection even during the middle of content playing on Netflix or Youtube. We have a 150mbps RCN wifi connection close by and so the dropouts were frustrating. Also, the TV would take over 3 minutes everytime it was turned on to connect to wifi, sometimes would not connect unless done manually under network settings. After all this trouble we decided it's not worth it to stay. Our family loves sony's image quality but the Android TV OS on Sonys is just awful. We paid more and upgraded to an LG OLED and its Operating system is light years ahead of Sony. It. JUST. WORKS! Simple, intuitive and FAST. best of all no internet wifi dropouts and constant immediate wifi connection when the TV is turned on. I would actually love to get Sony's A1E OLED but again, a terrible OS ruins Sony's new TV lines.

    Terrible Customer Service from Sony

    Posted .

This has been the most disappointing buying experience of my life. I've spent nearly 5 hours on the phone with Sony and Comcast trying to figure out why my TV won't produce a decent picture and have received ZERO help on Sonys end. After being transferred up through MULTIPLE tiers of support, they literally told me to return the TV versus trying to help me. SONY could care less about the sell of 1 TV - they even admitted it. I'm getting this thing picked up by Best Buy and never looking back. I had better customer service with Comcast and that's saying A LOT. Sony is officially the worst in the business.
