Nice picture, bad lip sync
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV a few weeks ago but had to return it. There is a very bad lip sync issue with Sonos and this TV. I spent hours on the phone with geek squad, Sonos, and time warner. I tried swapping out optical cables, cable boxes. I tried hard resets, and every setting avail. Unfortunately anything else in this price range is edge lit. Anyways f you don't have Sonos this is a good TV with a good picture. I had to return though. Just google X900E Lip Sync issues before you buy this.. Very common on forums across the web.

Service Needed 3months in
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased TV on July 4 2017 and a Sony technician needs to visit my home to fix it. Have only my cable box and a PS4 with high end HDMI cables attached. Highly disappointed in Sony. This is the only TV in my apt and I paid a premium for the Sony brand with expectations it would last multiple years without issues. Now without my TV for an extended period of time for repair. Never buying Sony again after this.

Great picture, terrible audio sync issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This television has an amazing picture! After a careful review of what is out there in the market for this price point, it is hard to come up with another 65" set that compares to the Sony 900E. Unfortunately, there are two big flaws with this TV: 1) Optical audio sync issues. As reported by other users, the audio delay when using the optical out (which is required for most soundbars, including the Sonos Playbar that I own) is very noticeable. This is highly concerning and may result in me returning the TV as I cannot find a solution anywhere on the internet. Even Sony's troubleshooting guide is light on solutions. 2) The TV OS is underpowered and slow. This seems like a simple enough issue to correct when designing this product, unfortunately it was overlooked. The work around here is to use Fire TV, AppleTV or similar streaming boxes to run apps, which is an okay solution for me. Ultimately, if I cannot find a solution for #1, this big, beautiful set is going back to Best Buy.

Great TV, Possibly a few software gremlins
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV as open box Best Buy Certified and had issues with the tv shutting off randomly... I called Sony tech support and went through factory resets and other troubleshooting.. Sony was ready to replace the tv under warranty but when I sent them the receipt, they said the warranty is not valid as its a open box. Best Buy says that is not true and the warranty is valid. Right now, I think it is Sony who is not standing behind their product and I think that is quite unfortunate and sad. I hope Sony Corporate seeing this and changes their tune. They are possibly losing a loyal customer .

Great TV but the software is a pain
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the TV overall except that every time I turn on my Apple TV it takes 2 minutes to go through the Android boot up sequence.

Don't buy this TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony Bravio TV's are having a problem with not powering on due to an Android update. Sony has the worst customer service I've every had to deal with. Spent $1500 on a 4K smart TV that is now worthless because it wont turn on no matter what. DO NOT BUY THIS TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great TV...For two months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture on this tv is absolutely beautiful, when it worked for the two months I've owned it. Then the red lights of death started blinking and Sony Customer Service stepped in and ruined my whole Sony experience. BTW, they no longer make this TV and it is not in inventory. The one they will replace it with is the 900F which as a much wider (unuseable in my case) tv stand and they will not listen when trying to have a different option provided. I now get to purchase new furniture to place the tv on and completely rearrange my living space to accommodate a tv I did not want. I'll never own a Sony product again, and will tell everyone to steer clear.

Broke within the week
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One day it was working fine with my cable connection, the next day I had no audio. The same cable and cable box produced audio on a different TV. Tried resetting and starting over. No luck. Tried just to run off the antenna. The setup never go past "Now tuning . .." I will be returning this TV.

Horrible Customer Service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchsed a new XBR900E. About 5 months after I bought it, the TV goes black and I get a red light flashing 4 times at the bottom of the Tv. After several hours of troubleshooting with Sony, they tell me the only thing they can do is offer me a refurbished unit to replace it. Unacceptable. I did not buy a used TV, I do not want it replaced with a used one. What's even more sad is I just bought a 2nd 65" XBR850E for another room in the house last week. Crossing my fingers that one doesn't go bad as well. Never again, Sony. This could've been handled much more professionally.

Terrible Sony Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV has good picture, but failed after only 4 years. No longer turns on. I've used Sharp, Toshiba, Samsung and all have lasted 10+ years and still going, this expensive Sony TV failed after only 4 years. Terrible quality for an expensive TV. Will not recommend Sony.

3 years in and it won’t turn on
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV stopped turning on right at 3 years old. Power source and brick have been ruled out as the issue. Now have to pay for a service tech to come diagnose it. Hoping for an inexpensive repair but that is ridiculous for a 3 year old TV that doesn’t even get used often.

firmware update broke sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The latest firmware update from Sony causes crackling when changing channels and loud prolonged "beeps" when using DVR functions from Dish Hopper 3 and various set top boxes. Sony will not give update of when this will be fixed, only ASAP. For now, do not accept updates if you purchase this TV until fixed. Everything else about this television is awesome.
