I have this TV for just 30 hours or so, and there's huge difference between the 930d to this one, viewing angle is way better, I haven't noticed any light bleed, HDR is amazing, and the colors unbelievable, I'm so happy with this purchase.

I researched TVs for longer than I'd like to admit. From a quality and price standpoint, this is the sweet spot for Sony if you aren't willing to tap into your kids college fund to buy an OLED. 10x's brighter than my old Sony for sure and worth the price for the one of their best processing chips. Great for watching sports with no streaking!

Just want to start by saying that I usually don't write reviews. However, I am so pleased with this Sony TV that I felt like I needed to share my experience. I just got my Sony 930D 2016 model replaced by the 2017 930E and "WOW", what a difference. Last year's model had too many small issues that was ruining the experience for me. Probably not a big deal for many people. From banding, dark patches, and artifacts, I just could not handle it anymore. I am glad I upgraded to this one.The 2017 930E black levels, movements, processor, colors, and uniformity is just amazing. I love this TV and I believe to be one of the best ones out there. There is still some blooming due to the fact that this is an edge-TV, but it is barely noticeable. The 4K upscaling on cable channels is top notch. Watching sports on this TV is exactly what I wanted for a while. Love it and recommend it to anyone who is on the fence.

Received my XBR65X930E yesterday. I did a lot of research on two Sony TVs, the XBR65X930E and the XBR75X940E. It came down to the $2000 price differential between the TVs. I couldn’t justify the $2K difference. The XBR65930E is an excellent TV with outstanding up-scaling of lower resolution video. I saw some posts asking about picture settings. If you do a Google search on “Sony KD-55XE9305 Best TV Picture Settings” (KD-55XE9305 is the European version of the 930E), you will find some excellent settings for the XBR65X930E. Also a shout out to the Geek Squad that installed my TV, these guys were great! Very knowledgeable about Sony TVs and setting them up. This TV is heavy, it takes two people to set it up, glad I had the Geek Squad do it.

I bought an XBR65X830D and put it in my den and while it had a good picture the reflective light was ruining my tv watching experience. I moved that one to another room and bought the XBR65X930E and wow! The picture is incredible, bright and has dark smooth blacks. I have been casting 4K videos to it and it is simply incredible. There is still some reflection from room and sun light but it is not bad and when you get the lights down the picture is the best I have ever owned. The speakers on this TV are decent as well. While I will be using my surround sound system I was impressed with the speakers that are built into the TV. Really like and am enjoying this TV!

I absolutely love this tv. Purchased it on a Black Friday special. It was built to last, progress wise. The size is perfect for my living room area. I’m so glad I went big and took it home. The tv itself is very heavy though, so having an extra pair of hands would definitely help when setting up. The rear of this unit is just as nice as the front. All the wires and plugs are hidden by beautifully crafted panels. The nits on this tv are bright, which is needed for hi-def content. There is some slight ghosting (light spreading onto darker regions) with subtitles or from bright objects on screen, but nothing too drastic or enough to distract you from the program you are viewing. OLED would have been a better alternative for those looking for deeper blacks. But I chose this LED panel for it’s brightness, wide viewing angles, size and quality. I was a bit skeptical to chance it on an oled and risk screen burn in. I have fallen asleep countless times or have the habit of leaving content on pause, while being distracted with other things. On occasion, slight grains or imperfections may be visible from up close. But that can be either from the content material, or how I have it set up with the internal settings. The tv can also be calibrated, to dial in the best settings. Although, out the box it has been working great. Is it perfect no, and technology substantially gets better over time. But I have been happy thus far and hopefully for years to come. I am planning to upgrade with a 4K bluray player. Standard bluray is great, but I know 4K Ultra HD content will pop/shine on this tv. My outdated Sony Bluray is starting to reach it’s end. The great thing about Sony/Bravia equipment though, such as with a Sony bluray player and Sony tv, is it will automatically adjust for the optimal settings and communicate well with each other, such as triggering on a connected device simultaneously or corresponding with the remote control commands. The thing about certain Sony bluray players though, is that you have to manually set the dolby atmos disc/program feature in it’s settings, while with the Panasonic I am opting for, will automatically register and playback when inserted. That was a major drawback for me on choosing another Sony player for Atmos/4k. I have heard good things about the Panasonic players, in regards to it’s quality and features. I have been using this Sony Bravia tv unit with a Sony Bluray player, Denon home theater receiver, Klipsch audio speakers/subwoofer, Audioquest hdmi cables/speaker wire/terminals, along with an Audioquest PowerQuest 3 surge protecter and line filter.

The BEST 4K HDR TV money can buy

I’ve had several Sony TV’s in the past. In 2014 I purchased my first Samsung, a 46” 240hz model. The 4K TV’s were just coming out and were astronomical in price. I tried in the months after to like this Samsung TV but there was just something about it. It didn’t have the warmth and clarity my Sonys had. So when the IRS check came in this year I went looking. This TV is just incredible. I recently joined the cord cutters club and am able to stream YOUTUBE TV thru it. No more cable. I’m saving $159 a month from my old bundled cable bill. With 24 month financing at ZERO interest? You bet I’m happy. I also went with a Rockitfish full motion wall mount. I can’t tell you how pleased I am with the Geek Squad installing my TV and wall mount. Chris and Myles did an outstanding job. They were meticulous, courteous and professional. They listened carefully to where I wanted the TV to be mounted and it was PERFECT. They hooked EVERYTHING up to the TV and made sure they left me with a fully functioning TV. Their work by far exceeded my expectations!!! This was my first time using the Geek Squad for an installation. I’ll definitely use them in the future. Thanks again for an outstanding job...!!!

Great TV for 4 years, then died suddenly.

The TV was excellent when it worked, bright colors, dark blacks, no shadows or sunlight washout in day time, 4k was even more impressive (on the occasional sports events available thru the xfinity 4k channels - the movies and tv shows that are labeled as being 4k look no different to me than “regular” HD shows). The problem is the TV died in 4 years. One day the screen showed everything with a rainbow border. Repair estimate over $2,000… which means it got replaced.

I researched 4k sets for several months trying to decide what we wanted to replace our 11 year old Samsung DLP. My wife wanted a brighter set, and I decided on the 65 inch Sony 930e. Not only does it have one of the brightest pictures available, but the upscaling performance of the X1 Extreme Chip was important because we get most of our viewing content from Verizon Fios, which does not deliver a 4k signal. This sets upscales everything, and 1080i looks almost as good as 4k. True 4k hdr content from Netflix and Amazon looks amazing. The only glitch was the first set we received had some streaks on the panel (probably from packaging material) that wouldn't come off with normal cleaning products, but Best Buy's Geek Squad quickly replaced the set.

    Poor quality control

Did months of research once my 2011 Plasma showed signs of its age and two house moves. Decided to go with a 65inch 930e based on very good reviews for a LED despite not being FALD. Received the first TV and about four days into the 14 day return period, noticed two vertical "transition zone lines of differing shades of a color" that aligned with the TV stand screws. Unfortunately once you see it, you can't not see it and find yourself more interested in finding the defect than whatever you are watching. It was obvious on a monocolor screen panning left or right. Otherwise the lines were less obvious if multiple colors were showing during a scene. Tried a blue ray, cable, and streaming content to see if HDMI related; defect still there regardless of content. Requested Best Buy replace it per their policy and they did no questions asked. The second TV was worse with one line more pronounced than the previous TV and visible during all scenes. What are the odds two 65 inch 930e would have an issue out of the box? I will say the 930e HDR looks very good if you like brights that pop and that is the reason we gave it one more shot with a replacement. Based on defects on two units, can't recommend the TV. Maybe we just got a bad lot.

We have had this since the beginning of 2018. It has been a great TV, with a picture that still rivals some of the newer, high end televisions we've purchased in the meantime. The picture is clear from a wide viewing angle. The only drawback is our particular model (which was from 2018), does not have earc and does not support atmos. This is a non issue unless you specifically want Atmos audio.

Just a quick review this tv is everything I hoped for. Great picture great features very very happy! Have only had it 2 weeks will write a more in depth review soon. One thing I will say is the so called 30 day free trial of sling tv is a complete joke! Dont waste your time with it! They want all your credit card info and you have to pick a package? Shameful! I deleted the app. What a waste of time!

We tried an LG OLED TV based on the great reviews it gets everywhere. To be sure, the picture is amazing with 4K content, but we were disappointed with regular cable, which we watch the most. Then we tried the 930E based on its upscaling reviews. The picture is also fantastic, but more important, it translates 1080p cable much better than the LG did. The viewing angle is narrow because of the screen type, but for our layout it has no impact. It works well when the room is dark and light. We have watched Netflix, as well as TV shows and sports through cable and could not be happier.
