    My Favorite OLED Yet

Coming from the A1E, this has minimal upgrades but I still enjoy them nonetheless. Dolby Vision definitely runs better. But the overall picture quality is still top shelf thanks to the Sony X1 Extreme processor.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to say something about this tv. I had an LG C8 OLED that was broken in a move (PS4 fell and hit it, sad day). Anyways, I went and checked out some options and decided to go with Sony. Let me tell you, this tv is amazing. I’ve always been a fan of OLED, and can say without a doubt that this tv is lighyears ahead of the competition. It’s life changing even! Get it.

Best tv minus the operating system.

I think we all agree that Android sucks. It’s a way better in my Sony 49” 900f. For whatever reason it lags on the OLED. Hopefully when the new update Android O rolls out at the end if the year it will be smoother. Otherwise the picture is amazing. If they made a 49” I would have went that as well in my bedroom instead of the 900f. The motion flow is better than LG and Samsung.

I bought the Sony A8F 4K UHD TV 2 months ago and I absolutely love it! It has the most beautiful picture and I'm so glad I decided to spend the extra money for an OLED TV. I highly recommend it.

I have a couple other 4K TVs (both LED), but neither comes remotely close to the picture quality of this one. The apps work well, the speakers are really solid. But the picture, man oh man, the picture. Beautiful.

    Great TV, but...

First, the TV picture and overall performance are near perfect. However, the on-screen menu is horrible. The screen is cluttered with apps that you'll never use and can't hide from the menu. My biggest beef, however, is that a very old version of Hulu is loaded and can't be updated because there is no update in the app store and nobody at Sony or Google (or whoever) seems to care. A TV that costs more than $3K should have the current version of all apps. Menu needs more functionality.

I'm not any kind of expert on TV technology, I just know I enjoy HD TV & have had great luck with Sony. So I went with this TV due to brand loyalty & the really good reviews from others. I just wanted to add my two cents. Also, I will probably not buy external speakers for this TV since the surface technology is much better than speakers on my other TV's.

    OK TV, should have waited.

Bought this TV about a month ago. Should have waited until the price began to drop before buying it. Even if it meant waiting a year or thereabouts. I say this because, after reading the various reviews (even on Amazon), I had high expectations for this TV. But what I experienced is this: the various APPS I use with this TV work well, has a good picture, and the black color is a true black color. Sharp picture as well. Sound can be a problem at times, so I'll probably have to buy a sound bar. I had one problem with it, just after the return period ended--funny how that always happens! I couldn't get the TV to connect to WIFI, even though I had been using it everyday. Nothing worked to get it resolved, until I decided to unplug the TV, wait about 20 or so seconds, then plug it back in. It's been a week since I did that, and it seems to be working fine. Hope that's NOT going to be a continual problem, or Sony will have a problem! Well, at least it is an improvement over the crappy Samsung 65" smart (actually. dump) 4K TV I had. At least Sony has good TV's! So, since it was lacking in meeting my expectations, I recommend to NOT buy it now, but when the price drops, substantially, then buy it.

Awesome first Oled....However I am experiencing screen lockups along with loosing TV input HDMI 2. tried replacing HDMI cable as well as cable box but still experiencing picture loss. May just be a manufacturing defect.

    Blacks lack detail. Dark screen

I purchased this tv today and returned it today. I played with settings for hours and came to a conclusion that the tv is just not bright enough. The dark blacks lack detail. Even though the tv has very nice vibrant colors I just don’t see it as a all purpose tv. Some action movies looked cool but I just can’t get over the lack of detail in the black. Almost looks smudged to me, i kind of disappointed because there was plenty of hype about the oled.

    Great TV with stuck pixels

Great TV out of the box until the first week when it got a stuck pixel. It may not sound like a huge deal except when you’re watching anything other then an animated show and there’s a red dot staring back at you. Don’t bother calling for help because these types of tv’s “often” experience these types of problems and it will go away eventually. Love spending over $3000.00 on a top of the line TV to stare at a red dot!

Dead pixel smack dab in the middle of the screen.

Geek Squad member came to look at the tv. Unfortunately, Sony's ridiculous stringent replacement policy requires 2 or more dead pixels for a replacement. Really? How bout' one? For a $3000 television, I expect better. I might have been able to overlook the pixel if it was in the far corner. But, once you see a white dot in the middle of your $3000 tv, you simply can't unsee it. So, I'll be returning this and will probably bring home a Samsung QLED instead.

    Expensive yearly repairs

I've been having plenty of problems with the TV randomly shutting off. It runs slow and regularly has issues. Sony support is not helpful. Unless you want to spend more than the price of the TV on repairs, you better find something else.

    System update broke ARC

Worked fine for a few months. Then I got a system update and now ARC no longer works. I can’t downgrade and Sony has no solution. Now I understand when people say they don’t like “smart” TVs.
