This TV is good,  very good sound and smooth wireless performance, which this TV has, the objectives in my particular situation for this new TV are; 1-Reduce clutter to eliminate multiple remotes and need for any external media playing devices. The TV is replacing a 2009 32” Sony 32XBR9, a Sony BDPS-3700 BlueRay-Streaming-Player, a WD TV Live Plus and a Yamaha YAS-107 sound bar. 2-Ability to play local media such as mp4, mkv, ISO and quicktime files located on either a SMB share or flash drive. 3-Watch local programming using an antenna for OTA (Over the Air) broadcasts. While the Logitech Harmony or equivalent would reduce the number of remotes, there still leaves the 2 media players and soundbar. The built-in video app does not support ISO but the TV can play these files using either VLC and KODI. Kudos to SONY for selecting Android TV as the OS. Been a SONY customer for over 30 years and wanted to stick with SONY. Their adoption of Android TV enables that. The Sony – Android TV combination is great! Being able to install the wealth of Android TV apps, including media players like VLC and Kodi places the Android TV OS on top. The TV has 3 USB ports. Copied some mp4s to 2 flash drives. Inserted both into TV, opened the video app and it was able to play video from either flash drive. Excellent. KODI and VLC, though different in setting up to see a SMB share, played all media types flawlessly. For the sake of testing, only installed approved Apps that are available from Google’s App store for Android TV. Besides VLC and Kodi, also installed a number of free and pay sites such as Tubi, PlutoTV, HayStack, PBS, ABC, NBC and CBS. All played beautifully, crisp, clean and stutter free. Side loading apps is possible but did not want to evaluate the TV with technically “unsupported” apps. Unfortunately, only the ABC affiliate WFTS-TV app content is very close to their OTA broadcast. The other network affiliates DO NOT offer essentially the equivalent of their local broadcasts without authenticating to a user’s carrier account which means, if you do not have Direct-TV, cable TV or FIOS TV, or you receive OTA, there is no way to receive the equivalent of their local broadcasts using apps and the internet. The sound output is very good, especially the surround simulation. Lacks a little in the low end frequencies, however, it sounds almost as good as the YAS-107 soundbar. In testing the ability of the TV to change directions quickly (as the saying goes) There has been only a couple of times where the TV was slow to change channels or switch apps. This was probably caused when quickly switching between multiple apps and OTA viewing. Interestingly, there were some apps, like VLC, where an exit or quit app option does not seem to exist. A power down (reset) fixed the issue. Other troublesome points and Wish List, --Not fond of the external power supply that powers the TV --Conspicuously missing, is a google browser, No Chrome? This seems to be an intentional Google oversight. Installed Puffin and it worked surprisingly well. Puffin played a number of website videos from a variety of sources. --As TV OS’s become more customizable with user apps and configuration, it is hoped that future releases of Android TV will have some sort of “backup” option. One might exist, but was unable to find it. --The stand, like other have commented. Sony should correct this in the next generation that employs this design. -As of this writing, there is no scheduled Andoid 9 update for this 2019 model year TV however Sony released Andoid 9 last month for other TVs. It is hoped that Sony releases the update for this TV. Android TV OS 10 is in beta. It will be interesting to see how Sony supports newer versions of the Android TV OS on existing models. -Inconsistent use of fast forward and reverse buttons from one app to another. This is not necessarily the fault of the TV but more how apps are developed to work with the myriad of remotes that are used with Android TV. In reference to the title of this review…. Decision time on whether to keep or return the TV is rapidly approaching. The only issue is OTA reception. NextGen TV products will be introduced at next week’s CES 2020. The migration that broadcasters are making should be in operation in over 50 markets by the end of this year. Using ATSC 3.0 technology, if widely adopted, will render the tuner in this TV obsolete, for OTA reception, within the next 5 or so years. There will be adapters available just like in 2009 when broadcast technology went to digital HD however, as stated in the beginning, one of the reasons for this TV purchase was the elimination of multiple remotes and media devices. I’m waiting till mid next week to see who introduces what at CES and attempt to gauge by the number of NextGen TV products before making a final decision. This concern only exists for those who receive local programming OTA with an antenna. This would not be a problem for those who obtain local programming from Direct-TV, a cable carrier or FIOS. The bottom line… If it were not for the NextGen TV broadcast changes beginning this year, the TV would definitely be a KEEPER!! The ability to install Android TV apps such as KODI and VLC is a huge plus for those, like me, who have media locally in a variety of digital formats-ISO, mp4 eg. This is a great TV!!

This TV is phenomenal. It has an excellent picture quality and awesome features. It's an Android tv that includes Google Play, Netflix and so many other apps are installed and can be installed. I hesitated buying such an expensive tv, but it was on sale for $799 regularly $1199. Sony never disappoints. I'm praying that it has a long life. It is definitely worth the money especially being that it was on sale. Either way it's worth the splurge.

I've owned the set for two weeks, and I couldn't be happier - this set is an extraordinary value. Easy to set up, fast, and responsive. Remote control works with cable box, DVR, and Apple TV without issue (although it takes a little getting used to). The interface is acceptable and natural to nav - especially for setting up preferences, signing into Google accounts, and using voice activation. TV is stable using provided feet with four contact points; it does not shake or wobble when someone is walking (or jumping if you have wee ones) in the room. The picture is quality is incredible. Streaming a favorite TV series, or 4K Dolby Vision optimized content is on-point with massively detailed darks and brilliant, tack-sharp colors. My favorite picture presets are "Cinema, and Dobly Bright" - genuinely fantastic stuff. For context, I upgraded from a < 10-year-old 46" HDTV. I stream all content, including broadcast and premium services TV series. For those not wanting to make the jump to OLED or stay within the sub-1000 dollar range, I highly recco this TV!

Beautiful picture. Easy setup. Speakers good. Remote easy to navigate. Great side view when watching. Upclose viewing is not the best but i didn’t get it to watch up close. Have had it for almost a month.Still playing with the settings but most of the time the factory settings are the best. Would buy again.

I've been a S**su*g guy for many years, but the quality and customer support went down hill. Everyone of them I own failed just over the year mark and they do not want anything to do with you. Never again. Everyone of them washed out and started showing what looks like bright spots on the screen. Switched over to Sony upon a recommendation from an audio/video expert friend of mine. He is the owner of a company that just uses Sony, so I went with it. I'm hooked. As the other brand dies, they will be replaced with Sonys. Unbelievable picture and now they are making them more affordable - more than the other brand, but well worth the extra few dollars. Go ahead with this gem, you won't be sorry - the quality and latest technology has Sony in the lead. Extremely happy with this purchase.

I purchased this mainly for ability to download and use apps especially for streaming as a alternative to cable. So far has been working good. Picture quality is like ultra HD, But not like a Qled screen. I was considering purchasing a different brand that I have used for several years, but, was disasppointed to learn it had limited streaming ability especially for a 2020 TV so I went with this 65" Sony. Pros: Screen ultra HD and colors are true with dolby vision. 240 motion rate is great with sporting events. 4 HDMI ports so all my devices are connected. HDMI ARC works great with a Sony sound bar. Many other connections are available as well. Set up was easy and the Sony remote learned all my connected devices. Support stands and frame are sturdy metal. Alot of picture and sound tweeking options if you desire. Works with Apple air play 2 Cons: Can't connect a windows 10 Laptop with miracast. Have to use other methods. My previous non-Sony TV found all my devices. Audio is standard so a sound bar would be usefull. Remote is rather large and cumbersome. I would still purchase this again over other brands!

I recently bought this 65 TV and it is really good. The picture, sound quality is good and it is very use to set-up, use. I ran into issues while connecting to my Apple TV 4k, but once I got it connected, I haven’t had any issues after that. I use HK 2.1 channel sound system with the TV, but it doesn’t directly turn on with switching on the TV (it used to with a Samsung TV I previously owned). Even though it is kind of little uncomfortable (as we need to turn on TV and Sound System separately), I cannot complain it on Sony as they have done a phenomenal job in developing their product. The best you get out of this TV (in terms of Picture Quality) is when you use this with Apple TV 4k (just with my experience). Thank you Sony!

A world class TV! Fabulous image quality. The built -in speakers are surprisingly good! Was easy to set up, works great with my cable box, streams so easily (I use a PS4 for streaming off of ethernet); but most unexpected was the ease of setting up chromecast AND airplay. Now I'm thinking of streaming from my iPhone instead of the PS4. I don't use the built-in Netflix or Google Apps yet (I don't know if I want to give Google any more [the last 1%] of my information than they already have). I'd buy this again, and I recommend it to anybody who wants a great 65 inch TV. I thought the price for a 65 inch Sony was also great.

This 800H blew me away! I haven’t even adjusted any settings for the picture, which is something I usually always do...it’s seriously that clear with perfect colors, brightness, etc. I returned a LG 81 series Nano 65” that was horrible to say in the least(very surprised cause LG had never disappointed me in the past). This Sony made me forget all about it. The setup was even impressive upon first power-up, very intuitive, and fast. The apps even work just as well, if not better, than my Apple TV 4K. This is my second Sony TV in the last two years. Bought a 70” for my bedroom, and now this 65” for the living room. They are worth every penny and then some.

This TV is amazing. 65 inches is the perfect size for a living room and 4K programs look fantastic, from football to brand new movies like Wonder Woman 1984 and Mulan. The Sony interface is one of the best I have ever seen and the menu navigation is flawless. All of my apps from Disney +, Hulu, ESPN+, Amazon Prime, Showtime Anywhere, and HBOMax work great. Additionally, being able to toggle between apps via the input button is welcomed. The ease of using the apps and the menu interface along with the amazing picture for movies and sports has won me over to team Sony for TVs. I cannot wait to test out a PS5 on this baby.

After 8 years with our old Sony TV, we decided to buy our first 4K TV. With budget in mind, we decided on this TV. I am surprised how simple it was to connect all of my devices and get this thing set up. I did have to spend some time finding the right settings that fit my preference. The pictures looks great, especially Netflix. So far, I am extremely pleased with this TV, especially at this price.

It’s actually very good. Upgraded from the 750h because I got a “lemon” or something was wrong with the processor. Using Sling and the screen constantly went black and then the tv would restart.. anyway, back to the 800. Very nice picture. Love having all the apps on the tv, so no need for roku, etc. I have it on “vivid” to have the extra brightness. Maybe a professional setup would make it amazing. Not sure. Colors are crisp and bright and realistic looking. Wish the refresh rate was better as there is some “halo effect” with fast moving objects, specifically the football being thrown during nfl games. Worth the $. Didn’t want to spend another $500-$1000 to go Oled. Pleased with purchase.

We had initially been sold an LG 65” by a blue shirt rep in the store, but he was pushing us to get into an LG. We wanted a Sony, and he continued to make excuses about how it would take weeks to get the Sony, so we cancelled the order 30 minutes after he sold us on the LG. We ordered the Sony through Magnolia, and the rep was here for us, instead of just wanting to make the sale. We picked up the Sony next day. It was the best TV we’ve had in our home. I needed two TVs for our cabin. I bought two LGs and returned them. Bought to high end TCLs and returned them. Bought two Sony's and love them. The color is the best and the viewing angle blows away the others by a mile. Sound is just OK but that's what sound bars are for. I really liked the Roku interface on the TCL but the color was funky, motion was horrible, and the viewing angle was pathetic.
