Troublesome tv, difficult operation

My phone should connect to it no problem, but it's a royal pain in the rear. Chromecast is entirely too hard to get to work. I've also had to reset it twice now because I don't get sound when using apps. For $1000 it should work flawlessly. Sure the picture looks good but connecting devices and overall ease of operation is complete garbage.

Do you have a soundbar, home theater system, or AV receiver connected to the TV? Also, If you have a device connected to the 3.5mm jack on the TV, the sound may not be out from both TV speakers and the device simultaneously, depending on your model. Sound and picture are amazing! They worked great together for about 1 month. After that, I no longer got sound from the sound bar on a consistent basis. Right at the 3 month mark, right after my return window closed, the sound bar stopped working altogether on this tv. I have spent time on the phone with Sony tech support. They were very helpful, resolved the issue. Then literally, the next time I turned on the tv, no sound from the sound bar. I have spent more time troubleshooting than I have enjoying the products. I can use the sound bar on other tv's (TCL), no problem. But not on this one. When you spend a lot of money on products you simply expect them to work. I should not have to call tech support every time I want to watch tv. I should not have to pay Geek Squad even more money to troubleshoot a problem that just resurfaces (especially after only owning both products for 3 months). I am now stuck with a brand new tv knowing I cannot enjoy movies and television as I wish. Disappointed is an understatement. I would not recommend Sony products if you want a home theater type experience. I would not recommend purchasing from Best Buy, because if there are issues, you will just be throwing more money at it to try and get it resolved. There are many other retailers out there that put customer satisfaction first.

Main boards are faulty, do not buy!

These UHD 4k Smart TVs are failing due to bad Main Boards typically less than 2 years after purchase and people are left with a dead (and very expensive) TV. Repair costs are more than the unit and will fail after 2 years max.
