I've been looking for a 4K TV for a while now and I'm ecstatic that I choose the Sony. First of all the picture is great and I love that Apple AirPlay is built in as I use my Mac for editing my photographs and being able to see it on a 65in TV is terrific. As for the picture the detail and image quality is is more than I expected for the price. The colors are incredible and I'm very excited to start binge watching Netflix and Disney+ as the TV has Dolby Vision which takes it to a whole new level. As for Android TV I guess I'll have to get used to it but so far its seems to be working good.

Could be better

DON’T BUY - HDMI ARC DOES NOT WORK
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.At this time of review (3/17/2021), the HDMI ARC function to a soundbar or receiver does not work. My wife and I spent $1000 on this tv, and a major function of the TV is inoperable due to a software issue. We have a Klipsch Cinema 600 soundbar (highly recommend) that I wanted to pair with my TV via HDMI ARC so we could reap the benefits of higher sound quality, and this TV has a software glitch wherein the external audio device is not recognized. No matter what you do in the settings, the external audio device will be recognized from 5-10 seconds, then disconnects. I tried all suggestions from Reddit and Sony, and nothing works. You can still use the Optical output of the TV to connect and external audio device, but these are more limited in sound quality. I’m very disappointed by Sony allowing faulty firmware to be on their TV. This should have been picked up by their Quality Control department. I will say this has an incredible picture, and the full-array backlight really helps with the picture. However, this tv is getting 2 stars until they can get the ARC feature working again. I would not recommend this product to anyone until this known issue is resolved. Quite frankly, it’s my first Sony tv that I’ve owned, and I would most likely stick with Samsung in the future.

Posted .Hi Lackluster, We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the TV not connecting with your soundbar. We'd love to troubleshoot the issue and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, please follow these steps to troubleshoot and isolate the issue further. Please try and use a different HDMI cable and see if the issue still occurs. If the TV works with the soundbar after this, the HDMI cable is faulty.
Please power cycle the TV and soundbar.
Unplug the TV and Soundbar power cord and plug it back in
1. Turn off the TV and your Soundbar.
2. Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
3. After one minute, replug the power cable back to the wall outlet.
4. Turn on the TV and Soundbar.
Also, please verify that the audio output setting of your TV is set to audio system, and on the TV, change the audio output destination setting from TV Speakers to Audio System.

4 65" Sony TVs gone within 3 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased New: 10.16.2020 Died (no power no light): 02.2022 This is the 4th Sony 65" TV I've lost in 3 years. 65X80J (Sunroom - Main Residence) 65X800H This TV (Master Bedroom - Main Residence) 65X800H (Family Room - Lake Cabin) 65X950H (Family Room - Lake Cabin) - Yes the replacement died too. All same issue, one day they no longer power on and no amount of time left unplugged, reset procedures, different outlets, etc... will bring life back into them. All rotting at the bottom of a landfill somewhere. Switched to LG and never looking back. Sony your customers expect better from you, be better.

You may try to play high-quality videos and pictures, or even 4K contents from different sources (streaming apps, USB drive, Blu-ray player, etc.).

For the brightest setting, you can change the picture mode to Vivid. But you can also adjust the brightness and contrast levels of standard by following the guide above.

Defective

Originally Best Buy support said it is out of return/exchange period and I have to contact Sony. Had to push a bit to have them agree to replace. They agreed to replace in 3-4 days, hope it goes according to plan. Delivery guys were awesome btw.

Horrible product and service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV last month. When Geek Squad installed it, the guy did a lousy job. He explained to me that, because he was running it through my XBox, the picture would have a lag in it and be blurring when ever there was any action. I told him not to run it through the XBox then and he said it won't make any difference. He installed it and left the house. Football games are literally impossible to watch. You can't even see the ball. The players motion is blurry. Horrible product.

Burn out - Don't Recommend

I always watch on the TV in the morning and at night. I notice a white burn on top and on the side. I was thinking that maybe it was the movie that we were watching. I tried to change the channel, however the burn was still present. It's too late at night to call best bestbuy to return it. I do not know if I am going to get the same model or just get a LG or Samsung TV...
