Set up was easy so far its been great for her. The sales associate tried to convince me to get the sounbar too, but after I set up the tv I saw that that there was no need for a soundbar.

The room is darker now and I like that - there was a significant amount of background light with the X85J

I bought a 50" version earlier, but I liked it so much I had to get a bigger size. The one thing I've had trouble is keeping the audio coming out from the eArc Hdmi with my vizio soundbar

Good tv if you can get it on sale.

Has good internal antenna so can pick up a lot of channels from regular outside antenna, our old TV only picked up 6, this one picks up a LOT more.

My most regretful tech purchase

I am not a "tinfoil hat" conspiracy theorist, so I hope these words carry a lot of weight. There are so many applications on this model that want access to what you watch, and how much you watch, with a lot of it being integral to the TV's operation. On top of it forcing you into the Data Mine, it loses a lot of key features that even cheaper Roku TVs have. Lost Features: -Can't use the screen as a full wireless display. It only lets you stream videos only (which is so it can see what you're streaming for that whole Data Mine operation). -The model number miraculously hides itself, so unless you remember it's an X85J, you will literally never see it again. Instead they replace the model with "Sony Bravia 4k VH2" to obscure the model. -Very small eco-system of downloadable apps, but unlike Roku or Tizen where it's a compatibility issue, Google and Sony are straight evil and lockout even major names like Microsoft. I spent easily 3+ hours trying to set this stupid TV up as a wireless display, and it's literally not possible. The image is beautiful, but the usability, features, and overall amount of non-negotiable Data Harvesting is insane. Even if you don't care if your data gets leaked, the amount of data they actually take is just ridiculous.
