I've owned only Samung TVs for the last 10 years and decided to try this Sony X85J, and couldn't be happier. Customization settings are fantastic, along with the Google TV. Highly recommend for gaming as well. Can't beat the price and quality.

Great image quality and works very well with latest generation gaming consoles. Bought about 2 years ago and I haven’t had any problems at all.

Very happy with this large Sony TV. I have mainly purchased Samsung TVs for value, but had a credit to cover half of this TV. The native 120 refresh rate, sale price and RTINGS reviews sold me. I can easily tell the blacks are better, the motion, clarity and colors/brightness are excellent. Way better picture than base Samsung TVs I have; however, the cost is almost double so that is to be expected. I hesitated because of unfamiliarity with Sony's UI, but all inputs and remotes were recognized immediately. The google operating system is great. No regrets!

I had a Samsung Q70 and this X85J is superior in every way. It must have a VA panel (65 inch) because the contrast is excellent. The color is accurate and natural and so pleasing to watch. The sound is actually good enough to not need an external system. It has 4K 120Hz, Dolby Vision, and all the new features you could need. Even though it is, I believe edge-lit, it looks as good or better than any FALD direct lit I’ve seen, certainly better than the Q70. And I love the fact that it has DC dimming instead of PWM so it’s really easy on the eyes, also unlike the Q70. I am so pleased with every aspect of this TV. Despite common assumptions about edge lit, and lacking FALD… lacking those things can only be viewed as a benefit to me, because the picture really does look that good. Games also look the best I’ve ever seen on a TV, with low input lag and smooth crisp motion. I believe I’ve found the perfect TV for my preferences.

OMG, guys, let me tell you why this TV is like the best thing ever! First of all, the picture quality is out of this world. The graphics are so sharp and detailed, it's like you're actually inside the game. Every little detail, from the textures to the colors, pops right off the screen. It's like stepping into a whole new world!

Fantastic picture quality, but the android operating system can be slightly sluggish at times which can be a bit annoying. Otherwise great tv.

We hve been using TCL Roku TVs for the longest time and decided to upgrade to this TV after lightning fried 3 of our TVs. I couldn't be happier with the TV, love the higher refresh rate and Google interface! The onboard sound is decent but we're using a sound bar so onboard audio is irrelevant anyway. This TV was well worth the extra cost associated with a better product!

Best tv I haved the picture on it it’s perfectly clear I have it in my enclosed patio with window all around and don’t see no glare at all and it has I have no idea how many speakers but it’s loud not just loud it’s loud and clear best tv money can get

Went back to Sony after my Samsung TV's sound went out. I like that the refresh rate is higher than what you can get on a Samsung, and I'm hoping that will improve my viewing experience while watching hockey games. That said, I sure wish they hadn't teamed up with Google. I despise Google and do not use them because they track their users. So, I went ahead and purchased this TV and disabled the "Smart" features. I just use my Fire Stick instead. The picture and sound quality is good. However, after only having this TV for a couple of weeks, I have already encountered an issue. The TV won't allow me to update it, or connect my iPhone in order to use AirPlay, for some reason. When I scanned the QR code to connect them, the TV kept changing the code right after I would enter it into my phone! So then, of course, I would get an error message, saying that I had entered the wrong code. I will have to look further into this when I have time. Fortunately, I don't use AirPlay very often, but if you do, this might be something to consider. One last thing: the legs on the TV do not raise the TV high enough in order to place a sound bar in front of it, so if you want to be able to do this, you will likely need to mount it on the wall.

The picture is amazing. Great black backgrounds and color is near perfect. 4k OTA picture is where it really shows off its quality. Set up was easy. Works with Apple homekit. Sound is what what you'd expect, not bad but not great either. screen reflection is there on bright day but not bad. Wish it came with a rotating base.

The picture quality on Sony TVs cannot be beat. The color accuracy is superior to other brands, especially when at sale price. The picture is crystal clear and the level of detail is amazing (in 1080 or 4K). The higher motion rate is also a nice feature for sports and gaming. This TV is not full array LED like the slightly more expensive X90J (this one is direct lit) however both this TV and the X90J were on display next to each other and there was hardly a difference, I actually preferred that the X85J picture appeared slightly brighter than the X90J. While the picture hardware of the TV is perfect the operating system is ok. I wish you had more control over app layout and system themes. The Roku format is best in that category (which can be purchased separately). However, the system is reliable and the voice control feature is usually accurate, it also integrates well with your google account. Lastly, the sound is ok, but it pairs best with a sound bar or external speakers for a better TV experience.

This Sony TV is actually very good. Sony has a very great reputation and their quality is awesome as well. So far, Sony has a great quality that has shown to last for several years. I would definitely recommend over other name brand TV's.
