The HT-ST5000 eARC 800 Watts, has dropped in price considerably, but at $1500 they where worth every penny, they are very incredible, I read reviews that said the Highs and Low ware good but the mids where not good but I can't tell. I have the Sub on the side of the couch and the base sound like it is coming directly from the sub. I am very impress I believe they are very exceptional, and Highly recommend them. One night I was watching a documentary and heard a fly buzz by my ear I looked and there was no fly in my home it was the sound bar,

The wireless subwoofer doesn't cut out nearly as often as the LG sound bar this replaced. Occasionally doesn't respond to remote after just turning on. I have to force power off, unplug, and plug back in to get it to respond and change inputs when I need to, but this isn't very often... maybe once every month or so. Sound quality and bass is amazing from just a sound bar this size.

      Hi JLHANKE,

We're glad that you like the sound quality of the soundbar. We regret to hear that you're having connectivity issues with the subwoofer. Make sure to install the latest software version of the soundbar to help improve the connectivity of the subwoofer:

I purchased this with my 77OLED as part of the bundle and this replaced my Bose sound bar w sub. I love this thing!!! the sound is great, the vocals are clear ( but the volume seems to be a little low for dialogue) . You can adjust the dialogue for night viewing which does help but you miss some of the low end which I love. So its a catch 22. Our set up is in the basement under the kids bedrooms so this tiny gripe is more of a personal issue than anything. Once you turn this thing on and up to about 14-18 it really comes to life. The high, mid,low frequency with the sub connected is great for movies and sports. Using it as a blue tooth system to stream pandora is easy and is a nice touch. It's simply to do and music sounds great. There is a great feature in the menu that allows you to turn OFF inputs you're not using. Seems simple right.. It makes life so much easier if you have kids who grab remotes. We disabled everything except 1 HDMI input and Bluetooth so when my parents are watching them they have to hit a button 1 time... Or so we can hit it one time and fix it hrs scrolling through all the inputs. Again we love this thing! The one area which is annoying is using HDMI out of the Apple TV , There are setting on Apple TV that are an issue, you have to not select HDR, you have to not Select Dolby Vision you have to keep it on Yc ( whatever the color is ) , not RGB HIGH or Low and then let the TV do its thing ( at lest on the 77 OLED ). If you don't it seems like there is some digital handshake going on and there is a delay and the screen turns black before changing the channel when using Spectrum App or ATT TV through Apple TV. We were supper confused, it was really annoying, it wasn't the Soundbar it was the Apple TV and Soundbar and OLED combo with all the digital handshakes etc... We just put it on the basic settings, the 4k picture is crazy good using pass through this way and the sound is great. Other than the issue with Apple TV this thing is easy to set up. All and all, I would buy this again and would recommend it if you have the patience to deal with all the digital issues. (you could always hook it up with an optical cable from the TV and be done with it) but we wanted Dolby Atmos support.

This sound bar system is pricey but is worth the money. I initially bought a Bose 700 sound bar and subwoofer. I was completely astonished by the lack of sound from this. I returned ot and got the this system. The system is pricey but the sound quality and bass is amazing. The 3D surround is so-so and if you are expecting a true surround from this you will disappointed. However, if you want just a sound bar with rich sound and amazing base. The price tag should be more around 1200 but even that being said it's still an awesome product.

this is the best sounding option for a relatively uncluttered sounder with wireless subwoofer 7.1.2 option out there - trust me we tested 3 different ones before settling on this one! easy controls, lot's of bass and relatively intuitive although sometimes it did not turn off and on along with the TV which meant we had to use its remote - also you can control bass (we kept it at 5 otherwise too much for a condo) overall good build quality even though there are newer Samsung 90 series and Sennheiser Ambeo (which we really wanted)

The Sony # HTST5000 7.1 has fantastic sound and is worth the extra cost. Sony has the others beat by far in quality at this price point. It out performs the more expensive Yamaha soundbar that I have in our den. It was an ease to Install.

I was looking at sound bars to replace and old Bose speaker set i had since 2007! At first we started at the "budget" options. Every sound bar sounded like it had a blanket over it. So we walked into the Magnolia area. Started talking with the Sony rep(i bought my tv thru him. for being a factory rep, very unbaised). He showed us around and for kicks, let us play with the "high end" stuff. Then we landed on this sound bar. For the price i was pretty impressed. and thats my first note. Price: Yes. it is very expensive. Cost more than most Tvs. We may or may not have been tipped off by a passer by that this was going to be 200 bucks off the next day as apart of the memorial day sale. and best buy has a price adjustment policy so we bought it that day and phoned in the adjustment the next day. Connectivity: 3 HDMI, ARC, heaphone, and optical port, bluetooth and has Spotify built in. simple and easy to connect. Sound: I love sound. I knew that nothing was going to replace a dedicated receiver and speakers. BUT i was not willing to spend that much money. So here i am. Comments aside, this thing has power and LOVES to be pushed, I find myself using the clearaudio+ the most. The setting options in the home menu allow you to calibrate listening distance, ceiling height and other parameters. Personally, to get more of the atmos experience, i added 2db to the up firing speakers. The sound bar also has a voice + feature allowing you to push the voice/dialogue up front to make it more audible. It works but it is a EQ curve so it can impact other scenes. Overall impression: This is not cheap. But is it worth it? Yes. this is the last step before you go to a custom set up. My only gripe is no individual EQ but i can live with the presets. Only thing i would add is to wait for it to be on sale. 1500 is steep. and while 1200 is no joke, its a easier pill to swallow.

We replaced a Klipsch soundbar that had finally quit. We bought this as a result of reading a lot of soundbar reviews from a lot of websites and then after listening to this at Best Buy. My thing was... I didn't want it to sound good, only if it was cranked up. I wanted it to sound good at low level TV watching as well as big, loud movies. This one fit that bill, hands down over some other pretty good names. Bose and Samsung. That, as well as hookups and general ease of use sold us. No regrets.

I originally bought an LG atmos soundbar, but shortly after returned it for this unit. This unit gave a much more full and robust sound. Definitely worth the extra money. It did not, however, impress me too much with the surround sound and "atmos" feature. Don't get me wrong, you can hear it above you and around you, but not as much as a budget atmos setup would for around the same price. It is however perfect for those not willing to get a full blown set up, or those whose space can not accomodate one. It is a good compromise between quality of sound and convenience of set up.

It's a nice system but the chirping and crackle that comes from the sub woofer is a problem especially since the sub has never been damaged. After doing some research I found out that I wasn't the only person experiencing this issue w/ the sub. It seems to be a manufacturer problem that I hope gets figured out & corrected. Aside from this I can say it does it's job, it's over priced though, for $1400 I could have put a quality sound system together w/ Dolby Atmos and lots more sound decoders that this Sony system offers. All in all do your homework first and lots of comparison shopping before purchasing.

I bought this soundbar to go with my Sony Bravia XBR55A8H. Install and set up went fairly easy. One hiccup to watch out for when connecting to the higher in Bravia OLED TVs: it took talking to two different Sony techs to find out I had to change the external source settings on the bravia TV in order to get the 5.1 dolby surround to come through to the soundbar from apps like prime TV and Netflix.

Pleased with my purchase. The sound is precise and the system looks great. The cheaper Sony bars and other brands didn’t cut it, and are packed with features I didn’t want/need. Simulated surround sound is nothing like my 7.1 system in the basement with separate speakers and a receiver, but I knew that going into it, and didn’t want speaker and wire clutter in my living room. I’ve seen other reviews saying this system isn’t “loud” but is more than fine for most uses, and movies sound awesome. If you’re expecting a movie theater experience, perhaps consider a bigger more complex system, but this is quality stuff for its purpose and very easy to use. My 5 year old has no problem watching Netflix without help turning things on. Features are cool and intuitive. Pairs well with my 65” Sony Bravia. If you too own a Sony, I’d look no further and get this. Helps finding a sale on it to save some bucks cause it is a bit pricey.
