Sound is awesome for an apartment setting where space is a premium. Subwoofer will definitely shake your room. Obviously, it's better if you have satellite speakers in the recommended spots for a true Dolby Atmos sound. One wish I have is that Sony comes out with a firmware upgrade to include separate rear speakers.

Absolutely Fantastic sound! I highly recommend it for someone who wants a "HiFi" sound, but without the need for 9+ individual cabinet speakers. The sub definitely goes above and beyond in performance, seriously... it surprised me on how good it was. The sound modes seriously do a great job catering to the content you're wanting to listen to. It worked well for me both in a bedroom (12'x14') as well as a medium-sized living room (20'x30'). If you can pick this up on sale or as an open-box for $1,200 (or less) I would definitely jump on it. $1,500 is a little on the high-side for an asking price. This sounds so good compared to the z9f which I had previously. I dont miss having the rear speakers and the Atmos effects are amazing. There is real weight to the sub woofer that rocks every movie we've watched or game I've played. I do have to say that I use this in a smaller space with walls and ceiling in relatively close proximity....10feet or under...ceiling 6ft....so the bouncing sound is very apparent even at lower volumes. That's one reason we went to a single soundbar.....wall mounting the rear speakers just didn't work out well. The effects from the soundbar may not be as pronounced in a large room or a room with alot of other things that could absorb the sound. For us this has worked out amazing and the wife and kids all said it sounds so good. For a single soundbar I can't recommend this enough.

WOW. What a sound this system produces. My friends and neighbors are just amazed with how this produces sound for Movies and Music. The setup was done by Geek Squad and they did a great job! Highly recommended to purchase if you are a big movie watcher.

I have owned plenty of Sony sound bars.This sound bar brings my living room to life when playing 4K DVD’s, Atmos is present,but not overwhelming. Playing music sounds great for a sound bar,plenty of bass, mid and treble is good also. I’m happy with my purchase .I bought another for my basement.

The sound is crisp and the sub has some punch to it. Really like this set up.

I had Martian Logan speakers with a def tech subwoofer attached to an Elac amp and this sound bar blew it away. I really never knew what was meant by balance, but now I do. This Sony sound bar and subwoofer brings movies to life, especially ones with Atmos.

Getting surround sound from a soundbar. So obviously Sony is practicing witchcraft. Great sound...unreal surround sound and deep bass with a massive subwoofer. The price is why it gets 4 stars.

A little pricey but worth it to have great sound. fills up my entire room with 12 foot ceilings and an open concept. Sometimes it even sounds like surround even though there are no rear speakers. Bass hits hard.

I haven't had a chance to use this a ton yet but from what I have it sounds really great for a soundbar/sub set. I have it installed in a room with hardwood floors and the sound carries very well over the room. You have to know what you are getting, if you want a true Dolby Atmos experience to the max of it's ability this is not the route for you, however if you want a good sound mixture between lows and highs with a slight feel of Atmos then this is a good buy. So far I don't regret the choice I made between this model and the high end Samsung model. Hope this helps.

This is a beast of a soundbar. Sound is rich and can crank up the room. Bass is deep as well. Just remember it's still a sounder and won't replicate a true home theatre setup with amps, tower speakers, surround sound speakers, etc.

I love this sound bar! Amazing sound and does a great job at simulated surround sound/atmos. Only issue, it has issues communicating with my Sony OLED sometimes.

I bought this expecting a high quality product with great sound and that is exactly what I got! Love it.

We wanted a soundbar with a lot of base and this one did not disappoint. It’s cool how you can adjust the space between the sofa and TV to better project sound. It also has a feature which allows you to change the volume of voices only, which I personally really like (makes it easier to hear voices clearer, especially during scenes with loud background noise), but my partner doesn’t like to use it. The disappointing part is that you currently can’t purchase additional speakers to create a more surround sound feel. The single bar does a good job as advertised, but it still would’ve been nice to have that option in the future.

I like the wireless connection and how easy it was to set up. Great sound for a finish basement room.

Amazing soundbar. The ST-5000 has great audio quality and was a perfect pairing with my LG OLED.

I am replacing a 10 year old 5.1 receiver and speakers with this system. I must say the sound quality and bass are great. Much better than my previous system. The Dolby Atmos technology is implemented very good in this soundbar. I think if this soundbar ever gets a firmware update to support wireless rear speakers I would give it 5 stars. That being said the overhead and rear sound is very good. The rear sound isn't quite as good as having dedicated rear speakers. But it does fill the room with sound.

This sound bar has great sound and is a good value. integrates well with other Sony product.
