Good reciever but beware

It was so difficult to set up the old receiver but this one is so easy to setup!! All setup can be done on TV screen and auto calibration is very accurate. The sound quality is also great with movies with 7.1 sound from both my PC and blu-ray player. It's good that it supports HDCP 2.2 for future 4k contents.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We had to buy a new receiver after our Onkyo gave up the ghost. Went into a Best Buy store blind and compared the Onkyo, Sony and Pioneer receivers. After talking to the salesperson and figuring out what we needed for all of the gadgets we had, we settled on the Sony. Got it out last night to hook up and it took over an hour to figure out just how to get video out. The instructions in the box are of no help at all and all of the different options on TV make trial and error a never ending process. So we finally got picture and sound last night and started on AirPlay. We finally gave up and decided to research online and give it a try later. Too many inputs and outputs for a small instruction guide. For the price, more customer support should be available. But I will have to say the sound from the receiver is awesome. We got it hooked up to our surround sound and watched a baseball game and it felt like we were right on the field. My kids are ready to get the Wii hooked back up and for movie night. Hopefully we'll get the DVD player and Wii figured out before the weekend. All in all it was a great purchase and such a difference compared to our older model. Pleased...once we get everything set up.
