Awesome! Wish I had purchased this the first time instead of the other brand.

Was a great unit to setup my bedroom system. covered all my speaker needs.

I cannot say anything because I do not understand well these machines...

I did not want to buy this receiver because I was originally going to buy a Marantz slim line NR1605 or a Denon AVR-X1100W. I love Sony TVs, I own a sonyx850b, but I dislike their audio equipment for various reasons. In the end I opted for this begrudgingly because the other two companies for some odd reason decided to not adapt the new HDMI HDCP 2.2 technology for future 4k content (which in my opinion is absolutely stupid). However, after looking at the specs of this receiver it was equivalent to the Denon and the Marantz. The distortion was @ 100W RMS .09% (Sony) verses the other two at .07% @ 50W RMS(Marantz) or .08% @ 95W RMS (Denon). Along with this the Sony over all had much more to offer when it came to extra content. BT, syncing, multiple outputs, wifi, ect. I have only thus far been using it for a 7.1 system and music via Bluetooth and it has performed way better than expected. After everything is said and done I do recommend and enjoy this receiver. The on screen menu is worth its weight in gold and has made this receiver extremely easy to work with. I do agree with the other reviewers though the manual that is comes with is useless. I found a comprehensive manual online after searching and they should at a bare minimum put a obvious link to it in the paperwork it comes with. 4.5/5 stars, -.5 for a horrible manual This Receiver is a monster though it is Rocking my RTIA7s and I am glad I have the upgradability to 4k content and streaming access.

The receiver works great with the Sony TV, for a good price.

My Onkyo broke unexpectedly ! since I own a Sony 4K tv I purchased the unit 1060, unfortunately it did not work for me. I had to return it because the video was always blurry; the microphone did not recognize my speakers and of course no Atmos. I traded it for Denon 920. everything works perfect! Sorry Sony! I am a fan of Sony but not for the receivers.

I brought this receiver to upgrade from my old Sony reciver,and it's amazing you can Bluetooth to iPhone or iPad. I love this receiver,it also make pictures on my tv true 1080p. I am a big fan of Sony, because every Sony electronic that I have owned has last me 10 years or more.

its a great receiver with tons of features and ports, it seems like some features are missing out of box. Spotify connect doesn't work. receiver doesn't show up for spotify. also a setting for default input or default volume setting when turning on the receiver would be nice. it sucks when you turn on the receiver and its at half volume and your not expecting it. otherwise the quality is amazing and the sound it produces is better than my old denon 7.2

Upgraded from my Denon 5.1 receiver to this Sony 7.1 and the difference is unreal! Already had a 4k Ultra HD Samsung TV and I'm finally seeing the picture quality my TV is supposed to offer, not to mention the incredible sound quality created by a 7.1 setup. I'm utilizing the main front L/R and high front L/R offered by this receiver and it's incredible! A bit tricky to figure out how to program this in the receiver setup (no real help from the manual), but the wiring is simple due to labeling on the back of the receiver. Buy this receiver, you will not be disappointed.

This is a Excellent receiver. It has all the Quality that Sony is known for. It is easy to setup and use. I have it connected to Martin Logan speakers. I went with the Sony because I am planning to get a Sony 65" tv and thought that they would all integrate good together. I have owned Sony products before and have always been happy with their performance & quality. Best Buy also had very knowledgeable employees that did a Great job helping me in the store.

I upgraded from last years' 840 model to this one. Hookup was simple, setup was easy, and the sound into K28 Klipsch floor speakers is well worth the upgrade.

I waited until this AV receiver to come out to match with my new Sony 4K TV, researched a number of receivers. Lot of cool extras in this unit but still trying to figure out why sometimes the audio sounds a bit extra bright in the high frequencies, still experimenting with settings. This is why on only gave it four stars.

Been a Sony surround guy for years. Before buying this receiver I bought the latest Onkyo at the next price point up. While it had similar features and more (Atmos) it couldn't hold a candle to the Sony. Ease of set up, quality of sound, loads of features, and incredible volume range made it very easy for me to box the Onkyo back up.

I upgraded from an STR-DN1000 due to lack of ARC function and 3D pass through. I got a great buy on this product and it was well worth the purchase.

If you only want something to pump out sound it's great. But if you want features, (like Pandora), function (like 2 zones with independently operated volume, and intuitive set-up with easy to navigate option, stay away. The manual is junk. The remote is almost useless. the menus are harder to navigate than the Mojave at night. I'm returning this thing first thing tomorrow.

If you buy one of these, be prepared to figure it out using a one-sheet startup guide. It connects to the Internet, supposedly. How does that work? It doesn't say!!
