    Constant software Issues with Sonys

    I am not sure whats going on with the Sony brand. I made the switch from Samsung and I think I will be going back. My Samsung lasted 10+ years and is still working. Meanwhile My Sony stopped working and was flashing a red light after about 3-4 years. I then went and purchased another Sony and it is now turning off and on by itself. I have had it about 1 month. I am not sure what to do since I don't have the box anymore. I have unplugged it multiple times, reset it to factory settings, updated the software. Everything I can think of. Sony has some major software issues and I don't think I will be buying a Sony anymore unless they fix this current situation. Great picture, but terrible software.

To make sure your TV runs as smooth as possible, we highly recommend downloading and installing the latest software for the TV.

      If your TV turns on or off at regular intervals, such as 30 minutes to an hour, it's likely caused by power saving functions such as Idle TV Standby, On Timer, and Sleep Timer. if you haven't yet, follow the steps from this link to disable Sleep timer, Idle TV standby, and Auto shut-off settings that may cause the TV to turn off automatically.

      The quality of the source is a big factor in getting an excellent picture quality. Having said that, picture mode settings provide preset adjustments for the type of picture you are viewing. Picture settings also allow a wide array of changes to color, contrast, clarity, and brightness that can improve the viewed content on your Google TV. The picture quality may improve if you change it in [Picture] under [Settings].

    New Bravia 7 with dead pixel

    Love the 75” Bravia TV, only a dead pixel nearly dead center of the screen is very distracting when a bright bckground during a movie or when gaming. Called Sony customer support, and since it appears to only be 1 pixel it is considered ok and normal since there are millions of pixels. Was in formed yo take a picture and if more pixels go out to call back. If this is the change is Sony customer support, this will potentially be the last Sony I ever buy. They have really reduced their customer service over the years.

    This tv is by far the worst overall price/quality tv i have ever purchased. Does not allow you much room to adjust picture settings. Backlighting/ deeper blacks is horrible. Lots of gray and shutters to clear up. Looks like a gray cloud in a time lapse video. Sound quaility is very bad, sounds like you are in a tube and muffled. Overall a total waste of money. I have seen lots of good reviews and was really looking forward to this tv. I am not sure about all of the positive reviews. The best i can tell, is that they left reviews for the wrong tv!!

    Sony 75" Bravia 7 Mini LED

    The TV is very nice but have issues with the picture going black and back on. Called Sony several times and they say the Cable box isn't putting out a 1080P signal and that is the issue. I have another Sony OLED 4k tv and it doesn't do this. If the TV didn't go to a blank screen and back to the same signal, I would have given the TV a 5 star review but can't recomment if this is what I have to accept from a new TV at this price point.

Many issues can be fixed without a repair. If you haven't yet, we do have troubleshooting steps that may help resolve some issues, especially if your TV has no picture, no power, or the LED light blinks or flashes red.       Make sure your TV has the most recent system software installed. If there is no picture with an HDMI connection between your device and the TV, please follow the steps below to help resolve the issue.

      - Restart the TV.
      This issue can be fixed by simply restarting the TV. To do that, simply press and hold the POWER button of the remote control for about 5 seconds, or until a message Power off appears.
      - Make sure that the input setting on the TV corresponds to the video output source.
      - If you have an external device connected on the TV, turn the connected device on. Check the cable connection between the device and TV. To avoid any issues, please make sure that the HDMI cables you are using are rated for "premium high speed" and are at least 18 Gbps (or better).
      - Disconnect and reconnect the cable. A bad connection may occur temporarily and cause this issue. Also, cables can get damaged internally (e.g. when bending in sharp angles). You could test this with different cable.

    Sony open box disaster!!!

    Drove 150 miles each way to get and open box Sony. On the phone I was told it was in a box and was Geek Squad certified excellent. It had no box no remote one foot on and the other missing. The bubble wrap was poorly on. Never buy open box online the call center tells you what you want to hear. You cant talk to the store. They did not even say sorry for your inconvenience.

    Very unhappy with this tv. In my opinion, picture quality was worse than the 13 yr old Sharp we were replacing. Sound was awful. Had our old tv for 13 years (a 70” Sharp) without any issues. Still worked but it wasn’t a smart tv. Had the Sony 1 day and it stopped working after an update. Nothing would get it to turn on, just kept ‘clicking’. Returned it.

    Sony and google big brother

    So excited with my new sony, brought it home, spent hours installing it and when I turn on I HAVE to accept google to be able to use the tv. Absurd! Nothing in the store said I had to accept google to use this tv. What is this, big brother? Going back tomorrow. Sony never again!
