Great Picture when working. It froze up a lot.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Sony Bravia 7 75 inch TV because I love watching sports on my TV abd my 65 inch Samsung was 10 years old. I thought the OLED’s might be too dark to fully get the greatest image and in the store the Sony Bravia seven mini LEDs looked super bright and good enough for what I needed it for and the OLED’S were also just more expensive and tinted darker When I got the Sony Bravia home, I had problems with it almost immediately First of all, I had trouble keeping the TV connected to the Internet . So I updated all the software and then my screen started freezing while I was watching a TV show.. The screen would freeze, but I could still change the channel and the sound in the background. But the screen was frozen. When the screen was frozen, I couldn’t even use the remote to turn the TV off or change a channel.. I was forced to unplugged the entire TV just to get the screen unfrozen and to work again. I was then told by the people at Best Buy to reboot my TV so I rebooted the TV, but the TV continued to freeze up. It also continued to disconnect from the Internet on its own, and I couldn’t get any signal on my TV for my streaming even though the TVs in my other rooms and Computers were all working perfectly and not disconnecting from the WIFI. For the money I paid for this TV, It shouldn’t be constantly freezing up, and it shouldn’t be disconnecting from the Internet and giving me so many problems so I decided to return it. When I returned the television, the salesman at Best Buy said oh yeah the Sony has a problem with freezing up sometimes, and they’ve had problems freezing up when you attach a sound bar. I told him that I hadn’t put a sound bar on the television and they said oh well they just freeze up a lot. It’s an issue I will say that when the TV was playing properly, the picture was absolutely beautiful and I loved it. It was very bright & exactly what I wanted, and it was crystal clear and if I didn’t have any of the issues with it, freezing up or connecting with the Internet, I would’ve been very happy with the quality of the picture and the sound. But in the end, I felt like I might’ve gotten a lemon because all of the other reviews were so good, and a few of the very few bad Reviews had some of the same exact problems that I had. So maybe I was just unlucky I decided to return the TV and instead I bought the LG C3 OLED that was on sale and I’m hoping that the picture won’t be too dark for the way that I like TV, but I’m gonna give that one to try. I gave the TV two stars strictly because of the great Picture Quality.

Troubles with Sony TV purchase
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately we found out after the tv was mounted that it did not support Spectrum app! We called Sony corporate help and they confirmed that this BRAND NEW SONY BRAVIA did it have a Spectrum app . This for a brand new “smart” TV. We bought this tv based on our good experience with Sony. The Best Buy sales person Never mentioned anything about this! Very irresponsible or poorly trained. We had to hire someone to take the tv down and prepare it to ship back to Best Buy. We purchased a Samsung tv (recommended by SONY). We now have to again hire someone to install this tv (we are 84 years old and it is much too heavy for us to lift). Best Buy tried diligently to charge us for return of the Sony and for shipping the Samsung.? After much effort, some supervisor agreed to forego the charges. Although we decided to make the second tv purchase from Best Buy, we were very reluctant and are still disappointed in Best Buy’s effort to try to charge us for the exchange. Still don’t have the Samsung up because we haven’t found an installer. Best Buy should have stepped up and had the Geek Squad do it for us. There you have I!

Constant software Issues with Sonys
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not sure whats going on with the Sony brand. I made the switch from Samsung and I think I will be going back. My Samsung lasted 10+ years and is still working. Meanwhile My Sony stopped working and was flashing a red light after about 3-4 years. I then went and purchased another Sony and it is now turning off and on by itself. I have had it about 1 month. I am not sure what to do since I don't have the box anymore. I have unplugged it multiple times, reset it to factory settings, updated the software. Everything I can think of. Sony has some major software issues and I don't think I will be buying a Sony anymore unless they fix this current situation. Great picture, but terrible software.

If your TV turns on or off at regular intervals, such as 30 minutes to an hour, it's likely caused by power saving functions such as Idle TV Standby, On Timer, and Sleep Timer. if you haven't yet, follow the steps from this link to disable Sleep timer, Idle TV standby, and Auto shut-off settings that may cause the TV to turn off automatically.

Worst tv ever
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv is by far the worst overall price/quality tv i have ever purchased. Does not allow you much room to adjust picture settings. Backlighting/ deeper blacks is horrible. Lots of gray and shutters to clear up. Looks like a gray cloud in a time lapse video. Sound quaility is very bad, sounds like you are in a tube and muffled. Overall a total waste of money. I have seen lots of good reviews and was really looking forward to this tv. I am not sure about all of the positive reviews. The best i can tell, is that they left reviews for the wrong tv!!

We understand your concerns regarding the picture settings, backlighting, and sound quality. Our goal is to provide the best possible experience with our products, and we regret that this was not the case for you.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Drove 150 miles each way to get and open box Sony. On the phone I was told it was in a box and was Geek Squad certified excellent. It had no box no remote one foot on and the other missing. The bubble wrap was poorly on. Never buy open box online the call center tells you what you want to hear. You cant talk to the store. They did not even say sorry for your inconvenience.

Not what I expected
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very unhappy with this tv. In my opinion, picture quality was worse than the 13 yr old Sharp we were replacing. Sound was awful. Had our old tv for 13 years (a 70” Sharp) without any issues. Still worked but it wasn’t a smart tv. Had the Sony 1 day and it stopped working after an update. Nothing would get it to turn on, just kept ‘clicking’. Returned it.
