Awesome Combination of Sony Quality and Google TV

The other issue was that I wanted a Google TV based TV, since I have been using a Google TV Chromecast on my other TVs and love it. The TCL R646 was riddled with software issues, but this Sony X90J is rock solid and the picture has been awesome. I like the overall integration of the TV settings and Google TV. I do wish that I could change one of the dedicated buttons on the remote to go directly to YouTube TV, but that does not seem to be possible at this point. The only real negative was the sound from the TV speakers, but I don't really expect that to be very good for most TVs and I have a great sound bar that I planned to use.

Amazing TV!

The picture quality looks amazing. I have been playing PS5 games on HDMI 2.1 and it runs so smooth! The tv is really easy to use and we bought it on sale so we can not complain.

Annoying features

It will probably be my last. The picture is decent, but still seems inferior to samsung. My biggest problem is annoying "feature" where the tv turns off after 10 minutes of being idol. There is a setting to turn this off, but it doesn't work. While normally this would lnt be a big deal (just turn the tv back on), I have to have a soundbar hooked up because the tv sound is awful. Every time this thing turns off, my bose soundbar gets unsynched. While i don't know if the synching is an issue with the soundbar or tv, i know the tv at least starts thr issue by turning off. I then have to fumble around and try to find the small bose remote, and shuffle through different settings to get it to synch again. This may not be a big deal for some, but im constantly being interrupted by children and pausing shows, quite often for 10 minutes or more, so have to repeat the synching process frequently.

The picture and sound are amazing right out of the box without any calibrations. The remote is very useful, comfortable in its size and texture, and intuitive. Skin tones and colors are so life like (due to the new Sony Cognitive Processor) and actually do look the way my eyes see! All of its other capabilities (Google etc.) are just icing on the cake and what a fine cake it is. I have it mounted on the wall just as a fine work of art should be. If you get it on sale you will not be disappointed. it's worth the money.

I originally went to buy the X85J. I’m SO GLAD I chose to spend the extra money for the X90J. The picture quality is ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! One very important note, if you are looking to take advantage of viewing in Dolby Vision, you will need to use a Dolby Vision supported streaming device, plug it into either HDMI 3 or 4 and go into the tv settings, Channels & Inputs, External inputs, HDMI signal format and enable HDMI 3 and or 4 for Enhanced format (Dolby Vision). The built-in Google TV does NOT support Dolby Vision. The speakers are ok, but what tv has great speakers? We buy it for the picture quality. I highly recommend the X90J.

Having experienced Android TV on a 3 yr old 50" Sony Bravia, I was not a fan of the UI, not that is complicated, but after experiencing with a Samsung TV and their TIZEN OS, I liked Samsung better. I think this time around with the new update, Sony and Google TV got better, the remote it's also better, even though it feels cheap, compare to the TV. The picture quality is outstanding, even on a well lit room. As far as the frame, there is nothing much to say, as it's almost unnoticeable. The star of the show is really how great the display is, follow by how much better the UI/controls are. Highly recommended!

Got on sale for $1,600.00 so we’ll worth the $400 discount. Initially was annoyed by disconnection of Wi-Fi and hard wire internet connection but elicited issue by tweaking a power setting on the tv. Lastly APPLE TV connection was a chore but upon research it was determined that you have to agree to all of the Sony privacy Policies in order to make it work. The biggest reason I bought this TV was for true color and the contrast. It does not disappoint. Lastly. TV is only as good as it’s source. Disney+, HBO Max, Vudu, Netflix, Hulu all look amazing. Local channels not great, but not terrible either.

We replaced a lesser brand TV in our home theater and this thing is king! The only issue I have with it is that it doesn't play nice with an Apple TV 4K, but I am quite sure that is an Apple issue and not Sony. I'm playing in settings to resolve that. You can't really use CEC with the Apple TV and this TV without issues. All in all, great picture quality, Dolby Vision, Active Array, all of the features I wanted for a reasonable price. You can't go wrong with Sony....Sony no boloney!

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful TV, picture and sound are excellent but I'm getting a sound bar to have a better audio experience for audio music purposes. if i had any complaint, it would be the HDMI connecters should be on the right side thats my preference but you can't have everything. The manual is pretty simplistic and doesn't explain much but I went on Sony's website and they have a video that helps. Really enjoy the fact I can put my video's on my Apple devices onto the TV using bluetooth. Haven't checked my Beat headphones yet on it. Always liked the Sony's. To me for the money they are worth every penny.

A lot of new technology is included in this product that enhances picture quality and provides great colors. 4K DVD and 4K streaming is awesome and the sound over my audio system is enhanced with the latest 4K process. Friends of mine owning competitor products are totally impressed by the performance and display of this TV. I've always said that when it comes to TV viewing, the larger, the better, providing a little more of a movie theater viewing experience. If you're not into spending big money, I highly recommend this Sony Bravia, XR75X90J model.
