    I've had two 75" X96J's and both were duds. The first one had a terrible 'dirty screen effect' grid pattern on the panel that was very noticeable while gaming or watching sports like football and hockey, and it would restart on its own periodically. I exchanged it for another one and somehow the DSE grid is way worse, it is extremely distracting during TV shows as well. On top of that the it has a broken HDMI port 4, so every time I try to stream 4k video all I see is a giant purple screen. I tried doing a factory reset and testing the Xbox and HDMI cable on a different TV and nothing. Buy at your own risk.

    Very dissatisfied with Son 75” 4K TV picture. Was told by installer to upgrade to Xfinity 4K cable box. Did so, still crappy picture, not as sharp as I thought a $2500 TV should be. Mislead by “vivid” setting during store viewing. I was willing to spend more but got “sold” on this crappy Sony which I’m apparently now stuck with. Bought TotalTech, would like free techie visit to make better picture.

      When a video in SD quality is being scaled up and played back, the quality will look poor, even on an HDTV. A video must have HD quality to be played back at high quality on an HDTV. A video with SD quality cannot be converted to HD quality or displayed in SD resolution without stretching. However, by adjusting the Sharpness and Picture Mode of the TV,

    What a waste.

    Lost power after less than 16 hours viewing - would not turn back on. What a waste. Only luck was having the Geek Squad protection and replaced with a a better model.

    Horrible TV. Does not recognize the PS5 or Sony sound bar, 80% of the time and I need to keep cycling the tv on/off. The TV is horrible in a bright room with rainbow effect covering the entire screen. I am now stuck with this piece of garbage!

    Should have returned this tv the first time I had a issue. It turns off after it’s been on for several hours then won’t come back on! Something is got to be physically wrong with it.

    don’t get the 75inch model LOLOL literally has a grid band pattern across entire screen sony didn’t even try with the larger sizes, 65inch has some DSE but you can get a panel that’s mostly clean

    Great LED TV

    So, it's not OLED, and as such, you won't get the blackest blacks, or even full color gamut. However, keeping that in mind, and knowing that going in, with the current sale prices, this an amazing TV! Image is WAY better then the old 2010 model LG LED TV it just replaced. Colors are still vibrant, details are crisp, clarity is phenomenal, individual hairs and wrinkles on faces, who knew? The only drawback so far is the full black isnt quite pitch black, but in practical usage it is hardly noticeable at all, unless you really are a true videophile looking for pure picture perfection. I just finished the newest episide of Book of Boba, and the soace scenes, were still black as space. It wasn't noticeable to any degree that ruined the scenes... Before that watched The Good Dinosaur, a little Pixar Throwback, and it was like watching it again fir the first time the amount of detail in the trees, the water, the landscapes... I have not used the GoogleTV interface yet, as it seamlessly linked to my Roku where I already have all of my apps logged in. If someone likes the GoogleTV interface, it is there, if you already have another media device, like I did, it should have no issue. I also have not used the TV sound yet, as it seamlessly linked to my Sony 4k A/V reciever with a full 5.1.2 surround system made up of 2 Sony towers topped with Sony Atmos speakers, a Polk center speaker, and two 6.5 inch Sonos Magnolia in cieling rear speakers... No desire or need for me to use the built in TV speaker. If you're looking for Bravia picture quality on a budget though, with absolute peace of mind of zero burned in picture risk, (that was my reasonings for the x95j over an oled model), this is it, no question... 75" 4k picture of this quality at $2k, sports, movies, TV shows, all looking amazing, and even the noticeble improvement of picture quality from upscaling of non-4k media, I have zero regrets!

    Great quality, SONY makes the best's TV'S. THE PICTURE QUALITY IS INTENSE AND GREAT. Although I had some compatibility issues with my Bose system I eventually figured it out and it worked fine. TV is a great value for the money.

    Terrible grid pattern when screen pans

    TV display looks fine when watching movies/tv shows or any content that does not have camera panning. However, once the camera pans (console gaming, sports-broadcast, etc.) left/right or up/down you can see terrible grid line patterns running across the screen. It completely ruins the image. This seems to be a common "defect" on this t.v. as many other X95J owners have complained of the same issue. This makes for an absolute terrible gaming or sports watching experience.

    We bought this TV in November 2021. Since we turned it on out of the box, I haven't seen any better picture than our old Sharp TV. I was in BJ's last night and saw an $1100 TV (4K by LG) and the picture was better. I realize they have it on a display to bring out the best picture in the store which you won't get at home but I jsut don't understand all the good reviews. I'm thinking of returning it. Maybe I'm missing a cable or something to bring in a better signal?? but the picture is just not sharp and crisp for $2999...

      Picture quality will depend on the source that you're playing. So for example, when a video in standard quality is being scaled up and played back, the quality will look poor, even on an HDTV. A video must have high definition quality to be played back at high quality on an HDTV. A video with SD quality cannot be converted to high definition quality or displayed in standard resolution without stretching. However, by adjusting the Sharpness and Picture Mode of the TV, the quality can be improved. If you want better picture quality, we recommend playing high quality sources like 4K movies or using a Blu-ray player.
