There's somekind of software issue, sometimes the tv will freeze and not respond for several seconds, Once it took over 30 seconds to respond to the remote command. On a few occasions it goes to the home screen while watching tv. very laggy response to commands for a top tier tv. now i'm noticing a checkered board pattern in the screen that's only noticable on dimmer bland scenes, but very ugly when visable. I wish i could return this tv now. I've only had it less than 2 months.

To isolate and hopefully resolve this issue, please make sure your TV has the latest firmware by performing a software update: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00119543. The updates improve the general performance of the unit and resolve any possible software-related issues. If the issue still persist, try to perform a power reset. Unplug the TV power cord from the wall outlet, wait two minutes, then plug the power cord back in.

I had the X90J however there was to much glare in our great room that it couldn't overcome. So I had it replace with the X95j which was worth the extra money.
