Customers are saying
Customers are impressed with the picture quality, calling it amazing. They also appreciate the large screen size, easy setup, and affordable price. While most customers are pleased with their purchase, a few have concerns about the remote control being difficult to use, the lack of warranty for pixel issues, the TV's weight, and the flimsy stand.

Feel taken advantage of
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will start this by noting I have been a long time customer and advocate of all Sony products, but after my experience with this T.V. I will probably stop touting my love for this company and look into other brands for all my electronics. I purchased a 55" television which had no issues and three separate Play station 4 systems for my entire family. 4K had really taken off and I started dreaming of a larger High definition model for my new home. I discovered this 75" 4K and even though I didn't really have the money to buy it at the time, I still purchased it. Not only did I buy this 75" T.V. but I also bought yet another Play station Pro for 4K gaming, and a Sony 4K blur ray player! I really went all in with Sony products. Fast forward a couple months, Me and my family are watching a movie on a Friday night when a couple lines flickered through the screen. It almost looked like some sort of interference so I checked my cables and everything looked good. That Saturday I am playing a game and the screen freezes but I still have audio and it slowly gets back to the picture several times. I go buy a new high end HDMI cord and it still keeps happening, so I decide to call Sony the next day. I wake up Sunday to turn on the T.V. only to find a static line on a black screen. I go immediately on Sony's tech support website and do live chat to troubleshoot. None of it works and he tells me I may need to exchange the television for a new one. I was very happy how easy it was and had no complaint. He puts me on hold and tells me "Oh it looks like you are outside of your 90 warranty so a new exchange might not be possible." I said "What do you mean I bought it at the end of July, it's the end of October!" He goes "Yeah but you're just outside that 90 day window." I'm like you've got to be kidding me....now what?! He goes "Hold on, let me talk to someone and see if there's something I can do." I sit on hold for awhile and he comes back on and tells me, "Yeah I'm sorry I can offer you a refurbished television and that's all." Now I'm starting to get mad. I'm like "I spent $3000 on this T.V. and it's barely past 90 days and now it's a paper weight and all you can do is a used refurbished T.V. that broke on someone else?!" He says, "Well it might not be used, it may have been damaged during transport or broke at the factory, but it passes as good because they're inspected." I am like that doesn't sound right I would like a new television...to replace my new television! He says "Well I can escalate your case to a higher department and they might be able to help you with that." I didn't receive my call the next day so I called them instead. The guy on the phone says, "I understand your frustration, but it has been over 90 days." I am like, I have just invested $6,000 + in your companies products and this is how I get treated!?!" He says, "I understand it's upsetting and I am sorry but a refurbished television is all I can do for you." I am like, "Take it or leave it? I suppose I have to take it if I have no option but this isn't right!" He says, "we will have a team bring you your refurbished unit and return your broken television....no charge." I'm like gee thanks for no charge on swapping this piece of junk...He then immediately asks for a credit card number for just in case I don't return my television to Sony I will be billed. I said "Wait, what? They are coming and taking it away and leaving me a refurbished unit, I am not mailing this huge thing. It is being taken by your company! He says " Yes but if you tried to with hold the television you can be billed." I am like "Why the would I tell them I want this broken television which takes up all this room, and don't give me the replacement?" He says I understand...but we can't trust that you won't deny the delivery team!" I need a credit card number sir. I said, "You know what...no offense but no...I am not not giving some random person on the phone my credit information for an exchange that is a trade off ( Which I shouldn't even have to be dealing with right now) He says " O.K. sir I will waive the credit information because this is a swap situation." I had to take pictures and send them to Sony for proof and approval (Because I guess they think people lie and say their new expensive T.V. is broke and they want a used one to replace it) I've just received that confirmation but it's going to be another week before I even get a date that a team can come recover this thing and trade me my refurbished replacement...Wow ! I've seen Sony reply to reviews of their products on here including this model. I will tell you right now whomever is reading this that replies to these things....You really betrayed my trust in your company, especially considering how many of your products I've purchased and dumped $6,000+ into these last couple months. Whoever took my escalation case should have been like, You know what...this guy was just barely out of 90 days and he is a long time standing customer...replace it with a new unit and we can refurbish his T.V. for those people who are closer to a year on their warranty. I will invest in Samsung next time, I also see the price dropped on this T.V. now, so more people will be considering it....I say DON'T! and thanks for nothing Sony.

Great TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace my 65" Samsung 3D Curved To due to a lightning strike and I'm kinda glad I had to. This Sony is great, awesome picture, easy to navigate and the built in apps are nice. Definitely have to adjust settings out of the box but there's plenty of info in the internet about how. Almost too easy to mount and the picture is nice even in a relatively bright living room

Good while it works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony products are good while they work. This TV worked perfect for 3 years and then died. No power, no nothing. The repair was going to be as much as a new TV. We did Love the picture while it was working but will not by So y again because of the short life span.

Nice TV especially when caught on sale
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not much to say other than it’s a great TV. When you view 4K content, it’s astonishing. Regular TV is good as well. Great size for price point as 83-85, you’re paying a hefty premium.

Outstanding Flat Screen! My best ever AV purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK, I'm in the AV business. I review the world's best high end audio equipment for AVShowrooms. But, I am not a video expert. This TV replaces a 60" Pioneer Elite Plasma. I am shocked at how good the image is. I was afraid that by getting the 850 I would be leaving some image quality behind (vs. the 900, 940). This is not the case for my needs. I have the panel in a room with $200,000 of audio equipment. It is not embarrassed! The blacks are great and I don't see any area backlighting anomalies. Also the "over the air" tuner pulls in 80% more stations than the Pioneer Elite. 4K Netflix is almost 3D. I can't stop watching movies and shows. I do not regret the higher price models (though they do look better in the store). The Magnolia staff is fantastic as well. Highly recommended.

Like watching everything in the Theatre!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very skeptical about getting a 75" tv due to never seeing one that had a great all around picture. This TV blows my mind!! I'm an active gamer (Xbox X games look outstanding!), sports, & 4K movie watcher. My roommates 55" OLED has nothing on this, oled has slightly richer colors but that's literally it & not by much after you get the color setting dialed in for your room it. No action blur when watching sports (football, baseball, & basketball checked) and I'm so much happier with 20 more inches. Under $2000 for a TV of this size and quality is a no brainer. Make sure you have min 12 but suggested 15' of distance to sit back from it is suggested or you're going to miss something. Hahaha, seriously!

Great picture, poor dark colors
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tv brightness and motion are great, but the blacks on the picture are not very deep. Since this tv is edge lit the blacks look gray.

Just OK. Shows too much glare.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV on sale and thought it was an awesome deal. I can tell you, the programming they have on the display at the store and what you see at home are two very different things. Yeah I know, 4K vs HD, blah blah. But even the upscaling didn’t make the HD picture as good as the picture on my 8 year old Samsung 55 inch LED TV. Also, Sony has a habit of not putting any anti glare coating on their TVs so watching the TV at night necessitated turning off the overhead light in the living room. The software system is also a little clunky and not as responsive as I’d like. Overall, I am not impressed with this TV, but it a very big screen for a decent price if you get it on sale. I would recommend it to a friend, but only if they understand it’s shortcomings and are ok with them. I exchanged it today for the 75 inch Samsung QLED Q7F. Much higher price but an absolute world of difference in picture quality.

Black screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV in September 2017. Tv does not turn on. I tried hard resetting it many times but all I get is a steady green light. Decided to reach out to Sony customer service via chat, I’m told there’s nothing to do but service it. I have an old Samsung and LG in the bedrooms much older than this Sony. Not buying Sony again.

Blinking black screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first tv I brought home 75" 850e looked ok but had light bleed in the top right corner and lower left. Then on day two of owning, the TV powered off on its own. Upon turning it back on and resuming Netflix, the tv screen started blinking to a black screen and then back to Netflix two to three times. I am having another one delivered Thursday, if this one displays any of the same symptoms, I will be going back to Samsung. Outside of these issues, the picture is great in 4k HDR but is nowhere close to the upscaling quality of my old Samsung 7000

Broke in 3 days.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased 12-23-17. On 12-26-17, I got up and turned on the TV. All I got was a red LED blinking 6 times. Googled it. Did a reset. Nothing. All Sony said to those forums I read was a vanilla apology and recommendations to take it in for service. Come on Sony, a brand new TV that cost as much as a little used car lasted much less than the used car itself. What a shame. Now I'm going to waste more time taking the hugh TV back while I'm in the return period. What a huge inconveniece during the holiday and while I'm on vacation. Serves me right to stray from a tried and true brand SAMSUNG; 65 inch LED going on 7 yrs now.
