    Sony Junk. Good picture but they dont make their own screens. Android updates and have to unplug the tv. Jesus Sony, get your heads out of your butts. Junk. Avoid All Sony.

    Never Again Sony or Best Buy

    After much research I purchased (12/21) a 75” Sony tv for Florida home. The home is humidity controlled and occupied for four months per year. I had previously bought many Sony products. Upon return this year, the tv is loaded with pink/purple verticals and triple images. No steps by Sony people helped telling me the screen was defective and authorized dealer repair was 200 miles away. After three calls to retail I could not even get callback from Best Buy people. Obviously the repair costs (and future problem possibility )makes this unrealistic.

    Two years and one month into owning the TV and it’s now a paperweight! It will not power on and there are no warranty options for it since it only has coverage for one year. Do not buy todays garbage quality electronics without an extended warranty!!

      The required wall-mount bracket for the KD75X80J is SU-WL855(not supplied). For product protection and safety reasons, Sony strongly recommends that installation of your TV be performed by Sony dealers or licensed contractors. Do not attempt to install it yourself.

    Bad Smart Google TV apps.

    This sony 75” x80j tv has a lot of software issues with hardware 4 cores cpu ARM cortex A73 @ 1.8 ghz, 3gb ram with 1 gb available memory system, with 4gb storage it left 1.5 gb limited internal storage free space after android O.S 10 and all sony streaming google tv apps. The problem is many streaming apps that came from sony google tv ( netflix, apple tv apps, disney, amazon prime video, youtube, etc. ) it kept crashing when watching on it then it effects lost sound not only to all sony streaming google tv apps but also to tv channel that use antenna over the air with coax tv connection and any external devices that use hdmi connection to tv , another effect is some remote buttons such as sound, tv settings, apps had stopped working from this software issue. Fully Factory Reset and O.S Restore suggested by Sony Tech Support did not fix this problem. Black level pictures is not really good on HDR

    Wont Turn on After only 8 MONTHS OLD!

    Had this TV only 8 MONTHS, Came home from work one day and would not turn on, changed outlets, tried everything to get it to turn on and nothing! So now we are on week 2 of dealing with Sony to try and get this not even year old tv replaced!!

    Nice TV, but has bad quirks

    Nice TV, but has quirks: audio switches to Spanish whenever a channel jump/quick view is done, but ONLY during Sunday night NFL broadcasts. Another annoyance is that when changing to a different channel, there's a 8-10 second black screen delay before the new channel broadcast starts. Another annoyance is that the channel guide never offers any programming info for network channels. Other, non-network channels are fine, but Fox, ABC, NBC, and CBS only display "No Information Provided". My previous TV (Samsung) had none of the problems. Also, the picture is VERY dark; especially when streaming movies. I would NOT buy the Sony again.

      Thank you for sharing your feedback on your experience using our X80J LED 4K HDR Google TV. We regret to hear you're running into difficulty with certain channels switching the audio to Spanish and problems when changing channels on the TV. We want to make sure you get taken care of.

      For Spanish audio on your TV programming, you can press the AUDIO button on the remote to turn off Second audio program (SAP). This feature allows you to select multilingual source sound or dual sound for the program currently being viewed (depending on program source).

      It is normal that it can take up to 5 seconds to display the picture when changing channels or changing inputs. There can be a slightly longer delay when changing to and from an input connected with an HDMI cable. If you are using a cable or satellite box, it may take in excess of 5 seconds and the picture may momentarily distort or flash when changing channels, especially when you are tuning between a high definition and standard definition channel.

      When using Enhanced format, picture may not be output correctly. If this function is not really needed, we can set this back to Standard Format. This should speed up source switching. To change the HDMI signal format setting, press the (Quick Settings) button on the remote control, then select [Settings] — [Channels & Inputs] — [External inputs] — [HDMI signal format]

      We also recommend doing a soft reset. Hold down the power button for 5-10 seconds until the restart screen option comes up, select restart and let the TV shutdown and restart itself and see if the problem is still there.

    We bought this TV in place of a Samsung we really wanted because it wasn't avaliable at the store when we went to pick it up: big mistake. When the Sony appeared to have a grainy, green blur going from the bottom to the top of the display sporadically, inside the first week, we used the exchange policy to get the same model delivered... And problem with the second one. Going through over 12 hours of calls with Best Buy to end up in the same place is more than frustrating - it's wrong. Not sure if i want to purchase again from Sony or Best Buy after very bad support on a $120 protection plan and bad product.

    We still cannot get the install we paid for. This is the last time we will purchase or allow a client to purchase. Salesperson lies zero response from install setup. Call after call. Putting TV on curb and canceling charge.

    doesnt connect to wifi

    It disconnects from my wifi regularly and i am very unhappy with that. All my other devices connect to the wifi but it has trouble staying connected. it will disconnect multiple times a use.

    DO NOT BUY SONY TV

    We bought Sony TV - KD-75X80J ago at Best Buy for over $1,400. We watch TV barely ever - only during some sport events. Last month it started acting strangely, first with darker spots, and few lines on the top, until it is all black now. At the beginning, Sony customer service was able to help us overcome the issues, but not any more. They said that newest software is fine with it, that our warranty is out, that also they do NOT have a repair shop to send us to in PA, and that basically we are on our own! They said this issue is uncommon. We bought this brand first place because we TRUSTED Sony! But this is a huge mistake! We are not happy that such an expensive TV is broken after short period of time, and that they are not taking accountability. Very disappointed!!

    I am extremely disappointed with my Sony TV purchase. I bought it on June 23, 2021, for $2,200 plus taxes. The TV stopped working in December 2023, and despite my repeated attempts to get it fixed, it took Geek Squad a full six months to respond and come over to diagnose the issue. When they finally arrived, they told me the TV was irreparable. As a long-time Sony customer who has purchased four big Sony TVs, including this one, I expected much better quality and service. Unfortunately, this experience has completely eroded my trust in Sony products. I'm still paying for a TV that I had to trash in June 2024, and I will no longer be buying Sony TVs in the future. This has been a very frustrating and costly experience.

    The first tv I got had a line straight thru the screen was told it was a bad tv and pixels were damaged had to have a replacement delivered and they tried to make me repay to have it set up again I didn’t ask to buy a broken tv in the first place!!!!
