Sony has a Horrible customer service, if you buy this TV don’t blame anyone else but yourself! I paid top dollar for a top of the line sony products and they won’t even stand behind their creation! I got this tv for less than a yead and a half and it doesn’t work anymore! Done $3500 in the garbage! Sony has gone downhill, they’re not the top anymore! Never again will I deal with Sony.

Got a defective unit out of the box. Had a grey vertical band on the screen. Had to return it but it was a hassle with a 77in TV

3 years in, review. Sony has best video processing technology around. Their TVs look the best in all aspects. Excellent picture, best sound (especially models with acoustic panels) and they look like a million buck$.
I'm using its panel as a center channel speaker in relatively expensive HT system, and the tv's performance in this app is outstanding, with voices coming from the screen (can't bit that effect) if properly setup. 5 stars is not enough.

Tv crapped out after a year and half. Possibly a power board or main board if I’m lucky because it would be repairable. Do some research on Sony issues before buying. They have a lot of issues just outside of the Sony 1 year factory warranty.

Installation scheduled from 7am to 1 pm. At 1:25 No show. I was told installation was a few minutes late. At 4pm still no show. Now 4:45 pm waiting for a answer. The four people I talked to could care less. I am very disappointed. I wasted a whole day waiting for an explanation.

Don’t buy. Go with the LG. with all the features that are supposed to prevent burn in/ screen retention it still happened in less than 6 months of owning the tv. I’ve done multiple refresh and it keeps coming back sooner and sooner

Has a flickering white line on top of all programs / movies that do not come in full screen. This should not occur on a $3,400 tv.

Well, you’ve got to put some work into this one. But, after hours of dialing in all picture variables and options, you will be happy. Bought from Best Buy and now own three OLED panels. 55”, 65” and now this 77”. They’ve all shared the living room spot at one time or another. Anyone who moves into the larger sets (75”+) will tell you that there is no substitute for scale. This is so true. I wish I could have a 90” OLED (LG’s 88” 8K is available for $30,000). So, I’ll have to wait another seven years or so for that! This set does upscale, as well as many other TVs from QLED and Nano Cell, etc. But, this Sony does create realism. Better than my LG. But, remember, the chips in all TVs are getting better and less expensive every year. I paid $4000.00 and felt it was a bargain, actually. You see, I sold televisions for 15 years and remember selling 60” Pioneer Elite plasmas for $17,000. They were upwards of $25,000 when first introduced in the late 1990s. And they weren’t even 1080p!! Unreal. Sony has a lot to be proud of with this offering. Yea, we all know it’s an LG panel, but the AG9 is a cut above what I know to be out there currently. Start streaming NOW! If your on cable your wasting your money. This set needs the best sent to it. Less compression with streaming. Sound is not good for us audiophiles, and I had no intention to ever use it. Come on, most of us wacks have thousands wrapped up in speakers alone. Sitting eight feet away is perfect. But, the day’s coming when 90”+ TVs in 8K will be upon us. We need native signals right now in 4K; and sadly we’re just scratching the surface getting much at all. I want bigger and better resolution. For now, this set is masterful in getting my wife and I a little closer.

I purchased the Sony AG9 Master series 77 inch TV yesterday. I took it home and and set it up and was astounded at the picture quality.
I immediately put it to the ultimate test. I called up Goliath on Prime. For those of you who are not familiar with the series, there are a tremendous number of dark scenes in bars and offices.
When they started to pop on the screen I was able to see things I did not even know they were there in my former 4k TV. It was a 6 year old top of the line Sony 65 inch 4k TV that I loved.
It became quite evident in many scenes the director and/or cinematographer were using light in some very creative ways.
When it is supposed to be dark the screen is black, not kinda black, but black. Colors really pop against the black with absolutely no bleed.
It would take way to many words to describe the detail in the images on this screen. This TV puts movie makes to the test and provides no place for inferior images to hide.
Yes it is very expensive, I paid $4500 for it. However, Sony delivered an image like no other, that I have ever seen.
Go ahead and bite the bullet, you will be glad you did. Any by the way Goliath first season, is outstanding

I’ve now owned this tv since 2020. I have absolutely zero regrets. It checks every box you can think of even being 3 years old. I’ve yet to see a tv that surpasses the image quality of this tv. The after market price on this tv is still holding strong and for good reason. Sony knocked it out of the park with this one.
