Solid premier tv with true colors. Great refresh rate with no pixelation. Although the only thing I don’t like is dark scenes, it’s tough to see at night even when lights are off.

I originally purchased the LG C1 77" OLED TV, however returned it the next day after learning that Sony A80J dropped its price to $3,000 which is only $100 more expensive than LG C1. The Sony A80J provides a slight advantage in picture quality for movies. Its picture quality is brighter than the LG C1. Unfortunately, its variable refresh rate (VRR) support hasn't been implemented yet, but it's set to be added in a future firmware update. This gives the LG C1 an advantage. If you're going to spend a lot of time gaming then I recommend purchasing the LG C1. But if your main usage is for movies then I recommend purchasing the Sony A80J. In addition, the sony A80J is better for cable TV over the LG C1.

All i can say is WOW!!! Wish I bought it sooner -- but at least I will have it for the Super bowl. Watching hockey is amazing. The TV is easy to operate and with the BOSE sounds system it's like being in a theatre. Easy to set up and access all the applicable apps. but let's face it the real winner here is the size, I thought it may be too big for my living room -not even close - I wish more channels broadcast in 4K - which they ultimately will but it's still an amazing TV - when you view some shows, the OLED view really stands out. I would definitely recommend this TV. PS - I also bought the same TV (55 inch) for my family room -- just as good just smaller

We purchased a 65" A80J and exchanged for a 77" in the following week. The price is steep but is SO WORTH IT. There were 3 TV models in consideration - A80J, LG CX, LG C1 Let me start with one CON: - This TV only has 2x 2.1 HDMI ports and it's painful. I currently have a PS5, Sonos Soundbar, and a Roku. I want to upgrade to the newest Apple TV, but it requires an HDMI 2.1 port for maximum quality, which isn't possible since I already have 2 devices using those slots. The LG models on the other hand have 4x 2.1 HDMI ports which is MUCH better. Now the PROS: - Image quality is second to none - Motion processing is amazing - Is plenty bright for my livingroom, right next to large windows - Glossy screen compared to the matte one found on the smaller A80J models (it's not a huge difference but reflections seem to be handled a bit better) - The feet are adjustable so you can fit a soundbar under the TV, which you can't do with the LG models. Most people mount their TVs so it won't be an issue but worth mentioning. If you plan on having more than 2 HDMI 2.1 devices connected, then you should definitely go LG. If not, you can't go wrong with this TV.

Amazing picture. If you can afford it, OLED is the only way to go. People may say the LG is better for gaming, but I am gaming with an Xbox series X in 4K at 120 FPS, and have to issues whatsoever. Awesome picture with no lag. If you will be watching movies as well, I would definitely recommend the Sony. I believe it has a better and more accurate picture for film based content. It may only have 2 HDMI 2.1 inputs, but really only the 2 new gaming systems will even be able to take advantage of the higher bit rate of these for many, many years.

I had a pretty disastrous experience with the LG C1. I returned two of them. You can read my review of the C1 on that product page if you like. Once I got fed up with LG I decided to give Sony a shot. Wow! What a great TV! Amazing picture, smooth video, fast menus. It's near perfect. It really is a stunning TV. I can't comment on the TV's sound as I use a receiver and surround system. I have the TV connected to a Marantz receiver running my cable TV, 3 game consoles and a PC. The A80J handles it all flawlessly. The C1 not so much. I never doubted Sony made a great product, I only avoided them in the past because I don't like paying the extra $$$ for the Sony name. However, in this case, it was totally worth it. If i had to find a couple of minor gripes it doesn't have the game optimizer mode the LG had, but it looks so good you would never miss it or even be able to tell. I do wish some of the instructions were clearer. Setting the remote to control my receiver and STB was a little tricky. And, you can't use the TV sound as your center channel as you can on the A90J. Really minor stuff, and none of those are deal breakers. Short story, if you're looking for a gorgeous OLED a little on the larger side be sure to check this one out.

I have owned this tv for a little over 4 months now and I do love this tv! I can honestly say that I continue to be impressed each time I turn it on. I watch this tv in a moderate to very bright room and it has no problem handling it. Picture quality is insane. It looks especially great in a dark room too. I watch a lot of football and this tv is about as good as it gets when it comes to motion and processing. I do some gaming on this tv and it looks super with no lag at all. If you have the room the 77” is the way to go as it almost insures that you will win the “panel lottery” and receive the more desirable EVO panel. It also has a slightly less reflective glossy coating vs the mat finish on the other size A80Js. The new A80Ks are just coming out for 2022 and so far the professional reviewers are reporting that there are no real significant improvements to warrant spending the extra cash for the 2022 models. In fact, the A80J will continue to come down in price and by the time Black Friday gets here there will killer deals on this set. I purchased an A90J remote online and it works perfectly so now I have the backlit functions. I also get plenty of “TV Love” as my friends all tell me that this is the best looking tv they have ever seen! Heck even my wife occasionally comments and says “wow” the picture on this thing looks amazing!

We had a hard time deciding between the Sony A90J and the A80J. The A90J is the flagship model for this year, has a backlit remote and an upgraded panel from last years models. Since we do not upgrade TVs often, we had already decided to splurge on our living room TV to get the latest tech. In the end, the 65” seemed too small and the 83” too big. If the A90J had a size in the 70’s we would have gotten it. We went with the 77” A80J and couldn’t be happier. The panel is supposedly similar to last years model but we couldn’t see the difference. The picture quality is awesome on the A80J. Our A80J is connected to a streaming device but we no longer use it. The Sony already has all the apps we use, the picture seems slightly better than going though the 4K streaming device and having one remote to control everything is great. The streaming device we have is not capable of 120hz so that is likely why. The TV has very good sound but we preferred the sound through our own speakers, especially when watching movies.

If you are big on a cinematic movie experience this is the best OLED for the price now that it is on sale for $3499. I can not get enough of how clear and the movies are on this TV. I had a LG CX previously which was great but the A80j offers more settings to customize your movie to give you the image that you want. If you are big on gaming this TV doesn't have VRR support yet but it will come via an update later this year (hopefully). Regardless the gaming experience has been a pleasure on this TV as it is. If you are a gaming buff that needs the latest and greatest tech go with LG CX or C1. If your gaming needs are modest but enjoy a great movie this is the best TV out there. Google TV works smooth and its easy to navigate. Big downside is if you have more than one Youtube profile in your household that you will like like to have set up on this TV you cannot. Only the primary Google account used to set up the TV will be able to log in to YouTube. So your spouse or kids cannot have their own profile. Unless they stream a YouTube video from their phone/tablet. Otherwise this TV worth it!

After much deliberation, I took the plunge and purchased an OLED. I came from a Sony 65" X900E. I wasn't bad. But, on dark scenes, you would always know it was an LCD. A relative needed a new set and I decided I'd give her the LCD and refresh. Yes - it's pricey. That said, absolutely no regrets. I had no idea what I was missing. My only concern with OLED was brightness. The A90J is reportedly brighter than the A80J. That being said, the A80J fits my needs fine. It isn't as bright as the LCD, but it's sufficient in my room, which has a single 4x6 window with cloth shades. I don't find reflection from lamps and flourescent lights distracting at all. If you have very discriminating tastes when watching movies/TV, do it - it's worth it. As to the purchase - the TV went on sale the next day. I went on chat and Best Buy refunded the difference in price since I was in the exchange period - so, thank you Best Buy. I reserve large purchases to BB because of your exceptional service.

This bravia 77in is amazing. The picture quality is fantasic. The pre installed streaming services is great. One touch and bam streaming is on. The installers were great, mounted the tv and set up the tv with remote. The installers where wearing masks and very polite. We paired the tv with the sonos arc sound bar and sub woofer with surrond speakers. SUPER LOUD SYSTEM. CONS- negative is with the tv remote. Would've been nice if it was back lit. You cannot see the buttons in the dark. Also, this is a google tv. Cannot figure out how to surf the net as we did before with our android tv. Recommend to all.

Went for this one over the LG C1 and I have no regrets. Has a bit more pop to my eye. Movies, shows, and gaming on ps5 are all great. Only down side is limited HDMI 2.1 inputs, but I only have the ps5 so not a big deal at this time. By the time I need more I’m sure I’ll have a 2.1 receiver. Using the rtings setting and pretty happy with those.

Prior to this TV I owned my very first OLED TV the LG GX. I have to say I was disappointed. After owning a 75” Sony 950 LED TV I felt it was tome to finally splurge and purchase and OLED and listened to the hype surrounding LG. I should have stuck to my gut and gone with the Sony to start. After trading in the LG I purchased the Sony A80J and man did I finally get the wow factor I had been looking for from and OLED. The depth of the picture , the crispness, the vibrant colors all came alive once I purchased the Sony. My advice if your going to go OLED pay a little more and get the Sony for its superior processor. LG during fast moving scenes would give me blurry artifacts movie after movie. The Sony. Crisp as can be! Exactly why you pay top dollar. To get a top dollar tv. Love it. Highly recommend the Sony A80J. Yes the A90 is a little brighter. But honestly unless you’re going to have them side by side in your house it’s hard to notice the difference.

After 13 years with a 46" Sony XBR4, it was overdue for an upgrade. I spend a lot of time looking between all of the main options out there: Samsung, Vizio, LG, Sony. The big battle of information between LED\QLED\MiniLED vs OLED was a real pain. When I bought the XBR4, it was a similar battle between LCD and Plasma. I spent hours looking up reviews, watching videos and ripping my hair out trying to narrow the list of options down to figure out what the purchase would be. Once I decided to go the OLED route, it was down between the LG and Sony models. To keep it short. LG pretty much makes the OLED screens for everyone. The choice then came down to extras, quality and power. With the A80J using a more robust processor, my history with my last Sony TV, review scores and sitting down at the store watching the display multiple times it sealed the deal. The level of detail this TV provides is nothing short of amazing. Crisp, Clear, PLENTY of options\settings to allow you to fine tune the viewing experience to your liking, and the cherry on top is the audio. Sony was able to pack in a pretty impressive audio experience into an extremely thin package. The only thing "lacking" would be solid, deep bass. But I would think that this is going to be lacking from any option on the market. The audio is still solid enough not to need to purchase a sound bar. 10/10 would buy again.

Great picture! Perfect blacks. Works well next to a window. Easy to use interface. Able to switch from apps quickly and easily.

Our third Sony Bravia - love the brand and model(s). We have gone up in sizes from 35” to our current new purchase 77” WOW! Not just the larger screen but the Oled is awesome. Being your average boomers there is always usually some technology lag time for us but with this Bravia it has been very smooth (even though reading glasses are needed for everything)! Unfortunately we are a bit disappointed that the remote is not backlit.

The Sony A80J has been the best tv I've ever owned. The picture is exceptional. The colors are vibrant and the motion clarity is superior to any television I've ever owned. Being an OLED, the black levels are far superior to both edge lit and backlit LED televisions. When watching letterboxed movies in a dark room, the television essentially disappears giving the impression of watching a television on a movie screen.

All I can say is wow. This tv is HUGE and looks great!!! My seating, directly in front of the TV, is roughly 9.5 feet away and no issues. I have only streamed 4K and Dolby vision content and have been impressed. I also use YouTube tv at 1080 and it still looks great. My panel was in great shape - dark blacks, clear whites (no pinkish hue). I’m very happy. I don’t have windows directly on this TV in my living room and it is plenty bright. It’s TV definitely needs a sound bar, only downside.

Amazing TV great full tv audio and the picture is outstanding. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase.
