Sony 77in a80k is the best tv out there

And i have purchased many, including the latest samsung 8K tv. And although the samsung has a great screen, and is rentna burning bright (too bright for any dark room) it needs a great signal to see it. I have cable tv and tivo that send a sub par signal, and the samsung processor is just not up to the task of upscaling it to a better picture. The sony does thiis with ease. Sub par signals look perfect. And so does 4k streaming content. And its better than the lg g2 if you are a baseball fan. Lg has no mlb app because of a conflict contest with mlb. Sony does.

Great OLED TV at a good price

So far it has impressed. Blacks are really dark, colors are vibrant and images are crisp and clean. I've tested it out on action movies as well as dark movies and have been impressed with the motion processing and dark scenes. The UI is snappy and if has tons of adjustments. The wife was also happy with the sleekness of the physical design given it's very minimal stand. The TV's speakers are very good, but would still recommend pairing with a good sound bar for the fully immersive experience. I paired with a Sonos Arc and subwoofer and the pairing was seamless!

The only thing working against it is the fact that it is in a really competitive space. Even on sale, it is 200 dollars more than the LG c2 and the C2 performance is equal, if not a bit brighter. The c2 also has 4 hdmi 2.1 ports to the sonys two.. the a80k is an outstanding tv for anyone who wants to hook up the tv, put it in custom mode and enjoy amazing performance. It just costs more than arguably better competitor displays.

Highly Recommend For Pic Quality and Sound Volume

I got the 77” it’s HUGE. Great TV the picture is incredible. I do use a Sonos Arc sound bar. The TV comes with good sounding speakers but not something you will want to use with a TV this big and watching movies.

The picture is extremely clear…almost looks like it has depth. I would HIGHLY recommend this TV. Everyone that comes over is amazed by the picture quality. The only reason for 4 stars is for Sony including a remote without a backlight. The remote is great, but for a TV that is made for theater rooms priced at a premium price…should have a backlit remote

LED to OLED

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I came from a 65” Vizio P Quantum (2018) series LED, which was insanely bright, but gradients were terrible and had none of the newer gaming features. I’ve been pining over an OLED for awhile with my love of movies and games. I did as much research as I could, and bought while it was on sale, just before rtings released their review. I was between this and the LG C1 or C2. I watch a lot of movies and Sony is known for their image processing and great out of the box color accuracy. This A80K was also supposed to be brighter, using the new evo panels from LG. I watch in a daylight basement with no real direct light on the screen. It can get pretty dark down there and while the A80k isn’t as bright as maybe the LG G2s or my previous Vizio, it is still bright enough and the colors are what makes my purchase worth it. The blacks are inky and the colors just pop. The previous series A80J didn’t have all the latest gaming features, so when I saw this model had it all, out of the box and not a “someday” firmware upgrade l, that was a plus. There’s rumors that Sony does dimming when it detects logos on screen (think game HUDs) and stays in the dimmed state, but I haven’t seen it yet and if I have I haven’t noticed it on my Xbox Series X. The gaming mode tweaks aren’t as good as the LG series, but they seem fine enough. For awesome color accuracy, image processing and up to date gaming features, this is a great upgrade. Wish it got a little brighter in HDR, but that’s a panel/technical issue.
