Sony pic was equal with better build and much better apps. Always go to Sony in the end love this TV. Not to say LG was not good, but not sane build quality.

However its not as simple to use. It does require some calibration before you get the vest picture. Once you set it up, it is worth it.

Not great for broadcast sports

Streaming was decent, but not substantially better than the old tv, especially at this price point I expected much better. In store demo was misleading. Going back.

With HDMI 2.1, you can get an up-to-120fps framerate on compatible games, so you can take on any challenge in shooting, sports and high-performance games with near instant on-screen action. You’ll also enjoy ultra-smooth gaming with reduced input lag of 8.5 ms with 4K/120fps and dedicated Game Mode. Game supporting 4K/120fps required. The input lag time is measured with BRAVIA XR models via 4K/120fps game HDMI input based on internal testing conditions, and may differ in models, real-time usage environment or specific conditions. 4K: 3840 x 2160 pixels. If there's pixelation or motion blur on the TV, change the Motionflow setting to off.
On the supplied TV remote, press the HOME button.
Select the Settings gear or sprocket icon.
Under the TV category, select Picture & Display or Display & Sound.
Select Picture adjustments.
Select Advanced settings.
Select Motion. If your TV has the CineMotion setting, set it to Low or Off.
Select Motionflow.
Select Off.

Not a worthy upgrade from the A80J

BB graciously allowed me to exchange it but there was no stock, so I paid extra for the A80K. I'm a bit disappointed. The screen appears to be softer than the J model. I think its because the J had a "mirror-like" screen and the K has a somewhat matte appearance which "dulls" the image. Also the matte finish is not as attractive with the screen reflecting many colors during the daytime when it is off. As the screen isn't "perfectly" flat, you can see those distortions. The screen speakers are supposed to be better (5 drivers instead of 2) but I don't notice a difference. A really big problem is the much inferior remote control supplied with this model. Its smaller with much less functionality (eg. no numbers for direct input). The new remote does not control my Sonos sound bar whereas the old remote worked perfectly. The BB installer was surprised by this shortcoming. I had to buy an aftermarket remote to get that functionality back. The new model is supposed to be brighter, but not noticeable.
