    Very disappointed grew up with Sony TV Brand but this one broken with vertical lines does not sync with Sony SoundBar Not the Okd Sony Brand

    Trust me when I say buying Sony products over the past year is my biggest consumer regret in recent memory. We've spent about $20k worth of Sony products with our new home and are having problems with several of them and their technical support does nothing to help resolve the issues. A $3k TV with a faulty screen, a soundbar with connection problems, sound issues in another TV. They will put you in a state of limbo through several layers of support, promising callbacks that never come. They are so far behind the competition when it comes to technical support and resolutions. I also have had issues with Samsungs and don't recommend them either, but in this race to the bottom post-COVID, Sony is leading the pack.

    Say no to Sony!

    I unfortunately cannot recommend this product. I purchased the 77” a80k and the a7000 sounbar system with additional speakers. When set up with tv as center speaker, it has constant white noise/static. If you look on the internet, there are numerous people. Called Sony and they are aware of this problem and continue to sell a defective product. My options were to have it repaired, they buy it back, or return. They were unable to repair, due to no techs in my area. What a mess. As others mentioned, stay away from sony, as soon as i bought this, my PS5 developed LAN issues, which is also a known sony issue. Junk!

    Sony Bravia Gold Service Comes Through

    Final update and return to 5 star rating: Sony stood by their TV and replaced the power supply board, the Bravia is up and running again. Delivering beautiful picture quality and tiered with Denon receiver with Infinity 5.2.2 speakers - theater sound quality - life is great again! It was hard getting to talk to Sony, but once we connected with the correct group, they were excellent, thanks Sony Miami service department. Update: Sony contacted us and they have agreed to send a service company to fix the Bravia given that it is part of the Gold family. As such I am increasing the rating to 4 stars as the TV itself is excellent, just expect better quality in reliability, MTBF should be in the order of 10 years at least.Will update after the service is completed and as the Bravia comes back alive. Bought the Bravia 77 inch thinking that it was a high quality TV as my older Bravia, still kicking since 2008. But not the case, shortly after the warranty period expired the low quality components that they use in Mexico shown it's face by giving me the black screen and 4 red blinking lights. Worse, I could not get Sony to respond.

    Stunning is the Word of the Day

    I bought a Sony 77” A80K 4K OLED TV. It was a display model and was sold as an open box, excellent. It replaced a 2011 Panasonic 65” 1080p plasma TV. I didn’t expect the Sony OLED to be much better than the Panasonic plasma, other than its 40% bigger size (in square inches). After I changed picture settings to those recommended by an expert on YouTube, I was stunned by the upgrade in picture quality! The TV is much better than I expected it to be! How could this be? I think it’s the upscaler. From the information I could find on the internet, high-end Sony TVs have the best upscalers. Other brands lag, although I read that they are trying to close the gap. I’m used to 1080p. But, the Sony TV upscales it to so-called “near native 4K.” It’s stunning to me! Now, I know to buy a new TV for its upscaler, as well as its size, even if there aren’t very many 4K shows that I watch. 1080p shows will look closer to 4K on a high-end Sony TV. This is too awesome! Regarding open box, I don’t know why a lot more people don’t buy open box. It reminds me of the time before used cars became popular and were great deals. You still have to shop wisely, but there are great deals to be had.

    The picture is amazing. We looked at many different brands and the Sony really stood out from all the others. It's blacks allow it to really make the colors pop. The TV sound is very good on it's own but I would recommend that you upgrade with at least a sound bar or if you can a surround sound system to give you the ultimate immersive experience.

    The K model was a replacement for the J model I originally purchased that was zapped by a power surge. Sony put an anti glare screen on the K model which took away all benefits of oled. DONT BUY IT.

    Picture quality is great!!!. "You have to select settings that you prefer" Tv is connected through Ethernet cable, "my preference" there is absolutely no drag or sync issues at all. There is WiFi option as well. interactive part is easy once you learn the control and tv options. Tv is connected to surround sound receiver through HDMI cable and automatically connected to my existing system and lets me use controller to control the functions.

    Sony 77" OLED - bent

    the picture is great...But the TV has a slight curve to it and has 3 cresses you can see from the side. Since the TV was shipped to me and I opened it and installed it...Best Buy can always say that I damaged the TV. This is the problem with having a 77" TV delivered and not opened by the store reps or Sony to see for themselves the condition it was out of the box. It's not perfect and I am a person who knows quality and knows manufacturing processes.

    Sony 77 OLED TV pictures are as goog as my LG TV. I went to Best Buy to get an LG 77in TV after my 3rd visit my wife and thought the Sony was as good or better picture as the LG 77 and saved money

    Google TV! Don't buy unless you love Google.

    Beautiful picture, great sound! That's the ONLY reason I'm giving it 3 stars. BUT - it is a Google TV. I was never advised of this when I made the purchase. When Geek Squad set it up, I saw there was a Google TV option, but I told them I did not want Google TV, so we by-passed that option. Later, after they left, we tried to watch Hulu. It turned out, the only way to get Hulu was to login to Google TV using my Google account and download it as an app. After that, all the streaming services show up as a Google app, even though several were native to the TV. Which means that Google can now track ALL my viewing habits. I have no idea why anyone would want a Google TV to begin with. I'd also note that getting to the 'over-the-air' antenna, which I use when cable goes down, requires extra steps compared to the LG I replace. I'm returning the TV and exchanging it for the LG C2. Unless you're in love with Google, my advise is to avoid this TV.

You can enjoy some functions on your TV device without a Google account. You can watch TV programs and enjoy all Sony apps, home network functions for the Album, Music, and Video apps and use the Network Electronic Program Guide (EPG). In addition, certain functions, such as the Google voice search function, Chromecast built-in (Google Cast), internet browsing, and the YouTube™ app, are available without logging in to a Google account. However, you will not be able to rent or buy movies, TV shows, and apps from the Google Play™ Store. Check the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for additional information.
