Color, sound, visual is just outstanding. I know the price will drop some what as time goes but I had to have it now. About 3 years ago this tv would of cost 3 times as much. Not sure what’s the next best thing but I’m good for years to come.

The size and picture clarity is such that we can actually the pores on people’s faces. Sound is excellent- not using a sound bar. Wondering though if a subwoofer would add a richer sound. I hope it lasts a long time because it is really expensive.

Feed it the right sources (4K UHD, Dolby Vision, etc.) and your jaw will drop. That being said, it also handles regular HD up-scaling superbly. Keep in mind this is PRE CALIBRATION and the panel is still being broken in so I expect the picture to improve. Lastly, no regrets going with the 83 inch model. I sit about 9 ft away.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So I bought the 78 inch Samsung curved TV back in 2014/2015 for 7k (1k off regular price) on Black Friday and when I first had it up & running I can remember thinking how great the picture was. Although I didn't really need a new TV I always stroll through the back TV section in Best Buy on my frequent visits and this 83" inch monster caught my eye. The picture quality is in my view twice as good as my old Samsung - Technology has come a long way in the last 7 years and this TV puts everything you view in IMAX quality. Of course, I recommend everyone do your research on the difference between OLED & QLED and understand how light or dark the room the TV goes in can make some difference but in my view if you want the best overall picture the Sony A90J OLED is the way to go. Oh by the way....make sure you also set it up with a nice Sonos home theatre system so that when your watching Die Hard at Christmas time you can rattle the windows a little :)

Discounted from $8000 to $6000 makes it a no-brainer for somebody looking for a premium TV. The usual cited cons apply: still no VRR support (where is it Sony??), few HDMI plugs (not a big problem if you have an AVR.) Other than that, I think this TV looks much better than the LG C1 (its main competitor) and its user interface is much cleaner. It's also amazingly bright. I've noticed some odd HDMI-CEC and Dolby Vision interactions here and there, but I don't know if that's a problem with the TV or if it's a problem with the receiver/devices. Either way those issues have been workaroundable so far. I normally use a dedicated center speaker, but there was a few days where I didn't have speakers so I used the TV itself as a speaker, then also used it as a center speaker when I got my left/right speakers. It's a great speaker, the audio quality is compelling on its own. I almost feel bad leaving it off to use my dedicated center speaker instead.

Even though I got it on sale this tv was still the most ive ever spent on a tv before but the more I watched it the more i didnt regret it at all. Everything from the remote to the movies and shows were just amazing. Ill tell you this much Anime will never be seen the same in my eyes i dont regret anything about this purchase. I would gladly do it again. That image paired with my definitive technology surround sound is something to behold.

HDMI connection
You may connect your Apple TV box and Blu-ray/DVD player to the TV using an HDMI cable.
Composite connection
If your Apple TV box and Blu-ray/DVD player has composite jacks, connect them using an Analog Extension cable.
For USB, you may connect the USB device to the TV USB port to enjoy photo, music and video files stored in the device.
Addition to this, the A90J TV support Apple AirPlay which allow you to mirror the display or stream content from your Apple devices to your Android TV or Google TV. For more information on connecting external devices and features available on the A90J TV, please visit our Sony Support website.

Happy with this purchase. I originally acquired the 85' Z9K and had the same issues with picture quality on that. Save a ton of money trading for this so I'm good.

Had a 65" Sony Bravia 4K no HDR tv. I wanted this TV since it came out. With the price drop I finally pulled the trigger. My wife said the size would be nice but she probably would not notice much of a difference. She has been amazed at the picture. (right again:) This TV is beautiful. We had been watching a show that had a lot of night scenes. Watching with the other TV we had to turn the lights off to be able to distinguish anything on the screen. With this TV we can leave the lights on and still see whats on the screen much, much, better than before. The detail, color and brightness are truly awesome. Very happy with purchase. We have a Denon 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos set up, so no comment on the TV speakers, we have not used them.

Sony Keeps On Top Of The OLED scene!

It performs in all modes (Movies, Sports, Gaming, and Streaming services like YT) Sony has mastered 4K up converting for years and the new XR processor and addition of a heat sink really allow Sony to push the brightness on this set. Hands down you will not be disappointed with this if you’re looking for the best without worrying too much about your budget. Great Large 83” design and pleasing to look at in the room being a large set with a slim design, even when it is turned off it looks great in the room it’s located in.
