Distracting vertical banding is noticeable when watching baseball and dark scenes in TV and movies. I've only had this for a week so maybe it will get better (I try to be optimistic). I was expecting more from a premium TV due to Sony's reputation when it came to panels but now I'm just trying to decide if I can live with it.

These TVs are built with precision, but differences in brightness may cause slight lines or bands to appear on the screen. These TVs meet all suitable standards. This condition is normal and not a malfunction of the TV. If you should find this affects your enjoyment, you can reduce the vertical bands by reducing the ambient light that enters the TV. If you close your window coverings or adjust the direction of the TV to avoid reflections of a window on the TV screen, the vertical bands become less visible.

I love how the sound comes from the glass. Sounds great without a sound bar. Not worth the price. You'll be happier with a cheap 85" and a sound bar for half the price. I was not impressed with the picture quality.
