Just exceptional picture quality on this 85” Bravia 7, and very bright for the large great room that it is in. I thought about a Bravia 9, but watched the two TVs side by side in the showroom. Not a big enough difference from the Bravia 7, and a huge cost savings. I also compared side-by-side to a Bravia 8 TV. You can see subtly better blacks on the Bravia 8 OLED TV, but I prefer the brighter screen of this mini-LED model. During set-up, ensure you shut off the energy saving mode, or TV will be too dim. Energy saving mode has got to be the dumbest idea, it eliminates the advantage of having a bright mini-LED TV! If I could rate this TV 6 stars, I would.

Exceptional picture quality. Great brightness and crispness. In the store we could see an ever so slightly improvement in the Bravia 9, this one is nearly as good. Ther are some misleading online reviews about off-angle viewing. We see no reduction in picture quality even when viewing from an angle.

This is a really good TV — very bright, sharp, and with stunning, vibrant colors. I’m very happy with it overall. The only downside is that it’s a bit heavy to move or mount. Also, while it performs great in bright rooms, the black levels aren’t as deep or rich as what you get on an OLED. That’s why I eventually went with an OLED for my main setup — but this one is still an excellent choice!

I owned the Bravia 7 for two weeks, It's an excellent LCD tv. PQ is very good and upscaling is good. I also bought an LG G3 and compared it side by side to the LCD tv. There was no comparison. The OLED tv was better in everyway. The only down side is the price but if you can afford it the OLED is the way to go. The G3 and G4 get very bright so HDR content looks amazing. In fairness if you don't put both TV's side by side you will be happy with the Bravia. The Sony remote is horrible, You have to point it directly at the tv to get it to work and the buttons are too small. Not a fan. The LG has the magic remote with a moving cursor we love it.

The picture quality is adjusting on this Sony Bravia TV! We've bought only Samsung's for years. The sales consultant showed us what Sony has and we were sold! Went from 75" to 85" but with the clarity, blacks, whited and contrast plus the mind blowing colors this blows away the Samsung and our minds with the detail and depth!

This TV is the one you’re looking for. If an OLED doesn’t fit your room then this fits all the needs without going full out to the BRAVIA 9. At full brightness this thing is a light cannon. The only downside is the viewing angles. Which to me are fine for color: but the blooming gets rough to look at. Sony tv performance is impossible to beat when it comes to user experience.

This mini led Sony Bravia 7 is great for bright rooms as this tv can get really bright. The reflection on the screen could be better. You do see reflections if you have a light or window in front of tv. Sound quality is really good. The energy saver yearly price you see on tv isonle when ser to energy savor mode which decreases volume and brightness by quiet a bit to lower wattage. In overall general, this tv is awesome for the price range.

I enjoyed this TV, it is very birght but it can be dialed back. Colors look great and if you can get it for the right price you wont regret it. I was definitely impressed with the sound. It sounds almost like youre getting some atmos and there is a little bit of mid level in it. Of course no true lows but it somehow almost makes you feel like its there. Definiely nice if you just want to turn on a show.

Great picture on the best HDR sources, especially Dolby Atmos. The colors do pop and you can make the color volume soar. But outside of this, it is so so. Yes it pops pretty well, but I think AI and upscaling does too much and the focus almost floats in and out, mainly SDR and 480-1080P. We have an old TCL, 7 or 8 years old, Black Friday special 55 inch for 213 dollars. I had the TCL and the Sony on SLING, news anchors, and the close-up of the speaker was about the same look on both. Better color on the Sony and in most scenes it won, but in a few, the anchor himself looked the same. Sony won, but 200 dollars versus 3000, I guess I expected better upscaling. Overall Amazon and Netflix looked very good, not excellent like I thought they should, and yes I know about source quality. Also, it is very bright and the whites are really nice, but with a backlight you almost get a slight haze or a veil look in some scenes. I think this is where a G4 or OLED will win as it can get bright but still control the screen with excellent contrast and black levels. I do not see that haze on the S90D nor the C4, G4. Blacks were very good, but not OLED level of course. I compared my TV to my sons Samsung S90D and his was overall better in almost every setting and source, just the picture quality. I downloaded the new Twisters movie to Fandango and played it on my Sony B7, no matter what setting, it looked terrible. Brand new movie. Yes, some cloudy and grainy shots made that way purposefully. The 77 S90D looked twice as good. Impressive for a 2200 dollar OLED. Motion Processing is a bit better on the Sony though. My other son has the C4. I just think it is a little shy of brightness and clarity pop in many images, so image wise they traded blows but I like the Sony better, mainly due to color pop and brightness, but that is in HDR or DV. It had some glitches electronically, like the power off for no reason, but that did not occur often. I maybe have done 6 resets from scratch on this thing. It also had a weird thing where it kept playing Jaws Movie in the background when I came out of Fandango Movies, no matter what App I picked it was playing. It took me 20 minutes to figure that it was Jaws and where it came from. That was replicated several times, so I had to make sure the movie was stopped and I backed out of the App for it to stop. It seems like the antenna did not lock onto channels and I had the spinning circle for a good amount of time. My older Panasonic Plasma and the 200 dollar TCL both were more reliable and locked onto the signal better. It was very frustrating during the Super Bowl. But Sony was dead last among the 3 TV's. Pretty embarrassing Sony. Remember, the Sony blanked out and the other 2 kept playing. It also popped up weird and unexpected menus on TV channels that were strange and did not make sense. It happened often. Then, normally when a station loses strength, it has a patterned gray and black screen that is supposed to come on that says Lost Signal. We got that proper splash screen maybe 1 time out of 20, it would instead go 100% black screen. Many times we thought the TV shut itself off, and maybe it did a few of them? And a big one here, a sound glitch, there were several occasions where the TV started making loud clicking and almost alien like sounds, loudly, kind of like the acoustic setup but way different. It would make the weirdest clicking and strange sounds going between Apps and when you picked one it changed tone and cadence. One time it just clicks toned out of all speakers and the screen did not come on. There were a few other things that bothered us. A smaller one, but it should work is to set the TV to go to the Google home page every time you shut it off. Guess what, it was returning to the last input and program. Small thing but annoying when it is supposed to work. Off angle was pretty good in HDR, maybe a 6-7, standing and going off to the side looked pretty well and a slight color loss. Very poor off angle in SDR, so maybe a 4 out of 10, you know, color loss, brightness loss just buy going even a foot above the screen or a few feet of the edge of the TV. Reflection handling I would agree with Rtings, maybe a 4-5 out of 10. So I returned it today and am looking at other TV's.

      Hi Sense,

Thanks for the detailed review of the Sony BRAVIA 7 Mini LED TV. Your insights on the picture quality, especially with HDR sources and Dolby Atmos are valuable. It's clear that while the TV excels in certain areas like color pop and brightness, there are significant concerns regarding upscaling, reliability, and user experience with various inputs and apps. It's disappointing to hear about the electronic glitches and performance issues you've encountered, which seem to detract from what could otherwise be a top-tier viewing experience. To make sure your TV runs as smooth as possible, we highly recommend downloading and installing the latest software for the TV. Performing a restart may also help some issues you are experiencing. To do that, simply press the power button on the remote control for about 5-10 secs while the TV is on.

The TV is great, with one minor exception. Crisp clear colors, vivid and just love it - but it keeps powering-off and restarting. I am currently working wit the Best Buy Geek Squad to resolve. We have completed the following: 1.Power Cycle: Turn off your TV and unplug it from the wall outlet. Wait for about 10-15 minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on again. This can sometimes clear up any glitches. 2. Disable Eco Settings: Some TVs have eco or power-saving settings that can cause the TV to turn off. Go to the settings menu and disable any eco or power-saving modes. I will be engaging the Squad again as the issue with powering off and restarting on it's own continues.

      Hi EdwardM,

We're thrilled to hear you love the crisp, clear colors and vivid picture quality. It’s great to know the TV is delivering on that front. However, we’re sorry to hear about the powering-off and restarting issue, and we appreciate you taking the time to share the troubleshooting steps you’ve already tried. If your TV turns on or off at regular intervals, such as 30 minutes to an hour, it's likely caused by power saving functions such as Idle TV Standby, On Timer, and Sleep Timer. If you haven't yet, follow the steps from the link below to make sure that the TV settings that can turn the TV ON or OFF at certain times or regular intervals are disabled.
