Good not great

It is only a second long drop but it is distracting when watching movies. Also the blacks are not really deep and during black screen footage (like title cards) there are these annoying white lights in the four corners...

Posted .Hi emu88, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your X800H. We regret to hear you're having some audio issues on your TV. To better isolate this issue, are you having the audio dropouts on all the inputs or sources? For now, please try to follow the troubleshooting steps below:
Power reset the TV
Make sure Software Auto update is set to ON (for future software updates)
Set Google Play Store Auto update app to ON.
Change System Sounds to OFF.
Change eARC from Auto to OFF (Auto Default) (Not all TVs have this setting)).
Change Audio Output setting from Dolby Digital Plus to Dolby Digital.

Problems with sudden shut off!

The TV shuts off automatically after a long beeping sound. And then it rebooted and turned back on. I have checked all the auto shut off (off), timer (off) and all areas for proper setting. It happened 3 days after purchase and continued on a daily basis. Researched about this issue and may be defects on power cord. Contacted Best Buy and they will bring us a new unit and swap out the defective one. Wish Sony will address this problem to prevent negative satisfaction on consumer’s end. My second Sony TV but I am not impress with this one.

Picture quality was a lot better in the store

When I came back to the store and inquired about having that check. I thought since I had purchased the geek squad coverage it would’ve been covered. But instead I was told it would be $50 for them to come out and check it.

some suspicious things

The wall mount screw hole on the Tv itself is very lose and came out when I was mounting the tv. Hope it stays 2. The Tv would freeze and I have to unplugged the power to reset.

Sony strongly recommends that the installation of your TV be performed by Sony dealers or licensed contractors. Do not attempt to install it yourself.

Not Bad but can find better

Turns off on its own

Issues just shy of 4 months

Family movie nights were no disappointment, but just shy of 4 months old and we are having issues. A few weeks ago I noticed that when we would select one of the smart apps such as Prime or Netflix the screen would freeze and go black for about 4 - 5 with no response to the remote. Then it would default back to original menu just to repeat this annoying black screen. I did everything to I could, I disconnected the power, shut off the TV you name it and still does this. Sometimes we just get tried of waiting for it to start and we just go watch TV in our bedrooms. Yesterday (9/27/2020) the settings menu appeared on the screen without being selected and the TV went crazy making strange sounds and freezing and scrolling through the setting menu by it's self. What the heck, this TV is such a disappointment.

If your TV suddenly exhibits one of these symptoms: Slow, unresponsive or freeze, or randomly displays a menu, please make sure that the TV has the latest firmware update.

Many of the existing apps from the Google Play store can be downloaded to the Android TV. There are several hundred apps already available with a consistent flow of new apps being released for the Android TV platform.
NOTES:
The availability of Android TV apps is different depending on the country or region where the TV is being used.
Some apps may require that the TV has the latest software update installed.
To automatically download software updates, set the Automatic software download setting to On.

Sony does not have nor make the panel to replace. So if the year is up via Sony no one can fix it as Sony does not make the panel nor is available.. Awful stopped working after two years!

I had the tv for 2 years and it isn't working. Best buy will not cover it. Sony will not cover it. So I have an 85 inch piece of garbage, that I have to replace. I am hoping that best buy will dispose of it otherwise I don't know what to do.

Bad, Sony! Bad!

It died exactly 1 year later to the "T". Thankfully, I purchased the 2-year Geek Squad Warranty at that time and Best Buy made good on their warranty. Best Buy gave me a FULL credit toward a purchase of another much nicer brand. I used to like Sony... used to.
