Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV before Christmas to upgrade from a 65" 1080p Panasonic. This is the first Sony TV I have owned and I have been pleased with the quality of the picture and sound. I only have one concern so far and it may not be the TV itself that is the problem, but I have noticed two highly contrasting colors which are oriented vertically (think referee's outfit) produce an image that skips when the camera pans horizontally across them or if the colors are moving and the camera is stationary. I have only noticed this while watching Motor Trend TV, streaming through YouTubeTV so it may only be this channel on this streaming service. There is a commercial for Ebay Auto they play on nearly every single break that is driving me nuts, but I have seen the skipping at other times, just not so frequently that I can recall the exact commercial/show. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this TV to a friend or family member.

We got a surround sound that they were offering that creates the perfect theater effect. Perfect for family movie nights. We have really enjoyed this tv. We had to rearrange the living room cause it only fits on one wall, but that's ok. The picture is great and we mounted it ourselves with no problems. I can't wait to play video games on this too.

However not the sharpest picture quality out there. Good for movies and television shows but if you watch a lot sports, you may be a little disappointed.

We're not sure what audio-video device or streaming application are you using when watching sports action videos. Unfortunately, about a week ago a line appeared across the middle of the screen. In talking with Best Buy and another technician, it is due to an issue that is unreasonable in cost to repair. It is disappointing that a $800+ purchase has such a short life. Not sure how spending the extra money for Sony was worth it compared to other lower cost brands.

Tiny black dot

Yes, a dead pixel!! Its not big dot, but I see it all the time now... and it drives me crazy. I am not sure if this is covered by the warranty, but I will give it a try.

As for the pixel issue, what may be seeing is one or more of the greater than 2,000,000 dots that make up the composition of your LCD or OLED screen. These dots (also known as pixels) may appear red, green, blue, white or black.
High-precision technology is used to manufacture LCD and OLED displays to maintain a high standard of operation. However, with all LCD/OLED screens, regardless of manufacturer, there may be a small number of dots that do not change color. This is normal operation for LCD and OLED screens for all manufacturers. Most defects are only noticeable when an all-white or all-black picture is displayed and shouldn't be noticeable under normal operation.
Because a defective pixel or pixels is normal on all LCD or OLED screens, there's a high chance that a replacement screen may also have them. It's possible that the replacement could have more defective pixels or the pixels may appear in a more noticeable position.
Please make sure to clean your TV screen thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth to confirm whether or not the issue is actually a defective pixel or due to just dirt or debris. In most cases, dead or defective pixels correct themselves over time. Hope this helps, Regards, -Craig
SONY IF YOU WANT A TV TO WORK FOR KESS THAN 1 YEAR

I wasted hours, trying everything I could to get it to power on. Called Sony and spoke with them to try and have them fix the television. Apparently you have to wait 10 to 14 days while they try to fix their inferior product. So I have no TV less than one year after spending close to $1200 for this television. Sony is not what it used to be and everyone should be warned.

Buyer beware!! Will not work with Apple TV.

I purchased the unit with “3 months Apple TV free and included” Sony support says they have been aware of the problem for some time and they don’t have a fix for it. Not happy that I paid 2K for a smart tv that is not compatible with Apple products.

Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. To use the Apple TV app, AirPlay, and HomeKit, you will need to enable the Sony Smart TV services via the BRAVIA TV Privacy Policy. If you experience Apple TV access or connection issues when pairing to an Apple device using the AirPlay app, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Restart your Apple device.
2. Enable the Sony Smart TV services via the Privacy Policy screen.
On the remote control, press the Help button → Status & Diagnostics → Privacy settings. On the Privacy Policy screen, read the privacy policy, if you agree, scroll down to the very bottom of the policy, and then agree, at least with respect to Sony Smart TV services, or select the Agree to all option if you desire.

Yesterday morning out of the blue it stopped powering up and gave a flashing red LED warning (flashes 6 times). I tried everything to reset it to no avail. Just called Sony customer support to see if a repair was an option. I was informed that I could always take it to an authorized Sony repair facility. I was also told that there is NOT A SINGLE Sony repair facility in Illinois. Seriously?! I then told ‘Thank you for choosing Sony’! I have cheaper TVs that have lasted For years with zero issues. Then of course, I splurge on a Sony and get a subpar TV. Have a nice day, Sony.

Bought this for my parents, soon after i pay it off it goes out! All whute screen! Best Buy says shouldve bought the extended extra warranty and Sony says sorry about tour luck! $3000 and it didnt make it 3yrs!!!
