Worth every penny if you are looking for the best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We pondered 75" and the 850 or 900 series 85" and when we saw them all side by side, we did the 900 Series 85 without hesitation. More than we wanted to spend but Awesome TV with picture and features that blew us away. Magnolia team took down our old set and mounted and setup the new 85" with a new Sony 4k Blu Ray DVD in less than an hour. Very professional. We are glad we made the decision and glad we did it with Best Buy. AAAA+

85 inches Wow
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the 85 850f and there was a lot blooming and i came from 75 940d so the pic quality was not to par.I was skeptical.of the extra 1k and Let me tell you huge difference in contrast color spend the extra cash this tv is worth it. Feels like you are immersed in whatever you are watching. I gave it a 4 as i am still calibrating. If you want a clear huge screen w color accuracy and can spend 5k on a tv this is the way to.go. Theater in your home!!

Best of the lot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first tried the Sony 75 X850 , it did not have a uniform black level. The next was the Samsung 82 Q6f sent it right back poor picture quality. The next I went for the Sony Z9D great blacks but motion was a big problem. I Finally went to the Sony X900F I can just say this it beat them all by a mile. Very satisfied , you cannot go wrong with this choice.

Outstanding Picture Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our 75 inch Sony XBR850D had problems so we replaced it with this 85 inch TV and we are glad we did. The remote is easy to use and navigate with, the apps and updates are quick and seamless to load, the Google microphone is a real plus for downloading more apps at the Google Store, and, most importantly, the picture quality is simply gorgeous. The Magnolia install team connected our other stereo components and was a joy to work with too.

TV makes sounds when off
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV is great when turned on picture and sound are amazing. However when the TV is turned off for hours at a time it will make the sound like its turning on then off "click Click" -the TV itself does not turn on but it makes the sound through out the day and is very annoying for this this $5000.00 tv -anyone else experience this issue?

Was not impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my xbr65x850b with this xbr85x900f because I wanted a bigger screen. I also purchased the Sony HT-ST5000 soundbar. Now I would have HDR, Dobly Atmos, and Dobly Vision. Let’s start with the picture quality... I wasn’t impressed, not that it didn’t look good, because it did, however my old Sony TV was just as good. In fact, my older Sony looked better at certain times just because the screen is smaller and you notice less distortion and artifacts. As for HDR and Dobly Vision, I was able to achieve similar vibrant colors by just increasing/adjusting the colors on my old Sony TV. I wasn’t impressed with that either. The android interface is horrible. It’s so slow that it’s annoying. Sometimes I have to press the button multiple times just to get it to work. Google Assistant works but because of Android interface...it’s slow as well. and Alexa is very buggy.. I linked my Alexa echo plus and Alexa worked turning on and off only twice and now just doesn’t work, period. I have been a loyal Sony customer for a long time but I think Sony really needs to step it up. Especially when they are usually more expensive compared to their competitors. My next TV may not be a Sony if they don’t improve everything.

Terrible interface
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Get picture. Terrible interface. Reboots on its own almost every time you turn the tv on. Then it asks to enable or disable the "Samba Interface", every time, no matter if you have enable or disabled it the prior time. Don't be trying to catch the last 2 minutes of a ball game because this tv take 5 minutes to turn on.

Totally disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is two years since I got this 85" Bravia. Some of the issues I faced were, after 6-8 months, the start up became very slow. Start up time was 4 seconds as per spec, but took 8 seconds and slowly increased to 12-15 seconds. Next issue I started to see was it randomly switches off when started, goes through an entire boot up of android and then the TV starts. Usually this is around a minute or so. Today when I switched on the TV, the regular signal light came, it switched off, and I thought it was going through a regular process of boot up, but to my dismay, it was not. It was RLoD. Red light of Death. I tried the usual mechanisms of power reset, hard reset as per sony's instruction on web site and still nothing works. I have a Sharp TV purchased in 2011, and it still works like new. Totally disappointed about the short life of so called and renowned Sony. Once I started to dig in to see what the issue was, I see there were a lot of customers having the same issue.

Terrible TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.after having this TV for a few months I have had to contact best buy MULTIPLE times for service. Paid a lot of money only to be charged an extra $100+ to fix a board. Streaming apps such as Netflix and Hulu do not function. They freeze or kick you back out to the home menu. Absolute terrible product. I literally had to create a profile JUST to write this review in hopes that no one wastes their money on this shoddy TV
