    Purchased this Sony 85inch tv. First Sony purchase ever and right out the box tv turns on and shuts off after 30sec starts flashing the main led light four times.Called Geek Squad and tv has a bad main board. So now I have to return it and see how that goes not only that I get the fun of loading it up and taking it back. Extremely disappointed in Sony

      Hi Rayton,

      We regret to hear that the TV is not performing to your standards. The TV has a panel refresh rate of native 120 Hz. To support a 4K 120Hz signal from another device, you will need to set the TV HDMI Signal Format to an Enhanced format for your source device to recognize the 4K 120Hz capability of the TV. Make sure your device is connected to the HDMI 3 or HDMI 4 input on the TV using a certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.

      -Select Settings → Watching TV → External inputs → HDMI signal format.

      -Select the input the device is connected to (either HDMI 3 or HDMI 4), and then change the setting to Enhanced format.

    Stunning picture with excellent brightness in a dark or well lit room. This chungus is a big boi. I one thousand percent recommend paying to have it installed. I had it mounted with a full motion pull out mount and it is very easy to move where I want it. Helpful hint. Make sure your HDMI cables are like 7 feet longer than you think they need to be.

    The X91J is last year's 900H. SAME EXACT TV...

    Some people might be confused about what exactly this tv is...I originally thought they gave a special model designation to the 85 in X90J....Nope. This is last year's 900H with a different model number. Sony literally changed nothing...but the model number. The 900H was such a dissapointment that Sony is hoping by repackaging it they'll be able to sell off the remaining stock...Sony, how about you actually try to make a decent LCD...The z9d was the last time you really tried. 32 dimming zones?...That's a joke and that's what you get with this 85 inch tv...32 dimming zones. I hope you love blooming...

    We have two 75" Sony TV's and they will be the last Sony TV's we ever buy. Picture looks great but that is it. Every time I go to pair anything have to reboot tv. Sometimes I power on tv and picture is garbage and have to reboot tv. No more Sony for us.

    Why is the XR chip missing from the 85 inch?

    Dear sony why does the X91J not have the XR chip? It seems all the other sizes and other higher end models for 2021 carry the XR chip. Does Sony plan to release a mid year model that will have the XR chip in it?
