      We're sorry to hear about the dead pixels issue of the TV. High-precision technology is used to manufacture LCD and OLED displays to maintain a high standard of operation. However, with all LCD/OLED screens, regardless of the manufacturer, there may be a small number of dots that do not change color. This is normal operation for all LCD and OLED screens from all manufacturers. Most defects are noticeable only when an all-white or all-black picture is displayed. They shouldn't be noticeable under normal operation.

    12+ months until screen failure!

    The Sony warranty on this TV is 12 months. 13 months after I had it installed in our brand new home, the screen went dark. We have done everything we can through Best Buy geek squad and through Sony to figure out what the problem is without having somebody come out and perform service on the TV. The issue is is that the warranty ran out less than a month ago. I’m not so sure that I would recommend this TV to anyone at this point. I have some good to say about it but if this expensive TV only last 12 to 13 months, it’s irrelevant! Very frustrated!

    Bad Deal

    This Sony 85 inch TV was purchased this year on March 19. For the past month it does not work - no picture no sound. So far no one has done anything to help me get the TV fixed. Shame on you Best Buy.

    Very disappointed in this TV. NOT worth $3800. Picture is not crisp, Has light spots in the background when screen is dark.. This TV was a waste of money and will not buy another SONY. My LG smokes it.

    Buy cheaper Sony model

    I am a Sony loyalist. No longer. The TV has one issue that drives this TV to 1 star. When playing movies, the black bars appear at top and bottom of screen. I spent hours with Sony who took control of TV remotely and they could not fix. Then they claim that is how the TV functions. I have pretty much same TV 850 model with lower spec processor etc. that can play the exact same movie from same source (either a app like Disney or Blue Ray) and no black bars at top and bottom. They claim the picture is of higher quality and so full screen cannot be used. They remoted into both TVs. I will try to return it but will see. Buy the cheaper model if you want full screen mode.

    My 55 inch Sony Bravia only ran for 4 years!!!

    My Sony Bravia set was purchased in 2016 at the Magnolia, West LA Best Buy and is no longer working - That's only a little over four years!!! I was promised by the sales people at Best Buy it would be good for 10 to 12 years. I feel completely ripped off after spending $2000 and I have no recourse. You should avoid Sony TVs at all cost from my experience, unless you're OK replacing it in 4 years. Clearly my experience wasn't as advertised by the sales person at the time of purchase. I've been a Best Buy plus elite member for years and I wish someone would've written a review to warn me. I hope this helps!

    Sony fix streaming apps sound problem

    Every other day I have to restart the tv in order to get sound from apps like Netflix, amazon prime. If the manufacturer wants to advertise it as a smart tv they have to be able to fix this issue. I have to reach the back of the surge protector to unplug the tv and wait one minute, sometimes I just give up.

      In the meantime, to power reset the TV, you don’t have to go through the back of TV. Simply unplug the power cord from outlet for 10 seconds and plug it back in. Or you can try holding down the power button the remote for a few seconds until the menu prompts up to restart the TV.
