I was looking for a high quality digital camera for traveling. I didn't want to carry around anything big and bulky. After extensive reseach and trying out many different brands and models, I settled on the Sony Alpha 6100. The learning curve was not as high as some of the other brands and the navigation menu was easy to understand and fluid. I have been using Photoshop and Light room in conjunction with this camera and it is seamless. The quality of the images is fantastic! I thought my iPhone 14 took great pictures, but after using the 6100 I am blown away! I can print 8" x 10" shots with absolute clarity. Not so much with the iPhone 14. I have traveled with the 6100 and it is light and compact. In my opinion, this is the best option for the money. Being a Totaltech member I automatically get two years of warranty coverage at no extra cost. If you are looking for a high quality DC, look no further, this is a great option.

A phenomenal camera very easy to use for beginners, and great if you like to have freedom to mess with settings it is very easy to do so. The E mount is phenomenal changing out lenses is super easy. The camera is light but very high qut

Perfect size for capturing special moments light weight. Only downside is the app. It sucks but camera is dope

Bought this for as a gift for my wife who wanted to move beyond iPhone photography and get great action shots of our kids, dog, and life in general. The kit lenses are ok, nothing to be amazed at...and once she gets better I am sure she will be putting on new glass. Pro: Light weight, easy to use, takes great images. Con: Smartphone app/connection not reliable

I started to vlog and create content and this camera has it all !!! I love all the capabilites of it. Easy to understand and use. Its quality is second to none and i am looking forward to growing with this camera in my possession.

Hands down best budget set up for the photo enthusiast. Enough pixels to punch in closer in post. Great images!!!!! The kit lenses with this kit really give you range. Not to much distortion or vignetting. Knocked a star off for video capabilities. Takes clean crisp video, but the lack of stabilization makes hand held filming difficult. Definitely a must for photos and gimbal or tripod videos.

Great for my trip to Alaska to see The Aurora Borealis and Denali National Park! The photos I captured were absolutely breathtaking and stunning. I love this camera.

I bought this camera as a first camera for more serious landscape photography than I'd be able to do on my iPhone 11 Pro. I was concerned that the differences between the two would not be that noticeable, and I was very wrong. Aside from the excellent picture quality, the camera modes are easy to navigate, the autofocus is legendary at this point, and the added range of the telephoto lens means I can get tight shots of mountain peaks and practice effects like lens compression. At the same time, my wife can use the camera in auto mode and still get fantastic shots without putting in the extra work. I highly recommend this as a good camera to start with if you want to get more serious about photography (and you've done your research on whether or not the difference between this and a smartphone camera would be worth it to you.)

I am absolutely thrilled with my camera! The quality of picture and ease-of-use makes this camera perfect for a family setting. The fact you can connect to a phone easily is another great feature that allows you to use a remote quickly and easily. I had some different issues with some of the apps but I was able to find one that worked well for me. The quality of picture is breathtaking! And being able to change all of the features like you can with any other SLR make this worthwhile. I would recommend considering buying a wide angle lens with the purchase immediately I would also recommend getting a flash as well. The internal flash is good but an external flash would be better.

Overall, this camera is amazing. Picture quality is impeccable. And it performs really well under low-light. The lcd screen is pretty low quality. But as a photographer you shouldn’t be relying too heavily on the lcd screen to begin with, so it’s not that big of a deal. The lens in this kit aren’t the highest quality (not too surprising) there is a lot of vignetting and a lot of warping as well. Some color fringing but it isn’t too bad. Most of this can be undone in post production software (Such as Lightroom) those kinds of software have programs that are great at undoing this. But if you want to take photography serious, it’ll be worth spending more on better glass later on. Overall, stoked!

You cannot go wrong with Sony’s A6xxx line of cameras. For years I have coached my sons in baseball, soccer, and basketball. Don’t give me the “Daddy Ball” eye rolls. I am actually an experienced and licensed coach in soccer and basketball. After 10 + years of coaching, I’m back on the other side of the field/courts with the parents. A seemingly good time to get back into my photography hobby. I tried to go down to a Point n Shoot Sony CyberShot RX100 III, and while it is a great camera in its segment, I needed the flexibility of changing lenses. A Point n Shoot wasn’t going to get be a clear, high speed shot all the way across the field or on the other side of the court. My nephew is a professional photographer and videographer and he has all kinds of fancy equipment, but when he wants to keep it simple, but high quality, he carries a Sony A6300. It’s a great system with a lot of flexibility and after years on the market; that camera still goes for $1,300 with just one kit lens. This kit ran me a bit less than that, but it still has all of the things that make the A6300 great. Additionally, being a newer model, it also offers a few newer features that the A6300 may not have. All in all, I’ve been EXTREMELY pleased and would recommend this system to anyone. It’s well worth every penny. Enjoy!

I’m a content creator and I got this to use as a webcam and for doing product reviews. The 4k 30fps video quality is really good. The kit lenses provide everything you’ll need to get started. The Sony Image Edge software is easy to use. The focus is really fast, so if you’re trying to take photos of your kids or faster moving animals or trees, blowing in the wind, without getting blurry photos, it’s great for that. The flip up screen comes in handy when trying to take videos of yourself and take selfies. The menu system could be better, but after spending about 15 minutes messing with it, you should be able to figure it out. Highly recommended!

This camera has been a great choice for me. Fits the budget and has all the features for me to grow and learn this new hobby of mine. My goal is to record my kids softball games. I set my lens to record at about 25mm and this has worked perfectly for me to edit great quality video later. I tried the latest GoPro with the addd lens options and a traditional 4k camcorder, the Sony A6100 has by far been the most satisfying.

Excellent camera. It is going to take a while to get used to the menu just like any other brand new product you purchase. The 55 to 210 Kitland‘s is much better than expected and I feel like it’s better than most of the reviews I’ve read.

Solid offering from Sony if you're looking for the features of a DSLR and the size of a point-and-shoot. While the a6000's age is beginning to show, for a slight price bump, you can get 4K video in this great 6100 with the same kit lenses and Sony reliability. Well worth the price and one of the best mirrorless cameras in an increasingly-crowded field of competitors.
