Too many issues but not all units are defective.

I had issues with my SD card slot door being able to be pushed open without hitting the button even just a crack ruins the weather sealing and that's just not going to fly for me. I had another issue with front focusing. in my photography group two other users were complaining like I was about my image quality. I'm using a g Master lens 24 to 70 I'm using this for a while and I have years of experience in photography. One user said their a73 images were sharper than the a74. That should never be the case being that you just got to bump up from 24 megapixels to 33. Sample images that I've edited with the a7s3 which is a 12 megapixel sensor came out sharper than on my a7iv. I am coming from an a7r3 which yes is 42 megapixels and higher resolution but this wasn't really about resolution you can have a lower resolution image but the image can still be tack Sharp. And with a 24 to 70 g master there's no excuse for this. I was told by other members of the group they were hearing that there are front focusing issues that could be fixed with an update on some units. I was not willing to wait around for that so I decided to return this camera and I'll be purchasing the a7r4 instead. I don't recommend this camera to anyone looking to upgrade until the issues have been addressed.

Poor in-store support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased on-line. Upon pick-up, poor in-store support at Boise store caused me to cancel purchase. Bought on Amazon for cheaper price. If you want a supportive bricks-and-mortar experience, buy from a camera retailer. If you don’t need that, go ahead and buy on Amazon. No reason to make large camera purchases here.
