    The A7V is a great upgrade to prior versions of the A7# line for bird/wildlife/sports photographers. A speedier processor for AI focus capabilities. Improved 33mp sensor with a wider dynamic range. Faster electronic shutter of 30 FPS. Most importantly a tremendous speed increase in chip readout. While not as fast as the global shutter on the A1 series, it is a huge improvement drastically decrease rolling shutter effect when photographing fast moving objects. If you are looking for some of the high end features found on Sony cameras thousand dollars more, this model will more than suit your needs. Plus the shutter actuation count (rated shutter life) in this model is twice that of prior models.

    Sony A7V is a revolution camera that leaps from A7IV, it has improved from its predecessor impressively in many areas such as long 630 shots battery life, Zero Blackout Viewfinder, Pre-Shooting Buffer, 30 fps electronic Shutter, and many others. This helps to improve outdoor photography. The Contrast Detection and Phase Detection of autofocus systems make Rapid autofocus with the new partially stacked sensor and Bionz XR 2 processor bring improved low-light performance make this camera a great all-round full-frame camera that many people are waiting for including the pros. I highly recommend.

    Switching from the a7R III to the a7 V is a massive leap forward. Between the improved tracking, the burst rates, and the fully functional touchscreen, it's a whole new experience.

    Originally had the Sony a7iv paired with the Sony 200-600 for wildlife. Decided to part with the a7iv and get the new a7v. Fantastic upgrade. 30fps raw, partially stacked senor to help lessen rolling shutter for birds in flight. Very pleased with this camera. I wish they would have eliminated the mechanical shutter and went fully stacked sensor and upped the megapixels to 45mp to fully compete with Nikons z8. Overall very happy with it.

    This is THE upgrade from the a7iv. The a7iv was a mid tier upgrade over the a7iii, however the a7v is an absolute step above. Video quality is what I mainly use and the auto focus and colors are heading in such a great direction. The new screen is a game changer, pulled from the a7rv, making it easier to use for run and gun without worries about the offsetting screen. One con is that the grip is getting larger every year. I moved to mirror less because the body was so much smaller, but size appears to be catching DSLRs. Overall, a great hybrid camera.

    We're professional filmmakers/photographers upgrading our A7IV which did double duty as a photo and video camera to complement our A7SIIIs and FX3. The A7V has been a fantastic upgrade so far. We've used it on multiple shoots and the upgraded AI autofocus, vastly improved auto white balance and dynamic range are exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommended.

  • A Hybrid Beast / Peace of Mind

    Compared to the A7 IV, the A7V is a clear upgrade. Everyone can talk about sensors & AI & all of the other stuff, but it comes down to this: It DOES NOT overheat. Some people have had it happen, others haven’t. The A7V ensures we all don’t have it happen AT ALL. It doesn’t even get hot. The battery life is exceptional. I run these for a hour or more at a time, slog 4K/24 10bit. At no point in recording am I thinking about “is it going to overheat, I wonder how hot it is, is the battery going to die?”…this was always a thought with my A7 IV. Everyone knows gear failure during a shoot cannot happen. It’s a non-negotiable. For that peace of mind & aside from the technical upgrades, it’s more than worth the price. This camera is a hybrid beast for photos & videos.

    I love this camera. AF is ver good and picture quality at high ISO beats my A7m3. I used it for indoor swimming sports and I can’t complain with the results. Highly recommended if you are looking to use it for sport photography. I have not tested video yet.

    Choose this camera over the Sony fX3. Not because of the price point but because of all the new features it carries. It has built in Ai for auto focusing which is a game changer. Makes the fX3 outdated. Overall very great camera for hybrid shooters. Worth the upgrade from Sony A74.

    I have owned the r series since the 2 and have been getting more and more into video. I decided to move to this camera from the a7rv and have no regrets. The move from 61 to 33MP is barely noticeable in real world application however the added low light performance is incredible.
