Very Awesome camera for the price. It's prefect for beginners which is why i got it.. There are a few settings that i would like easier access to. but that's not a deal breaker.

I've had this camera for almost 2 months now-I LOVE it!!! Best camera I've ever had. I use it for ebay close ups. The stabilizer function is amazing. I haven't tried the software yet, but I will. I had to sign in under my husbands BB member number. It wouldn't allow me to join. BAD deal BB. I would definitely buy from them again, but you need to find the right Sales person. I went back 4 times.....

This is a great camera. I am moving up from P&S which i could keep in my pocket. I am really impressed with the pic taken by this camera. The low light photos are very good. Most of the time you do not even need a flash in low light conditions. Once i get more comfortable, i may trade up to better versions of the sony alpha series. but for now this is great.

The Sony 5000 and Sony 6000 not so great

I have an old point and shoot Sony camera that I just love and it takes Wonderful, Sharp, Clear pictures. However, the shutter speed is not fast enough for my 2 year old twin grandchildren. By the time I'm taking the picture they are out of the picture. So Decided to Upgrade and kept with the Sony Brand because I love my old Sony. I have been greatly disappointed. I've tried both the Sony 5000 and the Sony 6000. The Sony 6000 definitely took better pictures, but both of them are " hit and miss" I have more blurry, out of focus pictures with the 5000. The clarity of the pictures is better with the 6000, but am returning both because I want a camera that will take a clear picture at least 80% of the time. THe color is better in the 5000, especially with people in the picture. The 6000 was definitely sharper in the images, but the color is way off. Never had any issues like this before with my 4 year old point and shoot Sony, and most of the pictures were WOW. I'm sure there is a camera out there that takes beautiful pictures all of the time with faster shutter speeds, but these two are not it!

    One Smart Camera

I bought this as a backup for my big Nikon, while taking advantage of the Sony's smaller size for certain activities. You could leave it in "superior auto" and it will do all the work for you, including exposure blending to improve the lighting in difficult situations, something I usually go to Photoshop for when using the Nikon. The included lens seems to be pretty sharp, even at max telephoto. In summary; When I go to Alaska to shoot the Northern Lights in a few weeks, I'll take the Nikon, a good tripod and this Sony as a backup. If I travel overseas, I would have no problem taking the Sony as my only camera. BTW, Best Buy...I see that you dropped the price the week after I bought it...Grrrrr...

This is my first camera that isn't just a point and shoot camera! I love this camera, it takes such good sharp pictures even just using the automatic settings. I am excited to learn how to use all the different features on this camera, it continues to surprise me with its quality and low price.

Love everything about the camera. However, I think I did something that when I take a picture, I get a second image when reviewing--a zoomed in version of the original I took. I'm not sure how to get rid of that feature. any help would be appreciated.

This is an amazing camera with continuous shooting, great zoom, color, changeable lens option, and movie mode! It is a little larger than I would like, but well worth it! After researching for hours, this is the BEST choice!

I bought this camera to take pictures of my daughter playing volleyball and I'm so happy with it! No blur at all! It's hard to get a clear action shot especially in a gymnasium but this camera does it!

Got this to replace a slowly dying point and shoot. The image quality is amazing. Get lots of comments about the small size of the body. Which is the main reason we went with this over a full sized DSLR. Its been so nice to have such a capable camera that is easy to take every where you would want to take pictures.

    Almost a DSLR

If you want DSLR quality without the hefty price tag, this camera is perfect. I purchased an open-box item at a steep discount (even though there really wasn't anything wrong with it). It's a little slow to start/shut off, but other than that it provides great pictures. Downside is that I have an older computer and it's not compatible with the movie software to transfer to my computer (windows vista). I found a way around it, but it's a bit of a hassle and loses quality in the transfer process because it's 3rd party software. I can't blame the camera/brand for that though. All-around great camera. I'm definitely glad I purchased it.

I purchased this for my family when we went on vacation to Africa -- the only thing I wish I would've purchased with it was that extra zoom attachable lens to be able to get even closer pictures of the wild animals. However, other then that- for any other vacation or usage it is amazing. Definitely would recommend
