Simply put...great size, great in low light, fast shutter speed, great price!

Love the fact that I can chaNGE lenses. It takes great photos even close up. I have used a dslr for years and this is a great companion camera because of the size and versatility. Easy transfer to computer.

The camera has an amazing sensor on par with expensive DSLRs and will work well for serious shooting if you know how to post-process the raw images in Lightroom to correct for sensor noise and lens profile. The kit lens looks physically well-made but does not have good enough optics for serious photography but works fine for casual use.

got this for a gift to mom. she loves it easy point and shoot only wish it had a dial to change shooting setting instead of having to go to menu to change it. other than that best thing about this is u can hold the flash pointing up before taking a pick to get way better quality pics by bouncing the flash on the ceiling.

It takes very nice pictures, but does not seem to be very user friendly. I bought this camera because of the ability to transfer pictures to I phones. I have tried this several times with no luck. All it does is say connecting, and it never does.....very frustrating!!!

This is my first Sony compact system camera. I purchased for my wife who is a picture fanatic. This thing is really great. The quality of pics is wonderful and it is easy to use. It even connects to her smartphone via a built-in WiFi connection! I would strongly recommend this camera to anyone!!!

Worth every penny (when bought on Thanksgiving sale) - compact, full-featured, system camera (you can change lens) with built-in and additional apps can be installed.

Ok, this camera is pretty darn fantastic. The, "price to features," ratio is through the roof. I love the size and, "quality of build," and the menu is extremely easy to navigate. Two quarks to be aware of: 1. The low light capability is limited with the stock lens and you'll have a lot of ISO noise in low light. 2. This camera doesn't include a charge. This means you'll need to plug your camera into a micro usb cable to charge. This is a little scary for pet owners. All and all it's a steal. Camera failed after 2 months. Glad I had extra protection. Cool camera but not yet reliable. Sony not a camera company. Spent 1hr 27 min on phone. Best they could do was send me to store. Lots of run around. Just want to sell. Not interested in customer service.. Hide behind policy! No effort to improve situation. No concern for my lost time and lost vacation pictures. Lost my business. Will work hard to never go back.

I purchased this camera in December and have waited to write this review. I had saved my money for years to move from my 35mm film camera into a DSLR. When these new Sony's came out I was impressed. There were few differences between this model and the next one up. The main two was that the a5000 has greater pixel but did not have a view finder. I made several trips to Best Buy looking at these cameras and speaking with different :"experts". None of those "experts" told me that the absence of a view finder would make taking pictures in sunlight IMPOSSIBLE. You simply cannot see what you're photographing because of the glare on the screen. After purchasing the camera, trying to decipher the horrible manual, if you can call it that, I discovered this fact for myself. Returning to Best Buy, they suggested purchasing an LCD hood. I finally did, and have to say it does not work either. It took me years to save up for something that I now find useless. It makes me sick to my stomach. Coming home from my morning hike today I almost tossed it out my truck window. Instead I'll put it in my closet and hope to forget out it's there. Bottom line, do not purchase this camera, or any camera without a view finder, if you enjoy taking pictures outdoors.

I am not too happy with this camera. It works well but I expected better pictures in the “auto mode”, especially for moving objects.

Best camera for an unbeatable price. Great quality

I got this camera in as a replacement to my Canon eos m. It does the job just fine, i just feel like the picture quality it not as sharp as my Canon. Also sometimes when i turn it on, it takes a few seconds for it to be on, which can be annoying.

Great quality and a very nice step up from point and shoot . Sony quality is still there.

This camera is very hard to use. It does not come with an instruction manual and I had to Google everything. Also, I have tried countless times and cannot get the camera to hook up to my iphone to transfer pica between the two over wifi. Also, it seems you can't take any pics and save them unless you have a memory card. Pics disappear right after I take them and can't be played back. It would seem there would be some small amount of internal memory on the camera itself.

I was THRILLED when I got this camera! However.... I can't film for more than 15 minutes without the "internal temperature too hot" sign pop up! It's so annoying!!! I wish I would have did more research first, and now I'm stuck with a camera that I hate, and can't afford to buy a new one that I know I'm going to love! If you're just into photography, and taking pictures this is great. But if you're wanting to film long videos, best bet is to get a Canon t5i!

purchased this camera and less then 3 months the flash burnt out and they told me i might as well purchase a whole new camera. worst customer service, and they did nothing to help.
